  1. What are you talking about? Do you really think Barahas' hit was catchable?I think he's saying that Hairston was busting his ass on the play but it never seems like Braun does the same in the field. Not saying it's true but might look like it.
  2. Because it was an 18-hopper to CF. Gomez probably would've had an inside the park HR on it.But he could be slower than McGehee.
  3. How do you not throw out Barajas? And now Loe is an idiot and throws it away.
  4. He hit that ball pretty hard. A foot to the left or right and it probably scores a run.
  5. Roenicke needs to stop with this squeeze crap! I don't care if players are missing signs, it's still a stupid call.
  6. Well, he made up for it there. Nice to see him get a couple of outs at home the past few days.
  7. How in the hell does Prince not keep his feet on the bag there? I know he's short but his foot was right there.
  8. Didn't want to quote the whole thing but responding to post above. Do you really think 90% of the people know about these websites and have actually bought from them? I didn't find out about them until last year. I find it hard to believe that all the 40+ somethings I see with jerseys are buying them from China. Also, your friends must have bought from someone making these out of their basement if they are falling apart after a couple of washes. I bought most of mine from a website and haven't had any problems. My parents both have jerseys like the Molitor/Yount ones I showed above and have been wearing them last season and this season and so have seen probably at least 10 washes with no problems. All of the football and hockey ones I have from the website (most people couldn't tell any difference just by looking at them but I haven't compared them side-to-side with "real" ones) I have worn and washed 10+ times with no problems as well. I have also bought jerseys from ebay with no problems. Just because it's on ebay doesn't mean it's obviously counterfeit. I bought a Leinart Cardinal's jersey off ebay 5 years ago with Reebok tags and everything for $50. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. I also bought a couple of other ones that still look good. I've also bought TV/movie jerseys off ebay that were made in the Philippines. I have a Moxon Varsity Blues jersey, an Adam Banks Mighty Ducks jersey, and a Tim Riggins Friday Night Lights jersey. Obviously these aren't made by the studios but they are made by people who make professional-looking jerseys. They were all reasonably priced ($50 for the Ducks, $20 for the football ones) and look authentic. They are also all intact after numerous washes. My point is just because someone buys something from one of these websites or off ebay doesn't mean they are automatically poor quality or fake-looking. I would say just the opposite. Most of them look as good as the "real" ones and are of just the same quality. In fact, my "knockoff" football jerseys have held up better than a $100 one I bought from Champs.

  10. Yes but players injured after that date can be replaced by anyone who was with the team (and remains so until the end of the season obviously) before that deadline as well. The replacement player would have to be placed on the 40 man if they were not already on it.
  11. What the hell is Counsell doing? Dude is over 40, why is he running? He needs to be cut, he is completely worthless.
  12. I don't know, it was kind of a fluke thing. I don't think the chances of him getting hurt were that much greater than anyone else. The chance might've been a littler higher since he never hits but it's not like he's made of glass or something.
  13. He appears to be a nice guy who works hard. I've never seen any indication that he is lazy. Slow, yes, but not lazy.I don't know if it's the same on other boards, but there's a lot of "bad play = lazy" and "slow = lazy" on BF.net.Yeah I don't think it's fair to call a guy lazy just because he doesn't get to certain balls. I actually take offense to that. Just because the guy isn't that gifted athletically doesn't make him lazy. There's no evidence that he isn't trying. A guy like Lopez I could understand but not Yuni. That being said, yes Yuni is pretty bad.
  14. Way to come through Hairston but why was McGehee going to 3rd on that? Trying to draw a throw?
  15. Alright, Yuni needs a break. Too bad our other options are Counsell, Wilson, and Lopez.
  16. He probably replaced an injured player then. I've looked all around and what I posted earlier is correct. If a guy isn't on the 25 man by August 31st, he can't be on the postseason roster unless he replaces someone who's injured after that date. So it isn't a definitive cut-off point but commissioner approval is needed (i.e. can't just make up a fake injury to someone to get them replaced).
  17. Then why is Hart leading off? I'm not saying I agree with the "speed spot" comment but if you're going that route, Weeks is faster than Hart. In fact, I'd say there's at least 4-5 guys on the team faster than Hart. You think Hart's speed has changed that much since he was the fastest player when they actually timed them all in the 60 yard dash back in '07? At the very least, I doubt Weeks after an ankle sprain would be faster than Hart. Yeah I think Hart has lost quite a few steps. Maybe it's because he's so lanky but it looks like he's a lot slower than he was. He also never seems to leg out any infield hits. And yeah I bet Weeks isn't faster than Hart with the sprain but I was assuming he'd be back at 100%.
  18. Gamel/Green. Give them spot starts to keep them fresh like Roenicke is doing with Kotsay. Obviously this is more likely with Green than Gamel since Gamel hasn't played much OF and is pretty bad at 3rd. If people are going to use Kotsay's "clutch" hits this year to defend him and ignore his otherwise terrible season, why not look at Green/Gamel? They are both OPSing near or at 1.000. Sure it's AAA but I doubt Kotsay could OPS 1.000 in AAA and I would bet that both could OPS more than Kotsay's .650. I'm not saying that I'm not happy that Kotsay has gotten a few big hits. The problem is though, he's only gotten a FEW big hits. He's done nothing the rest of the year and probably will continue to play poorly. So while he may have contributed to a couple wins by getting the game winning/tying hit, his overall poor play has probably cost them more. It's just not as easily quantifiable/memorable because walk-off hits are easier to view as directly winning a game.George Kottaras was OPSing 1.000 in PCL Nashville as well.Yeah but we've seen what Kottaras can do in the majors. Gamel/Green have also been OPSing 1.000 over the entire season, Kottaras as only down there a couple of months. Sure Gamel has gotten a few chances in the past but they were sporadic. I think part of the problem is that while Kotsay is a fine 25th guy, he's being used as a 20th guy. To me, that means that guys behind him should be cut first. I would be fine keeping Kotsay and cutting one/two of Lopez/Counsell/Wilson for Green/Gamel. I also agree that at this point in the season, it would be hard to throw a guy like Green into the mix and ask him to be your #1 PH. (I think he should've gotten the call two months ago and this point would be moot but that's another debate.). However, I don't believe that just because a guy is a rookie means he will automatically struggle. I think we should start preparing for the playoffs and since at least one of Lopez/Counsell/Wilson and possibly Hairston will be cut once Weeks/Gomez are healthy, we should just cut one of those guys now and get Green/Gamel eligible for post-season rosters. I would DFA one of those guys with the understanding they will be back up once September starts. Let's see what the young kids have so the option is at least there to use them in the playoffs.

  21. Yeah I don't have a problem if it's the 3rd inning or so. But almost every time we get to our seats sometime after 1st pitch but still in the 1st inning and there are people in our seats. I get that people want to sit in better seats if they are unoccupied but at least wait a couple of innings.
  22. Took me about a week and a half to two weeks to receive mine. However, they ended up sending me a different style jersey than what I ordered (ordered 80s style Fisk jersey but got a 90s one instead). It took me another 2-3 weeks to actually explain that nothing was wrong with that jersey, it was just a different style than what I wanted. They ended up giving me the option of sending it back (but I would have to pay for shipping) for a refund or they would give me a free jersey with my next order. I ended up going the free jersey route.
  23. Thanks to brwrsfan for realizing his mistake and removing all traces of Wil Nieves.
