  1. I am guessing TEX has only tried to resign him half heartedly. I mean when you have someone like Profar right behind Andrus I wouldn't be in a hurry to offer big money to Andrus. That being said he would demand a huge raise if he were to sign an extension.
  2. Well it would all depend on who else is going to TEX. A reliever who cares they all suck; it just depends on who the position player would be. TEX doesn't have a whole lot of needs there
  3. Well it sure sounds like it would be a rather big deal. Getting Elvis Andrus would be pretty exciting. I would withold judgment until we know what the other pieces are. If we are giving up a reliever and a good position player I hope we might be getting a little more than Andrus; but who knows. EDIT: Didn't notice that the Crew would also get a significant SP prospect; that probably means a significant position player is also heading there. I don't know what TEX would need at the MLB level for position players though? Outfield?
  4. There would have been a bigger firestorm if we sent down Maldonado; he certainly doesn't deserve to be sent down. I am guessing Lucroy will get 7 out of 10 starts which still gives Maldonado ample opportunity.
  5. We are splitting hairs; Izturis and Bianchi both suck and obviously have no future with the organization. Kottaras hasn't been good since the first 2 weeks of the season; not a suprise DM hasn't found a taker yet.
  6. Apparently DM couldn't find a taker for Kottaras as he was DFA'd
  7. Forgot that James Shields is still out there. Both TEX and ANA are going after him. That is another big name out there DM has to compete with
  8. I would take Segura & Richards in a heartbeat for Grienke. I have a love fest for Hunter Morris so I am not in a huge hurry to at a 1B prospect. Plus Cron looks like he doesn't walk a lick; hes got nice power but 18 walks in over 400 AB's? Hunter Morris has never walked much but he has got 30 and about another 40 points of OBP over Cron and over 100 points in OPS
  9. Come on the WMJ isn't that bad for Brewers coverage. I have liked the addition of Todd Rosiak to the coverage. TH isn't the best in the business and probably has no business being an authority on MILB; but he is a pretty decent MLB reporter
  10. Garza and Dempster are still two pretty big fish available. Isn't Garza even signed through next year? He may not be as good as Grienke but he would arguably be more valuable
  11. Awesome storm last night; finally got a good drenching. The news said FDL got 2.5 inches last night; internets only says 1.5. Either way it was an awesome night except for my one year old daughter freaking out with the thunder. I love storms like that EDIT: WTMJ says FDL might have gotten 3-4 inches last night
  12. I like that the asking price right now is players like Machado and Profar. While Melvin will likely have to come down from that; he likely will only have to "settle" for players like Olt, Perez, Segura, Etc. I am getting a better feeling that the return is going to be pretty darn good. Especially since LAA and TEX are bidding against each other. Machado or Profar still aren't happening probably but I don't think Melvin is going to drop his demands too much.
  13. I am glad the guy is being given a shot. Obviously something needs to go down by 7 PM tonight. Might be as simple as Bianchi getting demoted; but some sort of trade will likely be pulled off today.
  14. If for whatever reason Hart would be traded does anyone think that they might call up Morris and have him skip AAA? Just curious who the next guy up would be (Hopefully not Ishikawa)
  15. Marte just got called up by the Bucs. I think they are hoping he provides the offensive boost they need rather than them having to go trade for a bat
  16. I also would want no part of trading Fiers right now. I know he probably won't keep this up but I don't want to trade him and he does. You just don't trade pitchers you control for 5 more years that have an ERA under 2 through the first 2 months of there MLB career; even if they really are only 4 ERA type pitchers.
  17. Yeah we totally would be awesome if Nedly was our manager. (Eye Roll) Personally I think we would be in 1st place if we still had Davey Lopes.
  18. Hey I like Krod; he is going to turn this season into a better Draft Pick next year. If you are going to fail; you might as well fail spectacularly.
  19. Calling for a bunt with a runner on 3rd and no one out does seem rather unwise; especially since Maldonada is more than capable of driving him in another way. Its one thing to have Ransom, Izturis, or the like bunt there; its quite another to have a guy with some power do it.
  20. You keep saying that but there is no evidence that a deal is even close. There was even word that Johnson probably won't end up getting traded. Olt is still on the trading block.
  21. I was going to say the same thing; does anyone really care? The outcome of this game or the rest of the games this season is really secondary to what the Brewers will look like come 2013. I have the transaction forum sticked this afternoon; not really even paying attention to the game
  22. That is just dumb talk. Even if we keep Aram you could still do some combination of Olt/Aram and 1st and 3rd and either trade Hart or move him back to RF. Aram shouldn't matter a lick.
  23. I don't know that we should be in a big hurry to try to package Weeks. I still think he could bounce back next year. I wouldn't be opposed to trading him though.
  24. So the White Sox want Grienke "Badly" I don't know if there is a match; the farm system looks pretty bare.
  25. A very short while and it wasn't eevn because he was any good. Just had an awesome name
