  1. David Wright is putting on a defensive clinic tonight.
  2. I was just checking fantasy stats and saw an insane amount of pitchers used by both teams in a 9 inning game. It had nothing to do with the score.
  3. Yeah I remember BA and Schroeder talking about that during a broadcast earlier this year.
  4. Anyone following Reds/Pirates? 13 combined pitchers used and it's only Top 9. Dusty's used 3 guys to go 1/3 of an inning and 3 to go 2/3.
  5. There's the offense we've been waiting for.
  6. I wouldn't go that far. We need Braun in the lineup. I'll take a stern talking to but no reason to sit arguably our best player simply because he got tossed (which rarely happens). You are probably right but if there ever was a time to get your point across to a star player it would be now, wih a 7 game lead. It was stupid but I don't think it deserves a benching. If it was someone like Milton Bradley who always gets into it with umpires then sure. But like I said, Braun rarely gets tossed. There is absolutely no reason to bench him after this one incident.

  8. You idiot Braun. Yeah this guys strike zone is kinda off but you can't bark at him all day like that. Just stupid.
  9. Not really, this is only his 65th game since he missed two months. Plus he plays half his games at Citi Field, one of the biggest parks in the league. So if he played a full year, he'd probably have 25 HR and close to 100 RBI.
  10. Yeah but that doesn't mean really anything since normally he is awful. So I wouldn't say he's in a slump since this is basically what's expected out of him. A slump would imply hitting less than expected.
  11. This Mets lineup is atrocious. They basically have no one but Wright and Pagan in there.
  12. Well it obviously wasn't anti-injury pills.
  13. Normally I would hope for him to go something like 0-45 to prove to management that he has nothing left but since that already happened once this year and he's still on the team, I'll take that line too.

  15. I don't know, just because someone is in good shape doesn't make them a good wrestler IMO. I never considered Nash that great of an in-ring performer (though I was a big nWo fan) so this doesn't really excite me. I do agree though that a gimmick match like HIAC would make it a lot better than a straight up one-on-one. I just wish they would've kept the Punk/Cena feud going until Survivor Series. Then they could've started focusing on Cena/Rock. But who knows, maybe Creative has something up its sleeve (though I won't hold my breath considering how much they've dropped the ball in the past).
  16. Apparently Counsell's career 2-5 against Pelfrey makes him deserving of a start.
  17. If you buy a Chinese counterfeit, you're committing a crime. It's illegal, hands down, no way to justify it. It's the same concept as bootleg DVD's. Not legal. If the seller claims he's legitimate, you're still doing something illegal. Actually, there is a defense if the buyer reasonably believes that the jerseys are legitimate. There is also a debate as to whether the buyer could be prosecuted if they are buying for personal use. If they are buying to resell, then they are putting themselves in the chain of selling counterfeit goods, which is obviously illegal. However, if they are buying for personal use, that may be legal. The government could seize any goods bought for personal use but may not be able to prosecute the buyer. So yes, sometimes there is justification. If the seller is representing them as real, they look real (such as having official patches and tags), and a person could reasonably believe they are real, then there is a defense. It's not all or nothing. Also, there's no reason for you to be condescending with your stealing things comment. I was simply stating what my experience was.
  18. I actually read the WWE Creative wants to start a Punk/Nash angle with them eventually meeting in the ring. They said they wanted a "big" name for Punk to feud with to help him get over. Apparently Cena wasn't a big enough name and Punk wasn't over enough. Nash has absolutely nothing left in the ring and he's 52. For some reason, people at TNA and WWE think guys over 40 and even 50 are main event worthy. Some guys can still hack it (Angle, Sting, Undertaker) but I'm starting to get sick of these guys being the main focus just because they are bigger names. The young talent needs to be pushed because they are the future.
  19. I agree with everything but the Rogers bit. There's no reason to believe Mark Rogers will ever be healthy enough to pitch for the Brewers. Well supposedly he will be at 100% well before Spring Training since he's having the surgery now. Whether he can remain at 100% is another question.
  20. There's another play that needs to be made by Prince.
  21. It's hard to stay sharp when you pitch once a month. Also, two guys reached on plays that should have been made and one of which should've been an inning-ending DP. Plus, everyone knows Dillard shouldn't pitch to lefties.
  22. There's no evidence that shows they aren't either. They really haven't been given much of a chance (I'm not counting Gamel's 27 PA this year) outside of 2009 for Gamel, in which he did a pretty good job. The point is, Gamel/Green are superior talents (like you say they very well may be). The question that should be asked is "does the difficulty of pinch-hitting outweigh the talent difference between Kotsay and Gamel/Green?" I don't think so. You are also acting like Gamel was completely worthless in his few major league stints. He had 27 PA this year and OPS .302. First, obviously a small sample size. Second, I remember his first couple of games up he hit some of the hardest balls I've seen this year, they just didn't happen to find holes. He then had 17 PA last year which again, way too small to determine anything of value. Finally, he had 148 PA in 2009, in which he OPSed .760 when he was 23. That's .100 higher than Kotsay this year. So while there have been small sample sizes each year, the biggest sample size actually shows he's had some success. And while he may have only been 3 for 20 as a PH in 2009, he was 23 and I think he would be able to outperform that number now (considering his overall numbers in the minors have improved each year since then).
  23. This is how the Brewers defense is "great." Two pretty routine plays made by average defenders are not scored errors. Because of that, people will think "oh they don't have many errors so they must be good." Also, now Dillard's ERA may take a hit, resulting in Roenicke thinking he sucks and he will now not pitch the rest of the year.
