  1. There was a discussion on 1250 this morning about what to do with Weeks. I know I know, he has a been a productive leadoff hitter with his ability to get on base. He's made what seem to be improvements in his defensive game. I'm really pulling for him to be a Brewer for many years to come. However, he is not the player we were expecting when we drafted him. We saw this guy being a 4/5 tool (depending on your view of his defense) player. Right now, he's got about 1.5 tools at his disposal, speed and the occasional longball. I remember a few years ago saying that Weeks would be best served batting in the 3 spot, but he has been unable to build his average up high enough to warrant him in that position. I'm also very curious to know what type of contract he will receive from the Brewers or otherwise. We all know he has the physical ability to an All-Star and he was drafted extremely high, but how much is someone willing to pay for that? I have heard talks of Weeks to CF, moving JJ to 2B, and Escobar filling in at SS. But do we really believe this will happen? Again, I want Weeks to succeed and be a productive member of this team, but with the surplus of OF talent we have in the minors and the coming of Escobar, it seems that we may not have room for him on this team in the next few years. Thoughts?
  2. Last year we didn't have the depth that we have this year. There were multiple options to go to. Gagne will be fine and a very productive member of the bullpen this year, but when you have guys like Torres and Riske available, you give Gagne the day off. This was really the first game that Ned has blown for us this year, so I'm happy its only been one so far.
  3. We are 9-6 without our #2 starter. I think we will be fine.

  5. Sure he can find ways to make up for the protein, but that requires a lot of effort and planning that isn't being put into his job. Professional Nutritionists
  6. It doesn't get much better than watching Griffey in a HR Derby. Its like Jordan in a Dunk Contest.
  7. Carlos Beltranm, Aaron Rowand, Andruw Jones, Gary Sheffield, Troy Glaus, Nick Markakis, Corey Hart, BJ Upton, Russel Martin, Delmon Young, Robinson Cano, Ian Kinsler, Troy Tulowitzki, Hunter Pence, Carl Crawford, Matt Kemp, Garrett Atkins Prince has as many HR as the above list combined. There is nothing to be worried about.
  8. You are going to lose some games you should win and you are going to win some games you should lose. The Reds show promise, but lets give it some time before we label them as challengers.
  9. Why post this when a legitimate topic is being discussed that has nothing to do with the game tomorrow? I actually enjoyed that post. He's saying that it is way too early to be making any complaints about the order. We need to let this play out for a few weeks before we get all up in arms about a few games of low production. You can't expect to score 6 runs a game.
  10. Its not broke this year. I'll say it here like I did in the Kendall thread. We are tied for 3rd most runs in the NL without our Starting CF. I don't see why we should start messing with the lineup.
  11. No real judgements can really be made about any team until about 30 games into the season. We need a few weeks to digest what is going on around the league and for teams to get into the swing of things. On that note... i can't wait to get Cameron in CF.

  13. Baseball in HD is a beautiful thing
  14. which is why i would add on that extra year for an extra 10 mil. Hopefully we could get an option year after that as well.
  15. I can't wait for this game to start! Let's go Crew!
  16. agreed... I can only hope this is true. Think we could get 7/42? I would love that deal as well.
  17. kuhlebohn: 3:44 pm Do you prefer night games, or day games? milguest: 3:44 pm I like night games. It is easier to stay in your routine. Why did no one follow with... Is that because you like to wear your sunglasses? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I love me some Corey Hart (see sig).
  18. Twilight Zone Prediction: Prince gets scratched last minute and is replaced by a bobblehead form of himself. The bobblehead procedes to go 3 for 4 with 2 HRs.
  19. Really? I mean I'm not going to start a debate or anything, but I'd rather not face the best pitcher in baseball over the past 4-5 seasons over a guy who had one major league start coming in to last night. Other than Prince (who does relatively well against LHP), we have a RH power lineup. We just seem to have LHP down. Sure, we will strike out probably 8-12 times, but there will be a could HRs as well. I could have easily seen Cueto throwing another 7 IP, 1 ER (which he almost did). Santana i think will be more like 7.2 IP 104 Pitches, 3 ERs. Maybe I'm crazy, but I can't believe I'm the only person that thinks this way. Also, there is a lot more footage of Santana. Rookie power pitchers scare the crap out of me, especially when they can locate like Cueto.
  20. My league is a 10-team Daily Head to Head, 6x6 with OPS and K/9 being the additional categories. In my draft, starting pitchers were extremely overvalued so I was forced to stock up on Outfield. We only have starting spots for 3 OF and a Util. Right now I have Grady Sizemore, Carlos Lee, Nick Markakis, Hideki Matsui, Matt Kemp, and Michael Bourn. I posted a message saying I was looking for an upgrade at SP and got this offer. What do you think? Thank you in advance. I'll list my whole roster below. I get: Matt Cain and Erik Bedard I give: Grady Sizemore and AJ Burnett My Team: Brian McCann - C Lance Berkman - 1B Robinson Cano - 2B Alex Gordon - 3B Hanley Ramirez - SS Grady Sizemore - OF Carlos Lee - OF Nick Markakis - OF Hideki Matsui - UTIL Matt Kemp - OF Michael Bourn - OF Kevin Kouzmanoff - 3B Fausto Carmona - SP AJ Burnett - SP Oliver Perez - SP Javier Vazquez - SP Shaun Marcum - SP Takashi Saito - RP Trevor Hoffman - RP Joba Chamberlain - RP Jeremy Accardo - RP BJ Ryan - DL
  21. Derrick Turnbow - 2006 NL All-Star 56.3 Innings, 51 Runs, 43 Earned Runs, 39 Walks, 1.7 WHIP, 6.87 ERA That kind of season from a team's all-star representative is enough to scar any fan, no matter how much they know about small sample sizes and the year to year variability of relievers. All Star in 2006. Led the team in scoreless appearances in 2007. Its easy to remember all the times he blows up, its a lot harder to remember the times he goes out and does his job.
  22. Lets go 3 for 3 in series wins today! Don't want to have a must win vs. Harang!
  23. I'd still drop Kapler--not sure why people think at 32 he is suddenly good because he had a hot week. Mench hit like .450 his first week last year too. Kapler has Grit.
