  1. Sheboygan has to be pretty high on the worst cities list. Lots of sex offenders, weirdos and strange crimes. I feel dumber for having lived there.
  2. I'm in San Antonio, and am going to try to make it to at least one of the Brewer games in Houston. Not sure when yet.
  3. Gotta be cow. I gotta have me some BBQ Brisket, Beef tenderloins, Filet Mignon....along with the hamburgers and other various cow creations.
  4. Back in my softball playing days, I played all positions, and I'm a lefty. Granted the level of competition was EXTREMELY far from major league, but I think it's possible. Highly unlikely for someone to do it, but possible.
  5. Humber is about the only name I've heard of, and judging by everyone else's reaction, the Twins didn't get all they could in this trade. They may be good in 5 years, since they're blowing up the team and rebuilding. If I'm DM, I'm seeing what I can get for Joe Mauer.
  6. That's a big whoop-de-doo followed by a large yawn...repeatedly. Come on! This guy is on his 4th team in 3 years, let alone his 3rd team in the last 4 months! It's obvious the guy has personality issue. Good riddance to not a whole lot.
  7. Anyone remember Northridge?? Just the thought that there could be crime will keep some people away. I lived in a couple of smallish cities, and I knew people who were afraid to go to Milwaukee for Bucks games, shopping, etc. I can remembed, as a kid, when my dad and I would go down to Milwaukee, he took me to the area where he grew up, on 25th street. Once we got to Fond du Lac Ave, he told me to lock the door. I can remember not understanding, and that was in the late 80's/early 90's. Now, it makes sense. It's sad that such an amazing city with such history and such potential may not realize that potential if changes aren't made.
  8. Like what? Gum a man to death? Beat him with his cane? There's only so much an old, roided up Sly can do!
  9. Born in Kansas, moved to Janesville, attended my first Brewer game at age 5 (1982), lived in Mayville, college in Nebraska, then lived in Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, Washington; Sheboygan, and now San Antonio, Texas.
  10. I heard a great way to describe this whole "refund" thing. Say someone comes up to you, steals your wallet, and then is "nice" to you and gives you $20 back. Are you gonna thank the thief? NO WAY!! The only way all of this is going to change is if we ALL live within our means. That means not charging the $3000 big screen TV if you can't pay for it, if the civic leaders, local and state and federal can not waste the taxpayer money by throwing it out the window. Otherwise, we'll continually be in this mess as a nation.
  11. Man, that's the one major thing I miss about living in Portland. Clear days. I will never forget when my dad and I first saw Mt. Hood for the first time as we were driving on I-84 east. We were both silent for a while. That's a beautiful drive. Growing up here in Wisconsin and not seeing real mountains....wow. Of course, in a week, I'm moving to San Antonio, where there are neither mountains nor snow. But I can close my eyes and see Hood and St. Helens very clearly. Great stuff!
  12. I went to Wal-Mart here in Sheboygan this morning, and wow were there some strangely dressed people. I expect the usual Pack garb (as well there should be), but there were people with faces painted, and camoflauge hunting pants and jerseys. When will people learn?
  13. I put a lot of money into getting degrees in music and religious studies. I feel both very smart and very stupid. Me too! Even better, I got a degree to teach religion and music in private schools, and I've only done exactly what I went to college for for only 1 year. But I've become OK with that. I'm at least putting my education to some use, I think.
  14. It bugs me when people are saying, today, December 31st, 2007, Happy New Year. Last time I checked, we're not in the NEW year, we're still in the OLD year. Unless I'm in some alternate reality, or I slept for 2 days and it actually is January 1st, 2008.
  15. Don't forget to add So (Taguchi) in your comparisions. That dude could rake. Flat out awesome!
  16. Wow! So my guess is that if this deal goes down, the outfield would consist of Francouer in right, Hart in center, and Kelly Johnson in left? I would take that, if I were DM. Maybe throwing in Gamel as the prospect on our side? As for Elijah Dukes, I hope DM stays far far far far far away from him. I'm thinking if they can pull this deal with the Braves, you've got your closer in Soriano and you can let CoCo go. Keep up the info madtown!
  17. Capuano for either Paulino or Doumit? Sounds good to me!
  18. What about Jeffress for Winn? Jeffress would hopefully get a wake up call and the Giants would get a young SP
  19. It's a complex, computer-generated series of logarithms, matrixes and nexuses that take into account ability, lack of ability, hitting, pitching, fielding, coolness factor, status, and suckiness. After that formula is figured out, the list is created. Each name on the list is written down on a little sheet of paper, perfectly folded in half, placed in a hat, and is drawn at random. I don't know, but my way sounds cooler, I think.

  21. Sean Berry is a hitting coach.....enough said.
  22. Not to take this on a religious bent, but I was basically fired from a position at a church not because of anything I did, but because the church didn't have any money. The problem with it was that they went behind my back and talked to other people about filling in when I was gone, and I had no clue my position was in jeopardy. That happened 2 years ago. I was ticked, but through it all, I've learned it's pointless to waste my time hating or being upset over something I had no control over and that I need to move forward and use my time for better things than stewing over what happened.
