  1. I saw Ray King pitch Tuesday night. I was at the Round Rock/Omaha game, and he came in to pitch for Round Rock! He was quite the imposing dude and pitched well. It's too bad the Crew didn't keep him around this year.
  2. By the way, in TH's blog, he said Prince turned down a 5 year $60 million extension. So there ya go.
  3. For most of the game, I was enjoying myself. Then the Brewers are down in the 9th and down to their last man. Ned desperately PHs Russell, in the hopes that he jacks one. The pitch.....HE DOES! The crowd goes crazy, I'm excited, scaring the dog by screaming at the TV. But of course, we go to extras. Torres pitches great in the 10th and we don't get anything. Then Tavarez comes in and we get through the 11th. I'm thinking, so far, so good. And Prince's shot WAS a homer. What's the point in having a stupid yellow line? Nevertheless, he's at 3rd. We can win the game again, but the pitcher makes a great play on Cam's liner. After that, I had this sinking feeling it was going to bomb. Granted, there aren't a whole lot of options to bring in, but Mota was throwing in the pen and then didn't come in. BA said that a few times, and wasn't sure if Mota was hurt or what. I just get frustrated by this team. They can be fun to watch, but can be worse than beginning little leaguers to watch as well. I'm getting to the point of frustration with this team, and thankfully for the next week, I will be away from a TV where I can watch the good, bad, ugly and awful. Hopefully that helps, because it doesn't matter if guys 1-8 can crush the ball, the Brewers are going nowhere if they don't have pitching. A great effort from Soup wasted.
  4. Tiger=amazing golfer. I didn't get to watch any of his shots live last night, as I chose the Brewer game, but watching the replays of his Eagles on 13 and 18 and his chip out of the sand at 17, he's stunning. I wonder if he's even human! Can't wait to see what he does today.
  5. If you owe taxes, you won't get your check. They apply it toward what you owe. Or at least they did that with me. Thanks government!
  6. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUP!
  7. The Phillies have one team rule. Hustle. If you don't, you're benched. Last time I checked, the Phillies had made it to the playoffs more recently than the Brewers
  8. Wasn't Jimmy Rollins, the reigning NL MVP sat recently during a game for not hustling to first on a pop out? When writers and others got up in arms about it, JRoll said he deserved it because it's the one club rule. Even though these guys are paid millions of dollars to play the game and execute, there is a reason a manager is in place.
  9. Back between my sophomore and junior year of college, I had a buddy spend the night at our house, as he was on his way to work at a camp in Michigan. I slept so soundly that I didn't hear lightning hit a tree about 50 yards from where I was sleeping. Same storm had strong enough straight line winds to pick up a cow from the pasture and drop it in a hay field. The cow didn't make it.
  10. Unbelievable Jazzy. So have you built your ark yet? Hope everyone in Oshkosh has enough supplies to last for a while! That is crazy!
  11. Wow. I hope no one was injured. I'm also reading that no one is supposed to be going out in Oshkosh until the floods subside. Unbelievable.
  12. Wow. They were saying there was rotation and a possible funnel maybe over Mayville. That's where I grew up. Pretty scary. I hope everyone's OK there.
  13. More stuff today, huh. Be careful out there! Sounds like it will be a long, wet night for you guys. I'm praying for you!
  14. Too bad Jeff. We just got to know you. Hope you like Kansas City or Denver or whoever takes a chance on you.
  15. Awesome. I'd much rather have Esco, but I wasn't sure how slow they would be in progressing him. Now I sorta want JJ to be on the DL. Is that wrong?
  16. Wouldn't you think that they would call up Chris Woodward before they'd call up Escobar? He'd probably be the guy to platoon with Counsell. Not saying I like it, but I think that would be more the likelihood. Why start Esco's arby clock early?
  17. Thanks for having my back! I used y'all when I lived in Wisconsin here and there, and the funniest part of it was when we were moving, everyone thought both my wife and I were moving "back home". Only she was. I grew up in Wisconsin. Just didn't want to talk like one as much as I could!
  18. Well, obviously. That's a tragedy, but when I was watching the interview, I was impressed by the composure and the lack of fear in these kids. Any loss of life is a tragedy and my heart breaks for those families and my prayers go out for them, but I'm very impressed and happy to see young men be men and take charge in a time of emergency.
  19. Looks like I may be working from home this afternoon, as my extra innings shows that it's televised. Yippee!!
  20. WOAHSOLVVED! so it bot waring the rigt jerseez?
  21. Just watching the Today show and they were interviewing a couple of scouts who were in the middle of this tornado. There were many injuries, but many of the scouts stepped into action with first aid and helping take care of the injured. One of them, a 13 year old, said that if a tornado was to hit anywhere, it was good that it hit a scout camp, because they knew what to do, they had first aid training. Amazing to see the bravery and heroism of these young men, and the adults who model that leadership for them. I know scouting has taken some hits over the past few years, but it is a great thing and this shows one of the reasons why. Scout camp story
  22. The stud hitting machine known as Seth McClung
  23. I'm happy to see Corey leading off. Hall playing 2nd is a better choice than Dillon. I wish I could be at these games. Oh well. There's always next year.
