  1. Man, Yo is locked in. I hope they get at least one more hit..
  2. I agree that Tom's clearly the best character in the show so far. Otherwise it's pretty weak. But remember it took The Office a few episodes to find its legs. Once they got away from taking the exact storylines from the UK version it got better.
  3. Good grief, you're a professional pitcher, you should be able to throw strikes. Cmon guys.
  4. Man, it's scary how much this feels like Braun all over again. Which is mostly a very good thing.
  5. Opera's fit-to-width feature is sweet when you need it. Casey's on the money, as usual. I have IE, FF, Opera, Chrome, and Safari all open right now for some site testing, and I've found as he states that Chrome and Safari act the same. Opera and Firefox are fairly similar in rendering, although they have their differences. And then IE's is it's own little world of terribleness. If I were a full time web developer I think I would kill myself.
  6. It's going to be really sweet if/when all browsers support css3.
  7. rickey, I found your instructions confusing. You say the winner would bring a check made out to the charity, but also have a money order for the amount of the bid?
  8. Just a reminder for folks who aren't aware: If you go to brewerfan.net and create an account (not a yuku account) you have the option of getting email notifications for stuff like P50 updates, transactions, etc. Take advantage of it!
  9. Open up Notepad, type your vent, close. Problem solved! Vent threads really don't add anything of merit, other than making people feel good that they can express their overly emotional outbursts in a public place. As has been noted above, we have NEVER discouraged negative posting, just posting (postive or negative) that is completely emotional with no real support or point. Hopefully we're all capable of finding useful ways to blow off steam. Go hit a baseball or something.
  10. If somehow Avon is the new branch manager, we know it's really going to get weird.
  11. I liked this movie better the first time when it was called Jerry Maguire
  12. I hate when Michael acts in ways that are just absurdly unrealistic. No one like that would still have a job.
  13. I can't imagine a scenario in which Kendall leading off actually makes sense. Unless we've jumped in a time machine.
  14. We ask the questions here!! I'm going to use that joke.
  15. Yeah, Season 3 was more of a waste of time, but 4 wasn't too bad, and it's been great so far this year.
  16. Hm, that's an interesting point statman.
  17. I don't understand what Ben gained from strangling Locke rather than letting him hang himself and then take the ring and whatever. Was he really not going to, and then when he heard Jin was alive he changed his mind?
  18. bjk, I think the problem was that they said the card had some sort of auto-erase mechanism, so they only had one chance to download the data. Thus if it was formatted, everything was lost. cubfan, I was thinking the same thing about Dubaku. I suppose it's hard to do anything well for 7 years, but honestly, we've seen all this before, and it's getting to the point of self-parody.
  19. I thought it was hilarious and entirely predictable that Sean Penn is now the world's greatest human being. I agree that art direction was fantastic, and thought Jackman did a fine enough job, although I wouldn't mind Fey and Martin doing a whole show together. My wife was miffed that they didn't show clips of the nominees this year.
  20. The collective HR departments of all government agencies are really the most ludicrous part of the 24 universe. For once it would be nice if there were no one on the inside.
  21. From TH: Cory Provus, formerly of WGN Radio and the Chicago Cubs, was introduced this morning as the Milwaukee Brewers' newest radio broadcaster. Provus, 30, was introduced on WTMJ-AM (Radio 620), the flagship for the Brewers' radio network. "I can't wait to get going," he told WTMJ this morning. Provus will replace Jim Powell, who had called Brewers' games on radio with Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker for 13 seasons. Powell has joined the Atlanta Braves. The Brewers moved quickly to make sure Provus was in place in time for the first spring training game on Feb. 25 against the Oakland A's. Provus was in the Brewers' sights early on and was a finalist with Jeff Munn, who hosts pre- and post-game radio shows for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Provus is a native of Highland Park, Ill., and a graduate of Syracuse University. At WGN, Provus handled pre- and post-game Cubs shows and working play-by-play on Cubs games for one inning, spelling regular Cubs announcer Pat Hughes in the 5th inning. Before coming to WGN Radio, Provus worked radio play-by-play on broadcasts of Alabama-Birmingham football, basketball and baseball games. On the radio this morning, Provus cited two broadcast influences in his life: Brad Sham, the voice of the Dallas Cowboys, who happens to be Provus' cousin, and Pat Hughes, the radio voice of the Chicago Cubs and a former Brewers' radio broadcaster.
