  1. I know....but it still sucks. What's the point in paying for a package when you can't watch the games you want to watch?
  2. I looked on DirecTV's website and it gave me a channel for the game. So we'll see here in about a minute or so if it happens. What's the point of "see your team wherever you live", if the game isn't shown on the package that you pay an arm and a leg for? Ticks me off. And I can't watch it. BOOOO!!!!
  3. Who is televising this game? I'm not seeing it on Extra Innings.
  4. CUBS LOSE!!!! CUBS LOSE!!!!! HOLY COW!!! All is right with the world. The Brewers win and the Cubs lose. Nice.
  5. But, the Cubs haven't won in 100 years! There has to be a bit of luck, a curse, if you will, behind it too. The Brewers, for most of their 25 year history since making it to the WS, have not been good. They've built the team smartly, and are looking to strengthen the team to make it better. Because of that right there, you can't say they're the same old Brewers.
  6. If he wins every start the rest of the way, that would be nice. The reality is, it probably won't happen, but it's done so much for the team, the city and the psyche of both. This is a team willing to take chances to go for it, and that is an energizing thing!
  7. They should be nervous, if they aren't already now. The Brewers got CC, the Cy Young winner, and the Cubs counter with Rich Harden? He's had a history of injuries, and who knows how long his arm will hold up. You've got Dumpster, the converted reliever. When will the strain of all those innings take their toll on him? Plus, they're the Cubs. There is a bit of history on their side.
  8. Did he do it to himself? The answer is transparently yes as well. Granted, he's a hitter, but the question is, how good will he be without the juice? He's been a jerk to the media, and demanding of his own way, which, added to the steroid issue, the perjury charges hanging over his head, makes an owner really question whether the reward is worth the risk. I wouldn't do it.
  9. I threw my comment out there with not a whole lot of explanation. I think it's a dumb move, to begin with. There is a reason why starting pitchers aren't platooned. The reality is that now, we have a 6 man starting rotation, and a 6 man bullpen. That puts a whole lot of extra pressure on a bullpen that has been quick to implode. As the game has evolved, pitchers have now gotten to the point where they typically pitch every 5 days. So, does this mean that Bush and McClung will then be coming out of the bullpen here and there, to keep their arm fresh when they are not pitching regularly? There's more questions to this than answers. As a Brewer fan, I really hope this works. Or could this mean that Ned is assisting in the evolution of baseball?
  10. If this move goes well, Ned's a genius. If this move backfires, the season is pretty well lost and an uproar will ensue.
  11. I would just want one house that I can be comfortable in, make sure I have enough money to live on and save, save, save. Make sure my kids and my kids' kids and kids' kids' kids are taken care of. But that's just me who has not a whole lot of money, and would never come close to sniffing .0001% of that much money.
  12. I forgot about that. 6 months living in Texas has already wussified me, and made me want to put on a heavy sweater once the temperature gets below 65.
  13. My biggest question with a Sonic in Wisconsin is, what will happen during the winter? Would they stay open? If they do, who would want to work there? I know I wouldn't want to be delivering food to people's cars when it's -2 outside. Heck, I wouldn't want to be outside delivering food to people's cars if it was under 40! But that's just me.
  14. I TOTALLY forgot about Baja Fresh! That and Burgerville were my fave places to frequent when I lived in Portland/Vancouver. Great places!
  15. Sonic is good, Chick-Fil-A is excellent, and here in Texas, there is a chain called Whataburger. VERY good burgers. Also, a Texas chain, that I believe started here in San Antonio, is Taco Cabana. Very good food, and in fact, I'll be heading there in about an hour and a half for a bible study.
  16. I can't bring myself to give the team an A, because the bullpen has Mota and Gange in it. I'd give the team a B. I'd give Ned a B-, because of the no-logic decisions that have backfired. Offense gets a B-, pitching gets a B, defense gets a B. Biggest surprise has been a tie to me. Braun's seamless transition defensively to LF, and his hitting has kept up along with McClung actually being able to pitch! Biggest dissapointment would have to be Rickie offensively. He's not really producing as a leadoff hitter or at all.
  17. I'm watching this red-carpet crap, and even though it's cheesy and pointless, I feel like I'm 10 years old again and we're on our family vacation (we usually were the middle of July) and I'd make our family sit and watch the game, while I had out my baseball cards of each guy in the game. And then I'd share random trivial facts about each player during the game. Good stuff.
  18. David Manning Not a whole lot there....I love the fact that under career highlights and achievements there are none. And then theres Mr White...err....Whyte And who knew that Plesac is doing TV work for the Cubs?
  19. Braun's gonna win the MVP tomorrow night. He's gonna save his energy.
  20. Anybody gonna in game chat?
  21. Hilarious! I loved with the Prince swing, that he pretty much almost fell over, like Prince always looks like he's going to do. The Vaughn one seemed a little off to me, but the rest were awesome.
  22. OK, glad to know I wasn't going insane. I still won't see it.
