  1. I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix. Love the car, very versatile and can fit a LOT of stuff in it with the seats down. When I test drove it, I intentionally sat in back (6', 275) and I was quite comfortable. Not that I've ever sat in the back. I was just in Florida this weekend for my sister's wedding and rented a Nissan Sentra. VERY impressed with the trunk space and the room in it. Those are my recommendations. I rented a Mazda this past spring, I think it was the 3, and I really liked it as well.
  2. I so would love to see them in concert. There's something about strings and guitars mixed together that's amazing! At least to me.
  3. Congrats...just keep the average up and OPB high and you'll be good to go!
  4. Dizzy and Daffy Dean
  5. Good things: 1. Prince is a STUD hitter. Not just a power hitter, but hitting the ball to all fields. As he continues to mature, he's only going to get better. 2. Braun has a shot at a triple crown in the near future. Just saying it now. He's good. REALLY good. 3. Yo is a stud pitcher and will be the ace of this staff sooner than later. 4. Corey Hart is amazing. Great combo of power and speed. I think he's heading for a 30-30 year next year. 5. Villy will be in the starting rotation next year. He did great work this year. 6. Franchise record for homers was set. Bad things 1. Franchise record for homers was set. It seemed at times that they were trying to hit the 8 run homer a bit too much and not playing the fundamentals. 2. Defense was sad. Plenty of opportunities were cost because of errors or mental mistakes. 3. Bill Hall. I think in the beginning of the season it was the change of position that affected him at the plate. I don't think he ever got comfortable. Next year, different story. I'm really pulling for a bounce back year from him. 4. Sheeter. Love the guy, but I'm really wondering about him. I'm really hoping that in his contract year next year, he pitches tough and the freak injuries don't happen to him anymore. 5. Bullpen. Wow. Probably the worst part of the team. We all were talking about it coming out of Spring Training. You've got Coco, who was probably the most dependable. He NEEDS to be back. I'd like to see Linebrink and King back as well, giving some veteran leadership. Other than that, to me, blow it up. McClung, Spurling and Aquino pitched well in spots. I don't know if they're the guys or not. But that's the biggest point to work from this winter. This team proved a lot to me. They're fun, play well together, and you could see them jelling as a team. This is going to be a fun ride for the next few years.
  6. This, to me, is pretty much the season. If they lose tonight, there's no more hope. It's still going to take a miracle, but usually the last 3 games of the year in the past, we've all been praying for it to mercifully be over. Now, we're praying the Cubs lose and the Crew wins. What a change! I'm going to a HS FB game tonight, so I'll probably miss the first bit of the game, but will be rooting for Cappy to win. Let's get 82!
  7. No matter what happens in the next 3 games, I'm excited. Excited that we've had this opportunity to have meaningful games in September. Excited that the Packers, Brewers and Badgers are winning and playing well. Excited that on all 3 previous counts, we should have a few more years of this. Excited that the Brewers will be playing meaningful baseball in September, and October!
  8. I am trying to not believe that Yost didn't bring McClung in to hit Pujols, but I just can't see it. My theory on all of this is that Yost was trying to see how far the "vote of confidence" went. There's no other explanation other than Yost being a horrible manager. He needs to be gone after this year. I'm hoping that these next 4 games may salvage the season, but I have a hard time seeing it. Put me squarely on the nay side.
  9. The Chubbies are throwing Trachsel today, so there's a good chance they'll lose. This is a huge game and the team needs to bounce back from last night. GO YO!
  10. Same thought I had. Left or Right Field, yes. First, never seen that
  11. You know, I watching the game on ESPN last night, and Rick Sutcliffe is a bad color guy! Actually, if I had to choose between Rock or Rick, I'd choose Rock. I wanted to hear what the "big boys" were saying about the Brewers and they were clueless.
  12. Why not Greg?
  13. I love my wife. She understands that watching games is extremely important to me at this time. She doesn't understand it completely, but she gets that it is important to me and doesn't make a big deal out of it.
  14. As one who has loved the Brewers since childhood, and wanting to be like Yount and Molitor (and a card carrying member of the Rob Deer fan club in '87), this has been a great ride! The best part is, no matter what happens this year, and I am SOOOO pulling for the playoffs, there is going to be some great, exciting baseball played here for the next 5-7 years, with the talent the team has now coupled with the up and coming talent. Not to mention Melvin's deals. I can't wait to see what happens not only over the next 2 weeks, but the next few years!
  15. Isn't Richard Dawson already dead? Guess not....Wikipedia says he's still alive. Goes to show what I know.
  16. True, but what other rookie pitcher in the NL has had as good of a year as Yo?
  17. I realized last night, that Yo now has 9 wins. What about Braun and Yo being co-ROY? If we didn't have Braun up this year, wouldn't Yo be a shoo-in for ROY? This is what has me giddy as a Brewer fan, is that we have the best rookie slugger this year and the best rookie pitcher. And what a rookie pitcher he is! The confidence and the intestinal fortitude he's got is amazing. I think Yo is my new man crush.
  18. I was living in Portland, Oregon and it was my first year of teaching. About 2 weeks into the year, and on that Tuesday I was teaching ESL religion (it was at a private school) and band. The ESL class was my first class. I got up at 6, had my cereal, turned on the TV, and watched the 2nd plane fly into the WTC. I knew something was going on. So I had my radio on most of the time before school and I was trying to explain to my ESL students who were about 2 weeks into being in America, what was going on, when I didn't really know. It was a tough day and was one of the worst days in American history, but one of the best days for American heroism.
  19. I agree, although I'm not sure why you mess with a good thing and take Hardy out of the 8 hole True, but it's Ned. There is no logic. And just when you start to figure out his "logic", it changes again.
  20. Things are falling in line for us. Cards lose, we've got good mojo going, and Hart is hitting 5th! Just as long as J.J. keep his relaxed focus and keeps hitting in the 2 spot, things are looking good tonight! GO CREW!
  21. Hart's hitting 5th tonight per JSonline Brewer blog. J.J. is back to 2 and Hall is hitting 7th.
  22. That my directv is back online. The bolts had come out from the roof, so it's now fixed with longer bolts. Hopefully, starting tomorrow, the Brewers will be watchable, because it was perfect timing for the satellite to go out!
  23. Brettac, I meant sad as in it's sad that someone would choose to do the things he did to dogs. I just do not understand it. There is absolutely NO excuse for his behavior. I'm somewhat disappointed that he has been allowed to make a plea agreement and I sure hope that the judge ignores the plea and throws the book at him.
