    Haurdricourt said this morning on 540 regarding Sveum, that it was going to be Sveum's choice if he wants to return. So apparently Macha has asked him to come back.

    First, if the Brewers trade Gallardo, what sense does that make? If Melvin swung that deal, I think I'd become a Cubs fan. Second, why include Parra in the deal? We've gotten to see Manny Parra for 1 1/2 seasons and he has shown glimpse's of what type of pitcher he could be. We've kept Dave Bush around longer and he hasn't gotten any better. I think the Brewers should give Parra the same chance. Third, I love the 3 team trade idea with Tampa Bay. Obviously, being a Brewer fan I'm bias, but I think that would be a great deal for The Crew.

    I think it's a must in the off-season that Doug Melvin explores any type of option that might get rid of Weeks for some pitching help, possibly as a package deal with another player(even toss in Bill Hall for free). You can make all the arguments you want about how he played better in the 2nd half this year, but just imagine how many more runs this team would have scored if he would have at least hit .250 and had a OBP over .375? I used to always be high on Weeks, but next year the Brewers would be a doing a disservice to the fans and the organization if he gets tossed out there everyday as the starting 2B and leadoff hitter. If he had a different role on the team, I can see the Brewers keeping him, but he's just not getting it done in his current role.

    I don't know about a must win, but going down 0-2 I would assume damages our chances greatly to win the series. That's my professional opinion.

    I'm a Phy. Ed. teacher and don't get out of school til 3:52. I guess the student learning process is going to suffer on Wednesday!

    I'd be very surprised if Sheets is on the NLDS roster. After the NLDS, if the Brewers make it out of that round, re-evaluate him, but I don't think he'd make the NLCS series roster either.

    I'm nervously optimistic. Regardless of what happens, it's been a heck of a ride and if we don't make the playoffs, at least the Brewers took it down to the 162 game. I'll be disappointed for the rest of the day, but it was better than being done by the end of July.

    It's not so far fetched that Yo could pitch on Monday. The guy hasn't pitched in 4 months. 3 days rest for him at this point of the season isn't like another pitcher going on 3 days rest at the end of the season. Yo probably still has a pretty fresh arm and could be very effective.

    Zach Duke is 5-14 with an ERA around 5. Usually a disaster for the Brewers. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!! Go Brewers!!!

    Although the timing is odd, I agree with it. They couldn't get any worse. Maybe this will shake them up and get something going. Attanasio is a smart guy. Melvin is a smart guy. I'm sure that they thought this through and have good reasons and a plan for the immediate and long term future. I know Yost can't play for these guys, but he does make out the line-up, which I think he royally screwed up on all year long and that is a big part of his downfall. His use of players and loyalty to them cost him. If I were a betting man, I'd say something is going on in the clubhouse as far as him losing the players. I'm sure there was some quiet talking to the future of the team and what the felt about what was going on.

    I'd say that saying 3 games of 162 is an understatement at this point in the season. With respect to the natural disaster that is going on in TX, there are major playoff implications in this decision(which also means lots of $$$ in MLB's eyes), which I hope would mean that MLB is going to make a decision that is the fairest for baseball. The Cubs playing the Astros at Miller Park would be a travesty. Move the games to somewhere that at least would not give the supposed away team a "homefield" advantage.

    If the Astros don't raise absolute hell about this there is something wrong. This would in essence be a Cubs home series. The Cubs get 25,000 people at Miller Park against the Brewers, they will definitly sell out the place no doubt about it. I imagine the delay in announcing where the series may be played is that MLB is trying to figure out somewhere the series can be played besides Milwaukee because of the home-field advantage the Cubs would get.

    Wow, just looked at the weather radar for Philly. Not looking good for tonight unless they plan on waiting a long time.

    Well, at least if we can't get offense out of Weeks, we get great quality defen--oh wait, NEVERMIND-HE SUCKS at that too!!

    I don't think he's there anymore, probably had to leave for Lowe's Extra Innings. Never seen him sitting there before, though.
