  1. Stupid Micah Owings. Who told the D'Backs they were allowed to have a DH? Seriously, the dude can rake.
  2. From the left field bleachers, Bill Hall was akin to Bonds or Sheffield as far as hatred of a player goes tonight. "Butt" hole chants when he came up to bat, and "you still suck" when he got his hit in the 8th. Bill's not my favorite person in Milwaukee right now but fan display was unacceptable.
  3. Way to be a trooper, fellow Madisonian. I'll be there tonight as well to see the most amusing pitching matchup so far this season. The Brewers are 2-3 with me in attendance, but 2-0 at Miller Park. Keep the winning streak going!
  4. His last two pitches were 89 mph fastballs and not even close. He was done.
  5. Dear Mr. 3TO, Make yourself heard on brewerfan.net. We don't bite... Mostly...
  6. Hittracker measures it at only 400. It seemed like more than that to me too. Interestingly enough, the Braun homer off Papelbon earlier that day that anded in the 2nd row of the monster was measure at 399. That ball got out in about 1.5 seconds. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/
  7. I was away from the computer all weekend and just catching up on everyone's thoughts on the details of this weekend's action. I heard the game on the radio so didn't get to see the question on television. This sounds like the Johnny Carson Carnac skit where we are suppose to guess the question when you give us the answer. A thread in the other forum has me thinking the question was - name the two Brewers most likely to make outs on the basepaths recently? Am I close? Most grand slams in 2007, actually. But you're right, those are two bad baserunners.
  8. Not off to a good start on Memorial Day...Weeks leading off has the count at 1-2, while FSN shows the count 3-0. The 1-2 pitch is then popped foul with the camera staying on the pitcher as Dmitri Young drops the ball along the railing.
  9. Kapler, Gagne, Tavarez...this team is officially the Red Sox' trash pile...
  10. Grrr...feels like...Sunday on the road. Mired in mediocrity...again.
  11. http://www.mlb-trade-rumors.com/images/JulianTavarez.jpg http://www.horrormagazine.it/imgbank/NEWS/freddy01.jpg I always thought that comparison was rather apt... I can't stand Tavarez, and I can only hope Melvin is aware that Tavarez would probably spend time on the DL for some rage-induced injury...
  12. I think it's all just about how pitchers learned to work him. No more fastballs on the inner half = far fewer homers.
  13. Nobody's talking about pitching...we have 2 starters with ERA of 6, and outside of Big Ben, Dave Bush is our only starter anywhere close to having a decent WHIP...Not to mention our $10 million closer is out "indefinitely" and our team ERA is good for 15th in the NL. We'll get our runs, and our defense is better than last year (largely due to Cameron and our new 3B situation) but I think we'll pitch our way out of contention...again.
  14. That out call on the double steal was a terrible call by the ump, but it doesn't change the fact that we need to stop those stupid plays. They are way to risky for the potential "reward."
  15. We didn't just sit around...they liked having us hang around the concession stands paying for their hot dogs and massively overpriced beer.
  16. Just win, baby. Go out and have fun, Brewers.
  17. "I was amazed by how many people, mostly Boston fans, who stopped me to compliment me on my "Tropical Tuesday" jersey." Hey, I think I saw you! My friend commented on the jersey. Anyway, the weekend was fun, despite the losses. I'm proud of Brewers fans for their presence...A few fans and a hot dog vendor told me that was the most opposing fans they'd ever seen at Fenway, I overheard a few people wondering why there were so many of us, and the incredulous looks of Sox fans when "Let's Go Brewers" chants rang through the bleachers on Saturday were all pretty sweet. Also, I don't think we got heckled in a mean-spirited way all weekend, even after getting swept...With the exception of the Johnny-come-lately's, Sox fans are humbled by their many years of failure, and were more interested in talking about Hah-vey's Wallbangah's and Millah Pahk than making fun of us...same goes for the ticket-takers who went out of their way to welcome us to Boston...I don't really like the Red Sox, but most of their fans really impressed me. One note on in-game atmosphere though...it's not as hardcore as its made out to be...for example, most of the fans (at least in our sections) weren't standing until 2 strikes and 2 outs in the 9th inning. I've been to a few Brewers games with more passionate crowds (ex: the 13 inning game against the Mets last July had a standing, cheering, and chanting crowd for most of extras).
  18. I predicted about 1,000 fans from our side per game...turns out that was pretty conservative. Fenway last night was actually pretty fun...even though there was no game, walking around the park and taking in the scene and chatting with Brewers fans was great. Red Sox fans are mostly fine, until you go out into the bleachers, in which case it suddenly feels like Wrigley. Have I mentioned that New Englanders, while skilled, have nothing on Wisconsinites as far as holding their liquor goes? One last note: Fenway Franks are AMAZING.
  19. Wow...Benny tore the cover off of that one...and broke up the no-hitter. Amazing.
  20. I wanted to get an official thread going for all Brewerfan.net-er's in Beantown next weekend... I'll be there with 2 tickets in RF Box Friday, Bleachers Saturday, SRO Sunday.
  21. Nope. Even if the lineup plays up to their expectations, we just don't have the pitching.
  22. It is actually really nice to have a pitcher go longer than 6. Offense on the other hand...
  23. So tell me how is this national TV if it seems like only the Wisconsin and Missouri markets get the game, and the color commentator is our own color guy?
  24. Rickie is my hero!!! Wow...from 2 out no one on to the win. Great game Brewers...please keep it up!
  25. Aaand...the IGT turns in to the 'Drunk Thread. Part II" P.S...JJ and Prince...anytime you feel like playing defense would be great.
