  1. Clancy, that doesn't make sense. If the Cubs are better than us, then they win the division. How good they are has nothing to do with whether we win the wild card or not. We just need to be better than the 2nd place NL East team.
  2. Given the existence of the baseball icon, it's at least very easy to tell visually which threads are new. I suppose if you're on dialup it'd be nice not to load the rest of the page, but otherwise it's not like it's dragging you down or anything.
  3. Man, 2 solid ones in a row: The Visitor is also great. Heartwrenching, but good. Loved Richard Jenkins' character. Agree with the The Happening comments. I'm stunned Shamalyan came up with that pile of crap. And Wahlberg's performance is analogous to Natalie Portman in Star Wars -- you know they're good in other movies, but somehow it was an epic fail. On RoCo's list, I enjoyed Get Smart quite a bit, but the other 2 were kind of "meh" for me.
  4. I agree with HTR, I'm not sure why 6/110 is better than 5/100.
  5. Son of Rambow You must watch this. Absolutely delightful.
  6. Yeah, definitely a solid ep. Heck, it was worth it just for the first couple minutes. Explain it as if I were an 8 years old... Ok, explain it as if I were 5 years old.
  7. Well, one thing it would take is Giles wanting to be traded, which he has declined to approve thus far.
  8. The first thing to do is figure out what type and size of camera you want (pocket, ultra zoom, or something in the middle?), as that will greatly narrow your options. I would recommend http://dcresource.com and http://dpreview.com as sites to base your research from. Far more in depth than CNET. Don't forget that megapixels are a huge marketing scam. Don't pick a camera just because it has a bigger number.
  9. D'oh, that's what I get for not reading closely. Then I'm slightly more concerned, but still not too worried yet.
  10. Yes, how could playing for the Yankees not be the lifelong dream of any rational human being?
  11. No way. Jim has commented on how much he prefers radio over TV, I don't buy it as a serious, plus he's firmly entrenched his family in Milwaukee. Yes, he's a Georgia boy, but still. That said, I would be crushed if he left. JP's the man.
  12. Just reading "spiral fracture" makes me hurt.
  13. Creed's look of shock/worry/"oh no" when the cops walked in was great. Regarding the general discussion, I much prefer when Michael is just inept and awkward to the times (like planting drugs to get someone fired) that require a serious suspension of belief. When it's supposedly a realistic documentary, I just can't get into absurd behavior like that, I think it makes his character far less appealing.
  14. I agree with Marc, if CC for sure wasn't coming back to Milwaukee, I would assume he would have informed them immediately that their offer wasn't going to cut it. I'm still surprised we're still waiting for other offers to come in - one of the LA teams has to be interested..
  15. 110/6 wouldn't even be as good as the Brewers offer.
  16. It would blow my mind if there end up being no other offers. Really, no other team can afford to even top 5/$100? That can't be true. At the same time, it's not like it's been a secret that CC is going to be a free agent, there's no reason why an interested team wouldn't have submitted an offer by now..
  17. Dear God. Now I'm really sad that FJM is gone. They couldn't have written sample fodder any better.
  18. Howard isn't even his team's MVP. At least they got the winner right though, can't complain about that. And congrats to Braun for such a high finish.
  19. The 2007 fifth-round Draft is hitting .2xx Where does an x fall on the 0-9 scale? Is that better or worse? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Not that I expect him back, but can you imagine how big of a folk hero CC becomes if he spurns the Yankees to be in Milwaukee? It would be unreal. I think right now I'm assuming one of the West Coast teams will offer him something less than NY and he'll take it. But if that 6th year isn't that important to him (if he doesn't completely collapse he'll still get another decent contract), all bets are off, because we aren't worlds apart.
  21. Similarly it sure sounds like Wood is done in Chicago, so as long as they didn't sign before the arby deadline, there's probably nothing to worry about.
  22. Life is no longer worth living.
  23. Let's not let this thread digress into a discussion of defensive range ratings. Feel free to start another thread to accomplish that purpose.
