  1. In hindsight, I wouldn't have even traded for Greinke in the first place. We'd still have control of Lo Cain, Escobar and never had to go through Yuni B. Just like Prince, Greinke wouldn't have signed long term with the Brewers. Develop from within, develop from within, develop from within. That's got to be the mantra of the new GM. Invest in scouting, invest in minor leagues and develop a system wide strategy and plan as to how to take a player and get them through the system building up their talents. I look at Houston and see what they did and they now have one of the top farm systems in all of baseball. All because of a system wide strategy. Which I think the Brewers should replicate.
  2. He's awesome. And frustrating. But I want a player playing with energy and passion. Looking forward to seeing him September 6th and 21st.
  3. Maybe it's a player named Cash.
  4. That was huge for the Astros! Gives them momentum and confidence going against Greinke and Kershaw.
  5. Younggeezy1 for GM!!! That's spot on!!
  6. Something in the Budweiser, I mean, water.
  7. Trading prospects at positions of strength, SS and OF, for prospects at positions of need, corner IF, and C makes all the sense in the world. I don't think we're at a position of strength at any position yet. SS maybe with Arcia, but it isn't guaranteed. And while there are a bunch of OFs, do any look to be potential all-stars? Or are there a bunch of questions around them. I'm still on the stockpile as many as you can train.
  8. None. We need to be getting prospects, not giving them up!
  9. I don't agree with the lifestyle, but whatever he chooses to do in his personal life, that's fine. If he can hit pitches on a consistent basis, awesome. I'll cheer for him. I'm not going to cheer for him because his personal choice. Same thing with Michael Sam. Same thing with Tebow.....that's awesome that you love God....I do too.....but if you can't play football, you can't play football. I won't cheer for him just because he's a Christian.
  10. It's the rumble for the first pick in the draft!!! GO PHILLIES!!!! And by go......I mean win.....
  11. Wait. I thought this thread was the scoop?
  12. Well, sure, except the other two aren't castoffs. No, you're right. They're much better. Moran is starting to heat up. If the Astros were to give them up, it would be a high price. Very high.
  13. 2-10 on that list.....wow. Yuck!! Nothing to jump up and down about. But yes, there is a lot of potential in the minors right now. And that's exciting. If everything falls into place, and guys keep developing, there could be some great years ahead.
  14. Y'all are overlooking a former Astros 3b prospect already in Colorado Springs. Good ol' Matt Dominguez!! If you want Astros castoffs, look no further!
  15. I'm trying to find something nice to say..........bye Kyle!!!
  16. Depth, depth, depth. It was good for the Brewers to sell what they sold and get what they got. I'm looking forward to seeing where things are in 2-3 years.
  17. I don't know if they have an organizational plan or not. From looking at things now, the plan is to get as many young guys as possible. It takes 2 to make a trade, so there has to be interest, and it does take work to make a deal. Lohse was a stupid signing, no doubt about it. As for Fielder.....were the Brewers going to give him the insane contract that the Tigers did? And I think there was a bit of sticking it to daddy on Prince's part. There is potential and hope in the minor leagues for the Brewers. I hope they continue to build and stockpile young talented players and we'll see what things look like in 2-3 years.
  18. Lind won't be traded as he will not pass a teams medical examination. The team acquiring him would have to be OK with his back. Lohse will be an August waiver type deal as I don't think any team will claim him on waivers. Cotts is probably the most likely of the players you listed to be traded today or in August. Garza will probably be traded in the off season or during next years deadline. I wouldn't be surprised to see Garza flipped to the Dodgers for either Ethier or Crawford with a prospect coming back with Crawford. I know.....but I'm hopeful that someone may be that desperate to take them on.
  19. Cotts, Lind, Lohse, Garza......those are the guys I'd love to see traded. In reality, I think the time is up.
  20. That's the reason the Astros were able to make this trade. They have a ton of good players in their system. Out of that abundance, they can trade to go for it this year. Hopefully in 2-3 years, this is the Brewers.
  21. Hader's got great stuff, Phillips is a legit guy and Santana is above average. The Astros have GoGo for the rest of this year and next. Longer term, much better deal for the Brewers. Shorter term, the Astros could make a run of playoff and possible World Series appearances.
  22. Isn't Santana in AAA and Phillips in AA? That's where they were in Houston.
