  1. After this year, make that 21-3. Only the Yankees won games 2 and 3.
  2. You could ask for clarification in a less abrasive way.
  3. At this point I'm rooting for the Dodgers and let's make it a full on revenge tour to the WS.
  4. He was talking about a Brewers player in 2023. This isn't about the Braves.
  5. "I’m not the best. None of our group is. But if you’re telling me another team is the best??? Man, I swear. I haven’t seen them. No one better than Milwaukee right now. No one better than US."
  6. Worth noting: Game 1 winners are 18-2 in the 3-game era.
  7. Yeah, this is where I am too. We can't live scared about the Cubs. We're the best team in baseball. The Cubs' bullpen is not that great, and if Horton still isn't available, that's a huge loss on that side too.
  8. To be fair, it was the Reds. It was obvious that they were the team that snuck in and didn't belong. Mets likely would have looked the same.
  9. Agreed, the crowd just exploded. Also, the sustained boos for Machado were hilarious.
  10. This may be the only time I approve of a Machado homer.
  11. I wasn't at that one to compare, but 2018 NLCS Game 6 was by far the best sporting experience I've had.
  12. Although it didn't work out at all. Kittredge gives up hits to the lefties (and a run) and Imanaga has no problem with them in the 3rd.
  13. This was an interesting nugget when I first read about the challenge system that I hadn't appreciated before. Well, to go back even further, I hadn't realized until the whole robot discussion started that the actual strike zone was if it crossed the plate anywhere in the 3D space of the plate. Growing up I'd always assumed it was as it crosses home plate - and maybe that's practically how it's going to work in most cases except for extreme backdoor pitches from the side or top. In any case, it makes sense that they're just taking a cross-section in the middle of the plate as a sort of average/midpoint compromise, but it's still not going to be 100% perfect. Still, nearly everything will be correct.
  14. That seems like just a wee bit of an overreaction. Wainright, especially, as far as I know, is a pretty great human being, regardless of what uniform he put on.
  15. That's the beauty of the challenge system. It's not really about the balls that are painting the edge. I think we can all live with those calls going either way, and it's amazing that they're called correctly as often as they are. But calls like those above will never happen again.
  16. Sure, you could say that for any team. If you're scoring 5+ runs a game, it largely won't matter. But that's usually not how the playoffs work, and I would be surprised if they make it to the WS because of how unreliable their bullpen is.
  17. Ugh. Makes sense with Philly the other game, they're going to go first. At least on Wed. you'd think that Seattle will be the late game, I'd guess Brewers will be one of the afternoon games and Philly will be 5-6pm. They should be the early game on Thurs as well assuming it's Philly@LA.
  18. This is why the Dodgers are going to have issues winning 2 more series.
  19. Interesting move by Counsell bringing in Palencia in the 5th, but I like it. If someone else comes in and gives up runs, you may not use him at all. And back-to-back HRs validate that decision.
  20. No kidding. Strikes a guy out on a 101mph sinker to end the 7th. 13k, dominant performance.
  21. Yes, exactly. These are clearly two separate statements: I think Kim is one of the only guys to target in free agency. Maybe a Bellinger type bat that goes unnoticed in free agency later if something like that were to happen to him, Naylor, Suarez, etc
