  1. There is now way that Parra doesn't allow this run to score And I agree on the apathy towards this team. Frankly I just don't care like I have in years past. Thats a shame since there are so many good players on this team. I have only been to 1 game this year and I am not all the upset about it. Usually I get to at least 5 or 6.
  2. I think Fiers could very well turn into a #3 type pitcher and should be guaranteed a spot in next years rotation if both Wolf and Marcum are gone. Should probably get a spot regardless. He has had success at MILB and now MLB; I think he is good enough to stick around. I also think he stays in the rotation the rest of the year. Marcum is going to be at least another couple weeks and by that time Grienke might be traded.
  3. Considering how bad Wolf has been; I am having a hard time convincing myself that DM would send down the better catcher in favor of the personal catcher for a terrible pitcher who is gone after this year. I will be extremely disappointed if Kottaras isn't the one that is demoted or traded. Plus Maldonado is the RH bench bat we need late in games (Obviously I would like a non catcher RH bat as well)
  4. No one can match it; the maximum another team can offer is 4 years. The wildcard is the European teams as they can offer anything they want and if the money is good the allure of playing much closer to home and being a star rather than role player would be very appealling.
  5. Its not like Hart is 40 years old. He could easily have another 3-4 years of productivity at 1st. Sure he could drop off, but the that threat is there for everyone 30 or older. Hart has shown no evidence of a drop off; he is well on his way to posting another .800 OPS. You can't run a team scared of veterans and the chance they could fall off especially when you don't have a can't miss prospect to replace him. I am fine extended him for 2-3 years beyond 2013 but obviously I am OK trading him if you get something good in return. I just don't tihnk Melvin should be going out of his way trying to trade a guy that has performed very well in the last 3 years and is still signed through next year.
  6. No one seriously thinks that Yuni B was a crucial part of last years success. The point was that you can afford to have some soft spots on the starting roster and still be successful. You don't need a Top 10 player at every position.
  7. I don't think Axford is as good as 2011 but not nearly as bad as 2012. He has just been to inconsistent with the breaking ball this year. I also think he has sacrficed location this year in exchange for an extra 2-3 MPH on his fastball. I am seeing a lot of 98 MPH this year with erratic command. Last year he was normally sitting around 95-96 and had much better control. I think he is a good long term closer that will probably blow 5 games a year just like every other closer in MLB. Krod is on the downside of his career and the rest of the bullpen guys are really fringe MLB players. They did catch lightning in a bottle in 2011. Going forward I would really like them to focus on getting some power arms rather than a bunch of sinker ballers and junk ballers like Loe. Outside of Axford they don't really have anyone that can blow it by a hitter.
  8. The offense is definitely coming around; the problem is that we can't reasonably expect them to score 10 runs a game. Leave the starters in the whole game; pitch count be damned
  9. 264 K's and only 32 BB's. That is just crazy. I am still pissed that I missed his 18 K performance because I was at my sister's college graduation
  10. People really don't think that some random internet message board guy could really manage a MLB team do they? I mean come on
  11. We could be looking at a huge inning right here if it weren't for Gomez thinking he was Usain Bolt
  12. Rickie is inching his way to .200. I think he will get there by the All Star Break. If he cant hit .230 for the year it will probably be a miracle; but that also means hes gets a .330-350 OBP which isn't bad at all
  13. Hart has a ton of trade value; if he was offered on the trade market he would no doubt be one of the best bats available. 25-30 HR guys don't grow on trees. You aren't going to get a Top 30 Prospect for him most likely; but you should definitely shoot for a Top 75 or so.
  14. Isn't Marcum basically untradeable at this point? The Phillies are never going to get for Hamels what they are asking for right now. Trade deadline deals just won't result in as big of returns as they used to because of the draft pick compensation. PHI is not getting 3-4 top prospects from a team for 10 starts of Cole Hamels. Thats crazy talk. That be like giving up Bradley, Jungmann, and Thornburg for Hamels; just dumb and not realistic.
  15. Based on the current rumors it definitely looks like the Braves and Rangers are the most active suitors right now. I would prefer to deal with TEX because it appears they have more upper echelon prospects to offer. I would take Olt or Profar straight up for 2 months of Grienke any day; I would probably take Martin and a couple mid level prospects too. I would love Olt as he could be ready for Mid 2013 where we could shift Aram to 1st for the last 1.5 years of his contract. No one in the Braves system really excites me like that. I like Machada for BAL as well but he might be a little over rated IMO.
  16. I still watch the show quite a bit; its on TV Land all the time. Really good television although it really died with the end of Fife. Just wasn't the same
  17. Many farmers were happy when FDL got about 1-2 inches or rain in the span of 2 hours last night. They were starting to enter panic mode. This heat wave has been just ridiculous. The central AC I put in last year is the best investment I ever made. I don't have any intention of going outside tomorrow unless it means going to the pool. The only positive of this heat wave and lack of rain is that I don't think I have mowed my lawn in at least 4 weeks.
  18. Rosendale has to generate more tickets per capita than just about any place in the country. I grew up in the area and it is rather ridiculous. The locals are smart enough to stay at or below the speed limit; but there are always people passing through that don't know any better.
  19. In Rosendale people get tickets for going .2 MPH over; or if they so much as look at a cop car funny.
  20. I will be cheering for him. It really sounds like ATL is going to try to rush him up to MLB.
  21. There once was a man named Michael Finnegan....... is stuck in my head There are certain draw backs about having a 2 year old
  22. Every team has mental lapses; it not the fault of any manager or front office. It happens. It is just a convenient excuse to blame someone when the team sucks. The Crew had there fair share of dumb moments last year but we all forgot about them since the team was winning.
  23. I slept on it and I still don't know how they picked Henson over Zeller. They based their decision on one pre draft workout that Henson supposedly was awesome at over the last 2 years of production at UNC where Zeller was clearly the better player. I like the 2nd round pick but everyone already knows that he won't see the floor. Our guard depth is so atrocious it isn't even funny. And what do you do in 2013 when Ellis is gone. I really don't know if the draft could have gone worse; I was really excited when Leonard went early which meant the Bucks wouldnt be getting ihm. But instead they draft a rail thin no offense forward.
  24. Larry Sanders 2.0 I guess not a bad pick; I would have preferred Zeller over him though. Really wish Lamb would have fallen another two spots
  25. I would be very satisfied with Terrence Ross, Tyler Zeller, or Austin Rivers. Terrence Jones would be an OK pick, Leonard or Sullinger would be awful. I wonder who the Bucks are targeting if they are trying to get into the Top 10 and how they could even trade up that far. Maybe Dion Waiters?
