  1. Per jsonline. Nobody has been called up/activated as of now.
  2. I kind of like Laynce, but I don't know if he fits anywhere in the bigs. The change of scenery thing was supposed to be what happened when we got him in the trade from Texas last year. His power numbers have grown over the past month or so (maybe he's really found a grove?). He does have some value since he does play a pretty solid CF and has an above average arm.
  3. I think CV could use at least one more start in Nashville. I didn't agree with bringing Rickie back so quick and I guess I'd like to see CV with some more starts in Nashville and see him do well before bringing him back up.
  4. Take out Braun's errors and he's been a stud fielder.
  5. Graffy isn't under contract. He was in arby last year (something we didn't plan on thus having Counsell and Graffy). I don't know how much of a leader Dillon can be since he's really never lasted on the MLB level too long -- I love the guy don't get me wrong. It's really too bad Estrada doesn't step up or at least I haven't heard him mentioned as a leader -- It seems like he's tried in the past, but I just wonder if anyone listens to him.
  6. 10...wow. That's really impressive and hopefully he'll get on a tear here. He's kind of fallen off the baseball radar for awhile.
  7. It'll be Barnwell if he gets called up in September. At this point, I'd rather see Barnwell pitch then hit.
  8. By September 1st though, they might be the team actually still in a playoff hunt. If we're still close, I say it doesn't matter. I would, however; reward the Nashville team and let them all go get their rings (albeit it on the AAA level). There really aren't too many guys who would make a huge difference with the exception of a few pitchers who we could call up and wouldn't hurt the team. If Dickey gets a token look, I think DiFelice has to also. They've both played really well...especially since Dickey was put back in the rotation.
  9. I thought Sheets has had a few blisters before...at least had to come out of games due to it. As a matter of fact, didn't that happen once this year? I don't think he missed a start so this shouldn't be too bad. Just not the best news, but I guess I'm not shocked.
  10. How bad did he flip his bat? I missed the game yesterday -- blackout restrictions. That's too bad if he flipped it and watched it. Gross could still end up with more HRs in a lot fewer ABs.
  11. Also, Nix was struggling for most of the year (doesn't have a great avg), but has gone on a somewhat power stretch here over the past two weeks or so. I don't know if he gets called up due to Gross and Gwynn most likely bothing being either still with the Brewers or called up in Gwynn's case. Nelson has played 3B lately, but I think he'd be more of a 1B, PH, or if really needed OF. If it's his last year with the Brewers, why not call him up for PH? It wouldn't shock me to see Sarfate up also due to the fact that he most likely will be looking for a different team in the off-season.
  12. Crabbe should've been up awhile ago...instead of bringing Weeks back up, but that's my opinion. I'm just thinking Barnwell can field (can't hit), but the fact that he's pitched this year would give Ned another arm to play with. At least it'd be entertaining instead of watching a starter get lit up or some actual pitcher. Barnwell's slider has some bite to it actually too.
  13. I don't know if Stetter is ready for the show and like Brian said with AFL coming up for him he could use the break. Spurling was promised a call up? What about Barnwell getting called up? I'm not a huge fan of his bat by any means, but he can field alright...and he can pitch in blow outs which would keep the games a little more fun in blowouts.
  14. JohnBriggs, I agree. I'd love to give him some regular playing time and due to the way he was handled with the Blue Jays (not saying it was right or wrong), but he was never given a shot to just be advanced in one league for a long time. I do think someday he will be an everyday OF for some team or given the opportunity. The way he takes pitches and gets on base if he would hit .260 and hit 20 hr (which I think he could do pretty easily as far as HRs) in a full year he'd be able to start on a few teams. I think he could actually hit 25 - 30 if given the chance.
  15. My benching goes to Gabe Gross...he got 3 hits in a game. I don't like that. He must still think he's in Nashville or something.
  16. I think you just said it. He didn't project to hit enough to be a CF. I don't think Hall's defense vs. Hardy's is totally different. I just can't picture Hardy in CF (offensive numbers aside) and Hall is a better athlete. Having Hall's 2006 bat in CF makes hiim one of the best in the NL offensively, if not the best. I don't know if it was ever Hardy's defense vs. Hall's, but maybe who could be moved and it was time to get Hall a spot to play everyday. I don't think it was the wrong decision, but I think Hardy's defense was overhyped a bit. His range doesn't seem to be as good when he was a rookie, so I'm hoping he's just tired or his leg is still sore.
  17. Or possibly that Hall could adjust to the OF better than Hardy? I'm thinking that played a big factor in that decision.
  18. I think he could be an everyday player or at least deserves a shot with the right team -- probably doesn't work out for the Brewers. I don't think most people are saying he's better than Hart, but he needs consistent ABs. He was doing really well in Nashville so calling him up to sit for a week would ruin what he had going. I believe he hit .270 something with more "regular" playing time last year, so I don't think you can judge the average this year. It seems that everyone has been hated on this board and I don't think he's been loved. He just gets on base which is a start for this team to possibly turn it around.
  19. Hardy is solid at SS, but with some Brewers prospects he was overhyped. He's above average, but lacks the range of a Reyes, etc. He plays very deep which makes up for his range, but fast guys are still able to get on base. If he can hit 20 hrs a year, he'll be fine at SS for the next few years no doubt. Part of me also thinks his ankle is bothering him, but that's just an opinion and I have no facts regarding that. He could be tired since this is the most he played in awhile?
  20. Abad is a total team guy. When he's DHing or on the bench he'll usually come down to the bullpen and talk to the guys. He'll also step in while guys are warming up to give them a "batter" to pitch to while they're getting ready. He's also usually one of the first position players out warming up before the game.
  21. I've seen reports that if he has a good off-season and such that he could be moved up for next year. To be honest, I haven't seen him play or anything so that's all I really can say.
  22. Sheets isn't a free agent until the end of '08. I'd like to trade him this off-season so we get something back for him and don't stick money into an injury prone pitcher (I know it's not arm issues, but he's just not dependable in my opinion), but now that our starting pitching is nowhere I think we might be stuck with forking over the dough for Sheets.
  23. What about Sheets now? Does this change the landscape a bit? Based on the 5 year deal Z is going to average $18.3 million. I would think Sheets would get less than that per year based on his injuries? I may be wrong, but I think this might help the Brewers. Depends on what others think about the injuries he's had I guess.
