  1. He's going to do wonders for their bullpen.
  2. I'd just be curious to see this. NL Juan Pierre Luis Castillo Jason Kendall David Eckstein AL Chone Figgins Chris Getz Asdrubal Cabrera Elvis Andrus These are the bottom 4 players in each league in HRs (with at least 250 PAs). It'd just be interesting to see how many these guys could put out when they are trying to hit it out of the park.
  3. Thanks hawing! And Prince, thank you for making my life.
  4. Is there a way to put a thread title in blue text?
  5. They tried Escobar at 2B for a few games already in Nashville and it didn't go that well. Escobar will only play SS for the Brewers.
  6. Congrats to Nelson Cruz on being named to the All Star team. He will be replacing Torii Hunter.
  7. Is it too soon do to a redraft of the 2006 draft? I know I enjoyed revisiting 2005.
  8. Touche guys... i suck. I need to get my facts straight.
  9. Without looking up the actual rules... I would say no run. There is a force out on the runner on first. Any time a force out is recorded, it applies before any runs are scored.
  10. When healthy, Sheets is an Ace... not sure why that would be in blue...
  11. Jake Peavy should not be a Brewer. Career Stats: Home: 2.79 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, .63 HR/9 Road: 3.82 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 1.24 HR/9 2008: Home: 1.74 ERA, .97 WHIP, .37 HR/9 Road: 4.28 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 1.55 HR/9 2009: Home: 2.98 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, .85 HR/9 Road: 4.32 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 1.08 HR/9\ He is not worth the money or the prospects we would give up to get him.
  12. Gamel is starting tonight per the JS. AWESOME! And this will be the first live (on TV) game I'll be able to watch in quite a while. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Stick up for Ryan, and let Pinella know he gets no more freebies. If Braun hits a HR everytime after he gets hit... I think people will stop throwing at him. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I really don't care about who takes or doesn't take steroids. I'm numb to it at this point.
  15. However, I still think that 7 innings is a reasonable goal for a starting pitcher and that Brewer pitchers have not done it often enough. I think 7 innings is a good goal, but shouldn't be the expectation (especially in the NL). As you can see above, the NL leading team is averaging only 6.19 Innings per start. I think we should expect 5, be happy with 6, and rejoice with 7+.
  16. The bullpen wouldn't get so much criticism if the starters would go a bit deeper in games. I decided to look at number of innings pitched by our starters compared to the rest of the NL. Team Games IP IP/G Pittsburgh 24 148.667 6.19 Cincy 24 148.333 6.18 Arizona 25 151.333 6.05 St. Louis 25 149.333 5.97 Chicago 24 142.333 5.93 Milwaukee 25 147.000 5.88 San Fran 23 135.000 5.87 Atlanta 24 140.667 5.86 Florida 25 143.000 5.72 San Diego 25 139.333 5.57 Colorado 23 126.333 5.49 Los Angeles 26 142.333 5.47 Washington 23 124.667 5.42 New York 23 124.333 5.41 Philly 22 118.000 5.36 Houston 25 134.000 5.36 I have it sorted from most innings per game by SPs to least innings per game by SPs. Currently the Brewers are in the upper half of the NL. This next table list is ranking the number of innings pitched by the bullpen per game, going from fewest to most. Again, it appears that the strain on the Bullpen hasn't been that great compared to the rest of the NL. 17. Glad someone was able to ask him about PH on off-days anyway...I liked his answer, too. This was actually me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I also liked his answer. I doubt he ever gets used as PH though...
  18. 3 vs AZI (2-1) 2 @ PIT (2-0) 2 @ CIN (1-1) 3 vs CHI (2-1) 3 vs FLA (2-1) 3 @ STL (1-2) 3 @ HOU (2-1) 3 @ MIN (2-1) 3 vs STL (1-2) 3 vs CIN (2-1) 17-11
  19. OMG... this is just awkward now. BA needs to take a hint at this point and play along. Its embarrassing for him and Bill.
  20. I'm sick of looking at Joe Blanton... can someone update the lead post?
  21. Moyer is pitching today according to ESPN and CBS, not Blanton. He will be pitching tomorrow.
  22. We need to stop freaking out. I went through last year's schedule, we had 4 different stretches of 3-7 baseball. May 1 - May 11 (3-7) May 14 - May 24 (3-7) July 25 - Aug 3 (3-7) Sept 7 - Sept 17 (2-8) I'm pretty sure we made the playoffs last year right? Stretches like this happen during a baseball season, it just happens to be now for the brewers. (We are missing our closer) Baseball is a long season. We went 13-16 in the month of May last year, I'd be surprised if we finish worse than that in April this year.
  23. I have a few disagreements. Mostly just my own observations, not much analysis. I think Hall is a natural hitter. He looks comfortable in the box, like he was born to be there, just doesn't always perform well. Cameron is one of the most natural players i've ever seen. He is a natural hitter in all definitions of the word.
  24. We faced two pretty darn good pitchers in the first two games. Linsecum is the current Cy Young winner and Johnson looked awesome (except for a high fastball that Yo got a hold of). I'm not worried about them yet.
  25. I think this will be a tough game to win. The pitching match up clearly favors the Giants. Hopefully Macha will have a plan for Cain as well. I have tons of confidence in our offense, even though JJ and Corey haven't looked very comfortable yet, but I could definitely see Manny giving up 4-5 runs though 5 innings.
