  1. Wait, after watching the last three games, I could have sworn this series was at Wrigley.
  2. Sigh ... Jim Edmonds. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  3. He rounded second on the hit and run, and had to retag second before he got back.
  4. Anyone watching this? How'd Rickie look on the turn. Did he side arm it?
  5. It's not rebellion it's lack of self discipline. You honestly don't think they talk to these guys over and over about these things? If so, yeah, I can see you blaming the manager. The fact that he doesn't publicly call out players, makes him a good manager in my opinion. I don't see what good that stuff does.
  6. OK, everybody. Take a step back. This team is 60-48 and those 60 wins came with Yost at the helm. This team is letting Yost down, not the other way around. Players hitting .300 who hit under .200 with RISP is said player peeing down his leg, not the manager messing up. Last season Yost haters were constantly complaining about the variety of lineups he runs out here, is this even version No. 5 or 6 this year? He's shuffling the deck and seeing what happens, hitting with RISP literally can't be worse than the last three games.
  7. Allow me to wax delusional here: How awesome would it be if Yo could return and be in the end at the game with it all on the line against the Cubs to end the season against ... Reed Johnson, who's idiotic head first slid injured Yo's knee in the first place. As a Miller Park crowd filled with nothing but Brewer fans gets to its feet, Yo strikes out Johnson sending the Brewers to their first division title in 26 years and eliminates the Cubs from the playoffs. Like everyone else, I would hate to see Yo come back if it risks long-term health, but how awesome would it be ...
  8. This has been playing on a continuous loop in my head the past few days. Please Brewers, make it stop!
  9. 1. Do I think the Brewers are more talented? Yes. Do I think Yost is holding them back? Well, name one other major-league manager who would have called for a hit-and-run TWICE with the catcher on first and the pitcher batting. That's just one example. Check the Yost thread for others. 2. Oh, and the defense is generally terrible. Whoever is responsible for that is probably worse at his job than Yost is. 3. I think the Brewers are the most talented team in the NL outside of probably the Mets. That won't get them anywhere unless the manager and about half the team remove their heads from their posteriors. Managers ave such a small impact on games. this entire pathetic series is on the players and their failure to step up and compete. That hit and run doesn't happen if these guys handn't filled their cleats with poop after how many consecutive games chocking with men in scoring position. This team isn't succeeding in spite of Yost. It's just such a ridiculous concept.
  10. Wow, this team is just wetting the bed so bad right now.
  11. This series pretty much sums up my existence as a Brewers fan: So disappointing.
  12. Because you've been watching this team hit the last few weeks.
  13. A tie game right now, it should be a tie game! You've got to be kidding me.
  14. If your going to complain at least look up how the voting is actually conducted. It's managers and coaches, not the media.
  15. I hear you. I hated pulling up ESPN the past couple of days the Cubs beating the Brewers being the lead story. I think the first ESPN Brewer game I ever saw was a Sunday night where Greg Vaughn nonchalanted a fly ball, dropped it and cost the team the game. I may be misremembering that, but know national TV Brewer wins seem few and far between.
  16. Agreed. When's the last time the Brewers won a nationally televised game? It seems like we always lose those, which is why I'm sort of dreading tonight. I know it seems that way, but the Monday game to start the Cards sweep was on ESPN. Let's hope the team can recreate that magic and not get their butts handed to them like last night.
  17. I think after last night, it's safe to say that won't happen this year. He has shown he can be very good out there, so maybe in a couple years if he continue to improve.
  18. If they lose tonight, I think the jumping will look a little more like this. http://ftloveblog70.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/lemmings.jpg
  19. The sad thing is the team NEEDS Rickie to play well to win the NL Central. He has it in him. I just hope it comes out before it's too late.
  20. We can still split this series. We can still split this series. We can still split this series. Hmmm, something must be wrong with my computer, I kept getting shocked when I was writing that.
  21. Agreed on your main point, but I think Cubs fans are more like fleas or bed bugs. You know, bloodsuckers but not exactly ...
  22. I have a feeling if Branyan hadn't gone yard last night, Hall would be in tonight. Either way, I hope for a better approach tonight, which I'm confident will result in a much better result.
  23. Something needs to reignite this thread. How about Weeks and Hall sitting tonight? http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2008/07/29/durham-branyan-in-hall-weeks-out.aspx 2B Ray Durham SS J.J. Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Russell Branyan CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall RHP Ben Sheets Whether it was Yost's intention or not, I hope this sends the message to everyone that it's time to step up your game and quit the mental mistakes that seems to have defined this team's losses for the last year plus.
  24. If you're talking about Rickie Weeks, that was a heck of a cross body block he was working around. Maybe he should have held the ball. If you're talking about the umpiring, personally I think the call on Cedeno was correct and I didn't get a close enough look at the Hart play. And even if they were both wrong - we all have to deal with bad calls on occasion. Besides, if you want to talk about a silver platter, refer back to May 1st. Weeks should have made the play, or aspike the throw into the ground that wouldn't have let two score. Hall didn't cover in enough time at third otherwise Cedeno surely would have been out. If Hart doesn't try to stretch to three, he scores on Hall's hit. Hall doesn't get picked off that inning ... who knows. The point is the Brewers made a ton of mental mistakes still had a chnace and then the closer comes in and walks two in the ninth to get to Lee. The Brewers did give the game away on a ---- sliver platter. Who cares about the umps, the Brewers could have one despite the bad calls but failed to perform. I hope they come out with a purpose (and stop swinging at junk out of the zone for that matter) tonight.
