  1. Seeing as there's a few people sharing their recent dreams about the Brewers, I figured I'd start a separate thread. My recent dream involves the Brewers getting things together, and making the postseason yet this year.
  2. Sorry. Got the wrong idea. Maybe something we could do to "help" break this funk? I heard "pink IGT". There's been days without an IGT, I believe. Any other ideas?
  3. Well in that case, I feel a lot better about it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gifYou wouldn't want that production for this team? You'd rather have, say, Bill Hall coming off the bench to pinch hit? Or Jody Gerut spot-starting for Corey Hart in RF or Mike Cameron in CF? Wasn't Willingham a top prospect coming up with Florida? He had 21 HR's and 89 RBI's in 2007. Injuries held him back last year, and I'd imagine he'd be producing a lot more in a better lineup.
  4. Wait, so none of them should NOT be on a major league roster?
  5. He had 14 HR's and an AVG. just below .300 coming into tonight. I'd take that...
  6. I'm just trying not to make a big deal out of this. I guess I was venting a little in the previous post, but nothing like "I hate this team" or "sell sell sell!". I imagine those guys are going out and playing as well as they can, but they've just been making too many mistakes. It doesn't help that we're a small market club and we don't have an unlimited amount of money to just go "buy" players from other teams. But then again, if baseball worked that way, the Yankees would be winning every single World Series. Too bad they haven't accomplished that for almost a decade. The Rays, a year removed from being one of the worst in the league, turned into one of the best. Baseball is an amazing sport, and you just can't get worked up over this stuff.
  7. I'm tired of the negativity. This is starting to look a lot like a vent thread, and last I checked we don't have those anymore. Losing one game to the Nationals doesn't break your season. The Nationals have won 30 games this season...they're not an automatic victory. They're coming in on a 2-game winning streak (for them, that's the equivalent of about a 6-game win streak to a .500 team). There are 3 more games to play. The offense looks good tonight. The pitching probably won't be great tomorrow. The Cardinals have the Dodgers to worry about and the Cubs and Astros are beating themselves up now. Why again, with the month-long stretch of games we have, can't we make a run? If we make a move or two within the next 3 days, we can make a run. I'm not saying an automatic World Series run, but you never know what could happen in the game of baseball, much less any sport. I agree this isn't a great team due in part to a really crappy pitching staff. The front office needs to make some pretty long strides to make the pitching better in the off-season. Can we get a free agent list somewhere?
  8. I just had a miniature heart-attack. EDIT: Ugh. Looks like we've got some work to do, yet... EDIT #2: Wow. Just wow....
  9. ughhh...if Lopez 1. had a healthy leg and 2. didn't slow down, he would've scored... EDIT: I blame Fischer. He saw Lopez was slowing down, so why'd he send him? Bad call...
  10. Keep making those "bold" predictions! Maybe predict something REALLY crazy next!
  11. The issue is that his insurance doesn't cover it, not that the insurance company doesn't think its important. But for the price of that type of coverage, he probably could have bought 5 new car stereos. Car insurance bugs me. What a scam. Exactly. I would've had to pay a $500 deductible, which could've bought me either 5-7 stereos (depending on what exactly its value was) or 1 stereo and probably would've paid for the damage done to the car. Seeing as I don't really need 5-7 car stereos, I would've probably just went and bought myself a new stereo and paid to fix my car. Too bad I don't have $500...
  12. I have no idea, Invader. My brother-in-law told me that my unit wasn't worth much more than about 70-75 bucks. My guess is that thieves try selling them for twice that amount. All I know is I'm really upset right now, considering I've got no help from my insurance company or the police department. Nobody really seems to care... I've got a brother-in-law and an uncle who could fix it, but my brother-in-law is currently unemployed, along with my sister, and my uncle (who runs his own shop) is always busy. I'm just at a huge loss, right now.
  13. I recently was the victim of a robbery in which my car stereo was stolen and the center of my dash was badly damaged. I'm wondering if anyone, out of the kindness from their heart, would be willing to help me out. I'm not looking for an expensive unit, just preferably one with a CD player and AM/FM radio. I know they go for $70 at a Best Buy, but right now, even that much money is overwhelming. Craigslist has some for $20, I think, but again...right now I'm in a huge struggle and this whole situation is killing me. I don't know where I'm going to come up with the money to fix my car and replace the stereo, so I thought I would ask my fellow BF.netters for some assistance. Mods, feel free to move this to the Off Topic forum or delete this if it goes against any of the forum rules. Just looking for any kind of help at this point in time. Thanks.
  14. I would rather keep our proven players that are just having down years than sell them for cheap (we're not going to get anything great the way Hart, Hardy, Hall, etc. are playing). What sense does it make to trade all of our proven players for prospects that've never been on a major league field? Nobody knows how they'll pan out. There are too many busts in this game. If we can't be buyers at the deadline, then we should definitely be buyers when Free Agency begins. That way we have unwanted salary coming off the books and we have more money to spend. The team needs to pick up pitching somehow before the 2010 season begins. The offense is fine, but could probably use another bat or two for the bench.
