  1. I don't watch a ton of movies but I did love Slumdog Millionnaire. I also loved Seven Pounds. When my wife and I were just starting dating, we went and saw Jeepers Creepers. That was probably the worst movie of the decade and I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to make a sequel.
  2. Darn I could have swore seeing a show on ESPN that included Redd in the 2010 FA class. So much for getting my hopes up that he would be gone after this year. He is like the Bucks version of Jeff Suppan, except you can actually count on Suppan to go out there and pitch.
  3. Redd is only signed through this year. I would give it about a 2% chance that he is back with the Bucks unless he takes an absolutely huge pay cut. Ersan has been nothing short of incredible in the young season. He absolutely sucked his first time around. Now he is bigger, stronger and much more confident. I wonder if Skiles would ever consider using a starting lineup of Jennings Ridnour MBM Ersan Bogut. Those probably are the top 5 players right now IMO.
  4. I'll agree with those who said that if we had Bogut we would have beaten Orlando, OKC, and NO. Teams are obviously playing much more tight on Jennings now (especially since he is probably the only legitimate offensive threat we have right now) so he is going to have to adapt. He is going to have to start hitting those floaters and other shots in the lane. Jennings hasn't made the best decisions in the paint either. He gets way to many shots blocked, when he is down there he should really know better and dish off
  5. This is kind of funny. My furnace also just took a crap within the last 12 hours. Mine is a Carrier Weathermaker 9200 and is 10+ years old. When it clicks on it starts chaking a rattling and the blower never turns on. When I bought my house in February the seller gave me a one year home warranty and luckily the furnace is covered. It will only cost me a $60 deductible no matter if it is just a small repair or if they have to replace the whole thing. I think it might cost me a bit more for a replacement but obviously much less than if I had to buy the whole thing myself. I would probably prefer that they just give me a new one since the existing furnace is so old. Only problem is that my warranty company can't find anyone available in the FDL area to come service my furnace so I am sitting here freezing my butt off waiting for someone to call. It is 63 now and will probably drop pretty fast once the sun goes down.
  6. I really want to know the reasoning behind the 3 people that decided to vote Prince #10. Really how could they have possibly though that their were 9 players better than Fielder last year. Someone gave Matt Hollliday a 4th place vote, Derrek Lee a 2nd place vote, and Yunel Escobar a 5th place vote. Some people are either being incredible homers are just being downright stupid.
  7. TH just released his ballot. He had Pujols #1 and Fielder #2 but for god knows what reason Chase Utley isn't even in his Top #10. He also snuck Braun in at #10. To have Braun, Sandoval, Either, and Derrek Lee on your ballot while leaving off Utley is pretty ludicrous.
  8. I wouldn't hesitate at a Gamel, Salome, Parra trade but not sure if that is enough. I saw enough talent out of Lawrie this year that thier is no way I part with him for anybody that will realistically be on the market this year. I just have a feeling that the kid is going to be very very good. Like Ryan Braun Version 2.0 good. Trade anyone else in the minor league system besides Lawrie or LuCroy to get this guy in Milwaukee. A Johnson, Gallardo, Wolf, Bush, Suppan rotation would look pretty nice in 2010 if you ask me, especially if Melvin is able to keep our offense relatively in tact w/o trading any important pieces.
  9. Could you imagine the haul MN would get if they can't sign him to an extension? If they were to trade him and allow the other team a negotiating window it might be the biggest package ever recieved for an MLB player. It would probably be the MLB version of the Herschel Walker trade. If the Brewers wanted to do it it would probably be Gallardo, LuCroy, Lawrie, Arnett and change and that is just ridiculous to think about.
  10. Why in the heck did I stay up for that game. Yeah UW won, but basketball was set back about 30 years with that game. Just a very ugly game. I will be very worried next year of Jordan Taylor is the starting PG because he has shown absolutely nothing in his years at UW so far, the guy is broke from outside ad certainly doesn't get into the lane like Hughes does. I really like the depth at the 3-5 positions for the next couple years. Nankavil and Leuer are both solid players, and from what I have seen from Berggren and Breusewitz they can be solid contributors as well. But if I was Bo Ryan I would be extremely worried about the guard play in 2010. I think I have raised my expecatation a bit for this years team. I think they can finish top 4 Big 10 and get a 6-7 Seed in the tourney
  11. Jennings had his first game where he really struggled. SA did not let him get the jumper off and he just couldn't hit the floater. And without Bogut their rebounding and post defense was pretty bad. Gadzuric just sucks and Thomas is just to old. Ersan had another good game though
  12. I am pretty sure Redd isn't ready to come back yet. His stretch on the court was the worst I have ever seen him play. 1-6 on FT really? Great comeback at the end of 2nd quarter to get back in it and take the league. Seems like MIL has a tougher time with the SA 2nd string than the slow pace 1st stringers
  13. The Spurs have been far from world beaters this year so if Jennings does his normal thing I think the Bucks will be right there. Bucks haven't been blown out once this year and I think they will be right there at the end again tonight. I guess if they can win 1 out of the next 3 I will satisfied, 2 of 3 and I will be ecstatic and if they win the next 3 I will put a downpayment on some playoff tickets.
  14. It seemed to me that Jennings really wasn't on his A game tonight (Except for the 1st quarter) and he still put up awesome line of 29/7/4. Delfino looked like he was not interestes in passing the entire night, not sure what was up with that. Ersan is so much better than he was 2 years ago, he looks like a completely different player. If he can keep this up maybe the Bucks can be a legitimate 4-6 seed in the playoffs. They have another winnable game tommorrow
  15. Wouldn't it make sense for Boras & Fielder to look at only a 3-4 year deal so Fielder can get his last mega contract when he is still peaking? Yeah he could look for a 6-7 year contract after 2011 when he is a FA, but that likely would be his last big contract if he does indeed see some wear and tear due to his weight. Why not sign a 4 year extension at say $80M and then have the ability after that to go into FA and sign the 6 year $150M deal? He would probably be better off doing that than finishing out his time in Milwaukee making $10.5M this year and maybe $16M next year and then signing the 6 year/$150M after that. Of course if Boras and Fielder feel he can be a productive player going well into his 30's than my strategy wouldn't be in his best interest.
  16. If by some miracle the Brewers and Jays actually work out a deal including a window to negotiate an extension I wouldn't hesitate at Gamel, Lawrie, Scarpetta, and Parra. If we could get the best pitcher in baseball for 3+ years that would be a no brainer IMO. Of course the odds of the Brewers actually being able to pay Halladay what he would want would be betweem slim and none. If we could only get Halladay for 2010 w/o an extension I would limit it to Gamel, Scarpetta, and a 2009 draft pick PTBNL. Maybe Parra if they throw in a decent prospect.
  17. If Redd if out tonight Jennings is probably going to have to take 35 shots. Luckily we are not playing a very good team so we have a legitimate shot to win even without Bogut, Redd, and MBM. Definitely not good timing though, they start a pretty tough road trip next week and really needed all hands on deck.
  18. Tonight should be a good indicator of where this team is. Dallas will most likely not allow Jennings to get wide open jump shots, he is going to have to be a driver and distributor tonight. I think this will be the one game they lose on this homestand although I won't be shocked if they pull it out.
  19. It sounds like Melvin would be open to dealing for Jackson but it is up to the Tigers GM to see if there is any match. The article says the Tigers want you pitching. I guess it depends how young we are talking about. We don't have any really good major league ready talent but if he is looking for some talent to break in in 2011 and 2012 and then we might have a match.
  20. At least the Bucks are not the Knicks that is all I have to say. That team is a joke and they are obviously just not even competing this year just to have a chance to sign either Lebron or Wade after the season.I don't know that the Knicks have to tank to het LeBron or Wade. If they are terrible I would say that Wade and LeBron are even less likely to go there because they actually want to win. On the other hand, if they tank and get a top 3 pick to go along with Wade or Lebron they could bery well be a little contender almost instantly
  21. Brandon Jennings is good at basketball. Great Holy Moly
  22. Rumor is that Victorino and Michael Bourn have 2 of the 3 GG OF spots with Cam finishing 5th. I heard who the 3rd winner was but I can't remember anymore. Franceuor was 4th EDIT: Matt Kemp was the other guy
  23. I am sorry but I just don't see Melvin going that hard after Lackey. He hasn't made more than 27 in either of the last 2 years and hasn't had more than 177 innings pitched so their is an injury risk on this one. And even if Melvin does really want him, he has to want to come here, and we will have to beat out some higher payroll teams. I just don't see it. I am guessing Melvin will have some interest but he will end up getting out bid fairly easily. I could see him offering like 4/60 and getting blown out of the gym by some 5 or 6 year deal.
  24. My wife made me haul the Christmas Tree in from the garage yesterday. It was November 8th and it was 60 degrees out and whe wants to set up the Christmas Tree. This is her favorite time of the year though, so I can tolerate it. Neighbors across the street already have Christmas lights up.
  25. I think the only way Melvin could have gotten a pitcher that is better than a #4-5 would have been to take back a bad contract. I would like to think that getting Gomez and being able to spend and additional $15M while not having to worry about the CF will result in a much more positive result than say just trading Hardy straight up for Harang or similar pitcher/contract. That is unless everyone is comfortable having Jody Gerut as the every day starting CF. Granted Gerut outperformed Gomez last year at the plate, but Gomez is miles better in CF, is younger, and has tons more potential. When you are a "small market" team you sometimes have to bank on potential. It seems pretty obvious that Melvin is willing to trust in potential in CF in exchange for an ability to go after "results" in SP. When you are basically forced to trade a backup SS who had a terrible year, getting a young talented CF isn't the worst outcome in the world. I mean really, if we had traded Hardy for another #4-5 SP people would have been just as pissed about that.
