  1. I think everyone in the league would trade Yuni for a prospect like that. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anyone in the league who would trade a prospect like that for Yuni.
  2. we won this trade the second the angels didnt re-sign Greinke. I'd say we would have won the trade even without a resigning. Whoever Greinke signed with in the offseason should be treated differently because he basically had the choice of every team in the league (I realize this is unrealistic since there were only a few who could have afforded him). So we were still getting 6 years of control of Segura/Hellweg/Pena for a half season Greinke.
  3. Just rebrowsed a bit and I love how Brewmann04 kept insisting how shocked we would be when Greinke resigned with us. And obviously we all knew that that was not going to happen but he repeatedly insisted on it.
  4. Exactly my thinking. He was falling after every outside pitch. I'm sure the coaches have noticed this too and may have even said something to him. So I don't know why he hasn't been able to adjust yet.
  5. Haven't we basically agreed there is really no way to "prove" clutchness. Saying so does not make it true. I agree Weeks shouldn't be hitting cleanup but using "proof" that he isn't clutch is not a "legit reason."
  6. I'd rather have Lucroy sit once every 5 days. Catchers get worn out quicker than other positions. And past production doesn't necessarily equal future.
  7. This is probably my favorite thread of all-time already.
  8. Add me to those who hated the deal more because of the loss of draft pick than because of Lohse himself. Sure I don't think Lohse will repeat his past 2 years but I also don't see him as a 5+ ERA guy either. He's a pretty decent pitcher. And he would most likely help this year and probably next. But I didn't see him as the missing link either in being a WS contender so I thought the draft pick was more valuable. But I will definitely cheer for him and enjoy watching him pitch.
  9. Watched that this morning. Unreal how he kept going nonstop. And it actually sounded like a pretty decent plot, other than the whole ****SPOILER***** Marvel crossover stuff. But opening with Boba Fett hand's coming out of the Sarlacc would be sweet. As would the Robot Chewbacca.
  10. I remember when the IC title actually meant something. That and the US and hell, basically every championship doesn't mean anything now. I don't get it.
  11. 6 1st Row Bleachers Sunday 4/21 vs. the Cubs. George Scott Bobblehead day. Looking for $30 per ticket. PM me if interested.
  12. Putting the winning run on base? Against Gonzalez? I really don't get this, especially with Beltran available.
  13. The guy after him in the lineup today is starting to heat up and has, historically, been a good hitter with RISP. A radical idea might be to put him in the 4 spot. We all know catchers can't hit cleanup.
  14. My favorite part of the video: "That's fertilizer, says Matt Kemp." Obviously he was saying a different kind of f-word.
  15. Obviously it is possible to be worse than the current bullpen but it'd be difficult. I'd take just about anyone over Gonzalez.
  16. Are fans really throwing just lids? I read it as getting rid of lids so fans don't throw whole sodas (i.e. if you threw a soda without a lid it wouldn't go very far cuz the soda would fly out). But yeah that still seems rather flimsy.
  17. Anything less than an 8 team league shouldn't exist, especially an all MLB league. I don't even like being in my 8 man league myself, I'd rather have 10-12.
  18. That happens to me a few times a year.
  19. If Melvin thinks a prospect can help them win now he will trade them or bring them up and not worry about the later which is the same general concept that others are complaining about, just this is the area I don't like how he does it the most. I'll give you the fact that he doesn't plan for the future very well. However, Green, Gamel, and quite a few other guys were probably in a position to help them yet they never got the call. When Green was tearing it up and we had Felipe Lopez 2.0 comes to mind.
  20. I absolutely loathe the Bluemound lots. The bathroom situation is horrible just about everywhere but it's the worst there. Plus, it takes forever to get out of that lot after the game. I don't think the atmosphere is any different there than the other general lots. The only reason I could see of in wanting to park there is because it's basically the only original lot left from County Stadium, if I'm not mistaken.
  21. You keep saying this but that doesn't make it true. It may have been true in the past with Weeks/Hardy but that's about it. Fielder was obviously going to be a stud. He was brought up to DH and get some PH appearances but I don't think he was rushed. Braun was a stud as well and obviously wasn't rushed. In the past five years, I can't really think of anyone who was aggressively promoted, except for Segura. But that was basically because the season was thought lost and Melvin wanted something to show the fans. I think the signing of Lohse shows that Melvin isn't aggressive with prospects since Peralta will probably be sent to AAA. You might argue that he's not ready but if someone is aggressive like you say, whether or not he's ready wouldn't matter.
  22. If it's going in the basement, I would definitely go plasma.
  23. Depends on where it's going. Generally: Dark room=plasma is better. Ambient light=LED better.
