  1. X, it's Marco Scutaro. Not Marcos. Count me in the group of not wanting a Halladay/Parra swap. If Parra goes the way of JDLR then yeah, it's a good move, but I'm not to the point of making that bet yet. If he figures it out, that's a lot of years of good cheap pitching. Beyond that, I'll be excited if we get him, but I'm glad it's not my call!
  2. FYI, I had tipped it over over the wrong way and the air filter was clogged with oil. The good news is that's an easy fix, the bad news is I had to pay someone else to figure it out for me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Nate, the big problem with your deal is that there's no stud prospect close to or in the major leagues. Sure those may be decent prospects, but it's weighted far to low in the system. Regardless of whether you think there is a chance of the big guns being dealt, the point is that's what it's going to take. It doesn't matter how you'd prefer to structure a deal, it's coming up with what Toronto is asking for, and what you have is not it.
  4. Actually, I've read several places that the replacement players have to be the next highest vote getters from the players. To which Rob Neyer responded today (paraphrasing), "see, players are just as dumb as the fans."
  5. Am I crazy, or does he kinda look like Viggo Mortensen?
  6. Seriously? You think Toronto would take that offer? Agree with BCR, that wouldn't even get us Sabathia last year.
  7. Cool, you have given me hope. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Spark plug is out and drying as we speak..
  8. Yesterday I hit a stump with my mower (which I've gone over countless times before, grr) and bent the blade. So I put it on its side to replace the blade, but didn't think to drain anything first, and noticed some oil and gas seeped out in the process. Now after replacing the blade today, I can't get it to start. It'll chug for a couple cycles and then peter out. I had started it again initially after I hit the stump, before I realized it was horribly bent, so I'm hoping that it's not a bad crankshaft but something to do with being on its side. Any advice?
  9. We refinanced a couple months ago and just about hit the bottom perfectly. ~4.6% for a 15yr..
  10. As others have said already, I don't disagree with Melvin's response, but I wish we weren't watching this play out in the media. I don't see how anything good can come of this that wouldn't be better handled internally.
  11. Use the existing TGJ thread: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=18053
  12. Maybe it's just me, but I'm sick of everything being sponsored and think it's incredibly tacky.
  13. (I'm obviously just watching Gameday) That still stinks. Terrible baserunning, especially with nobody out. There's no excuse.
  14. Please tell me that wasn't a straight steal attempt by Prince.
  15. All of the rants of how safe and harmless pot is and how it should be legalized are a little silly and quite irrelevant to the situation. MiLB has rules, and Jeffress is either too stupid or too addicted to stick to the rules. I sure hope he either wisens up or gets the help he needs while he's out, it'd be a darn shame and a waste of talent.
  16. This thread couldn't have waited until we actually *were* out of it? Maybe things will go downhill the next couple weeks and we'll be well back of the division and WC. Or maybe things will be roughly status quo and this conversation will still be irrelevant. Regardless, Melvin is most assuredly not thinking about selling right now. As you said JB, "if the team is out of it isn't it a perfect time to let Escobar get used to major league pitching?" The team is not out of it, and your premise is false. You say you're not trying to be negative, but I'm not sure why you would start a thread advocating the Brewers should sell when they *are* still in it.
  17. As reported by Adam in the game wrap, Stetter now owns a Brewers record: his last eleven outs have been strikeouts. That tops Sheets, who had 10. That's amazing.
  18. Whatever happens (or doesn't), I'm a huge fan of Doug's "strike early" philosophy. Getting another couple weeks from the player is great, as we all learned last year.
