Why aren't Brewer pitchers protecting Brewer hitters?

Because its stupid to give someone a free base. I've never understood why any team would ever "retaliate" by giving up a free base. I hope Weeks and Fielder get beaned in every plate appearance. -

I think some of the contracts that people have put on this thread are low balling rickie a bit. I would think he won't take anything less than 4 years/30 Million. Team option in 2012. 2010 - $3.5 2011 - $6.5 2012 - $9.0 2013 - $11 2014 - $12.5 (team option)

FWIW, Gomez has reached 4 times this year on an error. 2 of them were sac bunts that he beat out that were ruled errors.

He forces some of those errors with his speed, so I think his OBP is legit. This is my point. OBP is lowered when a play is called an error. I'm not saying its where it needs to be yet, but we should give him a break on having a lower than ideal OBP.

How many times has Gomez reached on an error this season? I know there has been 2 this series. That is something to take into account when looking at his OBP.

I'm wondering if Salome shouldn't go down to AA and prove his commitment to the team. That's pretty harsh. He's having a child.

That only shows what the Cubs are obligated to pay. There is a $16 Million club option with a $2 Million buy out. The cubs will have to pay at least the $2 Million to Am-Ram.

Cubs have gone from Above average rotation and bad bullpen to Average Rotation and Below Average Bullpen. Nice work.

I'm 24 years old, and this may be the most confident I've ever been in our minor league pitching talent. This could be an exciting few years for the Brewers pitching staff.

Looks like the Brewers are starting to worry about Davis already. http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2010/4/21/1434604/brewers-eyeing-jarrod-washburn I really hope this isn't true. Davis has been plagued with really bad luck and I don't want to jump ship on him just yet.
