  1. Definitely was our park today. I was with a group that had the Air Tran warning track section (interesting, food and all is great, but view is not great, IMHO) and we had a few Cub fans with us. They were fine, but again, they were with Milwaukee friends/family. Yes, and someone says, Lew can really slow a game down. As you can imagine, the crowd went insane in the 9th.
  2. We are battling! (shout out to Ned), (but the change was necessary)
  3. He may catch on somewhere, but if was smart, saved his money, he should call it a career. He should just savor that he finally made it to the WS, and won as well. Nice to have that as your career closer.
  4. It seems too me that I have been rewarded for 17 straight years of partial ticket packages. Over the years, I have worked my way to row 17 behind home plate, with two on the aisle (had those last four years). I would bet that not skipping a year helped, one may go to the back if you drop a year, although I am not sure of that. It does help if you form a relationship with your AE. I have spoken often with him, and always call him if I need extra tickets. He has always been gracious, helpful, and has broken a few rules. Heck, even if you don't need anything, and have never spoken with a your rep, give him/her a call to say hi. Even a phone relationship is helpful. Hawing: My kids always laugh at me when I take the "walk" around the concourse. Nice to say they have been much less in the last few years.
  5. Just to add my experience. I am on my 17th year of partial season package ownership. So far, and even this year, I have go nothing but the best service from my several and current ticket reps. They have been helpful, solved problems, found extra seats, etc. I hope they never cease to do so for the small time, non corporate fan. So far, so good.
  6. Too bad for Boof. Too bad for fans, he was fun to watch, and has one of the best names ever in baseball! Booooooooooooooooooooof Bonnnnzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
  7. I think it's great Eric is getting a lot of love here, and I am right there with the majority. Yet, gotta chuckle. What's the over under when the moniker "Gagme" gets resurrected? Any way, welcome back to Eric and his asbestos underwear.
  8. I do not remember the details but I do recall that once, maybe twice, Gagne did some really great things helping local charities, giving away tickets or something to that affect. I recall I thought it was really amazing since he would get booed before he even threw a pitch. Let's hope this works out for him and the Brewers (and us)!
  9. I got in for marquee tix, made a purchase, and then screwed up by buying them, not putting them in the cart. I called my AE, but got his VM. Called the 902-4000, got in the que, then got disconnected. Called back, got an answer, explained my screw up, and a very nice and efficient lady took care of me and placed the rest of my order. I then went back online to buy a few regular games, but got all kinds of "time out," "virtual waiting room" etc. Just left the PC on while I did other stuff, eventually gave up and left for a while. Just now, my AE called me back, and took care of my regular game order. He said that the contractor who provideds the site backbone was having all kinds of problems. They supply all MLB, and quite a few teams put tickets up today. So, I have to give Brewer ticket folks props for coming through, at least in my case.
  10. My letter was dated Jan 22. Alsos include a opportunity to buy two opening day tix
  11. I am hiding in a tree near her front door smeared in bear grease and wearing a potato sack. I'll let you know how she reacts to your gift.
  12. Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! How can I livvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve without you? Just kidding. Funny we devote pages to a sportscaster, but hey, it's hot stove time. Yet, it is obvious Trenni is popular. Here she was, a young and attractive women who knew her baseball, could interview anyone, hold her own on the D list, and probably drink a lot of us under the table. Basically she was real and approachable, a girl in a guys world who we all liked. Good luck, Trenni as your carreer expands! We will always root for you.
  13. Ewizzabeff, How cool, your dad is the High Life guy! LOL! Seriously, my daughter is also mid 20's. She lives in NYC, but usually gets home for at least one game. She does get to a Brewer Mets game once or twice a year as well. She has a ball I caught of a Robin Yount foul in his last year. She had to teach me how to text (T9 - Word, and I am really good at it) so I can give her updates when I am at a game. Great to see how you enjoy games with Pops, I am sure he loves it as well.
  14. Sunday afternoon, back from the game. The weather is gloomy, sort of a post game funk. Sad to see the season end like this, but not a surprise. Given our six week batting slump, and relying on a guy who has not pitched well since August, no surprise. Yet, these are our weaknesses, and they were exploited. No surprise. Yet, I feel good. Baseball has been important to me most of my 59 years. My first game at Wrigley, yes, Wrigley in 57. My brother Pat, Dad (both gone now) and a guy who had a hook for a hand - WWII vet. It was against Pittsburgh. Pat, always the contrarian, became a Pirate fan after that. No idea who won. Years and years, many games. Cub Scout trips to Comiskey. Loved that old place with its dark concourse, quirky spaces, and the exploding scoreboard. Fast forward. We move to Milwaukee in 81. Lucky to marry a lady who is as well a fan. Already, we had been raising the two boys to be fans, started the oldest in Cincinnati, and then number two son in Chicago. Our 1981 daughter had no choice, going to Brewer's games at a very early age. Our fourth, a son, came along in 1989, and has attended more games with me than anyone. So, where is this going? Milwaukee baseball is a uniting thread for us, something we as a family have enjoyed, and agonized together for years. In 82 I took number one son to the WS, last home game, he was seven. We won. Today, we went to his first playoff game in 26 years. Yesterday, youngest son came home for our win. He was with me for the first game at MP, and the All Star game. He would have walked home from UW Eau Claire for the game. Even better, number two son, who now lives in Siberia, yes Siberia, is home for a bit. We went to the clutch game against the Cubs. He was ecstatic, no MLB in Siberia. Unfortunately, our daughter could not get back in town from NYC. So, a great up and down ride, but no matter what, our time together was again special, and will always be remembered. Going forward, look at my avatar, that is number one son (The Bwaz on BF Net) with his son, first trip to MP. So, it will go on. His memories are just beginning.
  15. Dad, Doug said it well. The play was not routine, since Bill bobbled the bunt, removing the DP. Yet, the throw to Rickie was straight, true and a catch he should make all the time. Hence, "routine." Well. off to shave now.
  16. Gosh, I am such a buzz kill. I am doing nothing. If I thought not changing my shorts, shaving, showering or clipping my toe nails would help Rickie Weeks catch a routine throw, I would gladly embrace the scruffy appearance. Not going to happen.
  17. Gotta chuckle. After all the hate for Counsell most of this year, funny to see this. (Not referring to you specifically, Tigerbrew)
  18. Fun to read old vent thread posts!
  19. 110, row 8. seats 8-9. Moved from my usual 119 row 17. Not bad at all, finally a reward for 16 straight years of being a partial season seat holder.
  20. In my many, many, way to many years watching B ball, back to growing up in Chicago, and my last 16 years as a partial game seat holder: I have never experienced, felt or seen a anything like today at Miller Park. It was so loud, you could feel it. The win. Then watching the game on the scoreboard. The clinch! Players out on the field running around like little kids. Thanks Crew, let's win some more games. but for two days, let's enjoy!

  22. Just to get on the record, we won this game in spite of Ned being an idiot, moron and totally worthless.
  23. I post as a guy who is rehabbing a knee - a much worse injury (quad rupture) than Yo, and I am no where near a young major leauge player. (Very no where!) However, I have learned much about knees through 7 months of rehab. Yo's arm is probably great. What the team will need to evaluate is the running, fielding, twisting, pivoting that a pitcher has to do. His knee stability is a major an issue. I have to believe the team will be ultra conservative with his health.
  24. Protecting against an extra base hit down the line, almost conceding a run on a high chopper. Basically, risk reward management.
