  1. <-- is eating Webb's burgers for dinner tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Did Prince just end a career for the Giants catcher?? Sounded like an odd play, with Koskie trying to score from second/third on Prince's collision. Someone's gotta post that AAA picture of Prince leveling someone at home.
  3. Man, so far this year, it's tough convincing me we'll do just fine with Carlos out and a rookie in next year.
  4. I don't think he'll be at practice on Sunday. But he will be at Long Wong's on Saturday night! You can do the exchange there!
  5. The poster in question does nothing wrong. He is overly-passionate about the Brewers. He expects a win every day. He's super hard on Brewer players when they look awful. 98% of us might think it's ridiculous to say something like "Cappy is the new ace, no doubt about it" at this point of the season. It's still just someone's opinion. Generally, I'm more disappointed in the responses (quantity and quality) to said poster than I am to the poster himself. I went back and looked at the evolution of the thread. The senseless drama starts with him posting his reasoned opinions (be them unpopular) about wins being more important than ERA, and quickly turns into him being insulted, ganged up on, and having his fandom questioned. You're trying to reach out to casual fans to turn them into die-hard fans? Maybe no one here knows what it's like to be a casual fan anymore. Some casual fans are going to get mad and reactionary when the team loses or a player looks bad. That calm notion of "marathon-not-sprint" and stat-based, long-term evaluation isn't there. Looking back at the IGT, I think there's a better way to talk to a guy who's obviously a huge Brewer fan but is just frustrated with and reactionary to the team's perforamance that night. I think the other posters failed by calling him out and forcing him to be defensive rather than just openly discussing his opinions with an open mind (or ignoring his thoughts altogether). And I really don't care if he posts only on losing days. So what if on winning days he's happy and doesn't feel like typing at a computer with trivial, "go team!" thoughts, but on losing days he's ticked and feels like venting about how bad he thinks a player is? How can you tell a guy how to live his life? "Please log on to this site and post both on winning days and losing days, not just losing days." My 45 cents...
  6. wisconsinfan47, thanks but I couldn't bring the station in. whizkid, thanks ... that works for me.
  7. Is tonight's game not broadcast on WTMJ in milwaukee? I'm hearing Bucks talk. Is there an alternate station?
  8. I would in for the chat as well.
  9. Can anyone explain this to me? Why wouldn't the team with the higher winning percentage be higher in the standings?
  10. Cappy looking good, but I'm not sitting comfortably yet. I can still see a seven run lead slip away in a hurry at Wrigley with the crowd getting into it. Gotta finish. BTW, Zambrano will now be 0-for-April. Hopefully 0-2.
  11. All right, one more half inning and it'll be official. Then the rain can come if it needs to. Until the, let's keep it going...
  12. Wild pitch! 7-0 Brewers. Run charged to Z.
  13. Brady Clark with the 5-2-3 double play. No runs score. Second and third, 2 out, Cappy up. Grrrrrr.
  14. Another walk (Miller). Bases loaded again, still nobody out. Dusty coming out with the hook.
  15. Koskie with a double that scores two!! Seventh extra-base hit in the game for the Crew. 6-0 Scott Williamson warming up in the "pen".
  16. Back to back walks. Z getting animated on the mound. 90 pitches already thrown. We'll be seeing the bullpen soon. Bases loaded, nobody out for Koskie. Let's go!
  17. Brady Clark! That was one of the prettiest catches I've ever seen.
  18. Bill hall with the ugly baserunning ... tried to take third on the throwing error but Cappy was already standing there and couldn't advance. Ground out to 2B followed. Hall's mistake probably cost a run.
  19. Good eye, Hall. Bases loaded, 1 out, Jenks up.
  20. 1st and 3rd, nobody out ... everyone safe on the sac bunt attempt! I actually get to watch the game while posting today. Thank you WGN. Err, 1 out ... Weeks witha strikeout after a decent at bat. DP will get Z out of the inning,
  21. The 11th is my birthday, so I call one of the better brats! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I think my grandparents will be coming out to cheer on the team, they might be interested in a little food ... not sure. Thank you!!
  22. Grass infields? Interesting. Wonder how much adjusting we'll have to do since we've practiced on dirt infields.
  23. You think so? A day game in April? I think they'll be lucky to draw 10,000.
  24. Just got back from the game! Top of the order is still a black hole, but good to see we're winning through it these last two days. Great control from Ohka tonight (and Hudson as well ... was there even a walk tonight until the 9th?) giving him success despite not looking dominating. Carlos, Prince, and Jenks each with a big hit, great to see. Nice bunt by Brady on the PH to move Miller to second with just one out (which we couldn't cash in ... see black hole comment above). And lastly, I simply LOVE that they're playing the first few seconds of Rush's "Limelight" when Koskie comes to the plate. Go Canada!
  25. The May 26th stop in Hingham would be a lot closer, no?
