  1. I really think we should look at trading Prince. This pretty much means no playoffs.
  2. These Rockies crush YoGa to a 1.041 OPS. I sure hope we can we can avoid that small sample staying intact.
  3. I'm sure a new thread will pop up soon... but Congrats Rickie! (and Prince and Ryan as well...) Go Crew!
  4. I think the problem is that you keep going back to the well saying that he is giving up a lot of runs. You are correct, there is no argument against that. I think we all agree with the fact that he has given up runs. Those of us opposing your view point are saying that even though he has given up runs, we aren't panicking about what to expect over the rest of the year because his past success and his peripheral numbers lead us to believe that he will eventually turn his solid pitching into solid results.
  5. The Brewers are 8-3 in his starts. Aren't those really the only results that matter when we are worried about making the playoffs? If you are going to cherry pick his ERA, I'm going to look at everything except ERA and look at him as a pretty darn good pitcher this year.
  6. Looks like FanGraphs wants to help us out... http://www.fangraphs.com/...inke-cant-catch-a-break/
  7. Pujols will still technically be the "starter." The manager will pick his replacement starter. I don't believe it is based on who places 2nd.
  8. Yovani Narveson? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. I don't know what this says about Dylan, I know he is going through dealing with Diabetes, but here are his freshman year stats at San Diego University. 9 GS, 34.1 IP, 1-3, 7.60 ERA, 29 K, 28 BB
  10. I would definitely prefer to get rid of the DH, but as long as both leagues have the same rules I am fine with going either way.
  11. I think I just became a Ryan Franklin fan.
  12. Nah. Roenicke said Nieves would catch for Narveson as long as he was pitching so well. He didn't want to tinker with that. Doesn't mean anything as far as Kottaras goes. Or that we are facing a LHP.
  13. Right, but that is a road start @ ATL. 5 days later is the 9th. I'm buying tonight!
  14. So if my counting is correct, does that line him up for his first home start to be Monday May 9th? Someone check for me before i get tickets.
  15. Thanks Topper. I am okay with that output for my 5th starter (I consider Narveson our 4th at this point).
  16. More KUGs http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Nieves is starting today because Lucroy needs a day off and we are facing a lefty. I think Kottaras would have gotten the start against a RHP.
  18. We aren't comparing the two this year. (At least I'm not) I'm comparing 2010 Escobar to 2011 Betancourt and I believe these will pretty much be the same.
  19. Someone should calculate how well he did if you remove his 2 worst starts and 4 best starts. I think that would give you a typical Wolf outing.
  20. Escobar didn't do well last year. He batted .235 with a .288 OBP. Pretty much what we will probably get with Yuni this year. Betancourt is a career 83 OPS+ plus player where as Escobar had a 67 OPS+. If you take defense into account, I'd say you can pretty much call 2010 Escobar and 2011 Betancourt a wash.
  21. The way these pitchers are going right now, Greinke should be the long reliever!
  22. John Jaso lead off for the Rays for many games last year and didn't seem to have much of a problem with that. After the first inning, batting order really means nothing. Also, every lineup has weak spots and we as fans need to accept that. As long as Gomez can contribute in the field, he is as asset to the team. We need our stars to carry us offensively and anything we get from our "weak spots" is bonus.
  23. Hey guys, I am looking into taking a trip to Ireland with a friend towards the end of August and was looking for any and all suggestions you may have on what to see and where to stay. I have done some reading online but I figured if anyone here had any other suggestions, the more knowledge the better. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.
