  1. Francisco Cordero replaces Derrick Turnbow pitchingFrank Catalanotto strikes out swinging Ian Kinsler grounds out, P to 1B Brad Wilkerson singles to LF (line drive) Wilkerson to 2B on defensive indifference Ramon Vazquez walks Gerald Laird singles to LF (line drive to LF-CF), Wilkerson scores, Vazquez to 3B Kenny Lofton singles to 1B (ground ball to 2B-1B), Vazquez scores, Laird to 2B Marlon Byrd singles to CF (ground ball thru SS-2B), Laird scores, Lofton to 2B Michael Young singles to RF (line drive), Lofton scores June 9, 2007
  2. These Blue Angel flyovers are ridiculous. And of course, most of them seem to be happening when the Brewers are up to bat. I don't think I remember a flyover happening with a Cub at the plate (not that it's a big deal, just a bit frustrating that Brewer hitters are visibly upset about it).
  3. It doesn't help that Braun simply refuses to make adjustments at the plate. He's still flailing at the same outside stuff in every at-bat and opposing pitchers know they don't have to throw him strikes to get him out. Weird scoring play there...thankfully the Cubs are horrible.
  4. The Cardinals signing Randy Winn and Jeff Suppan in the past week? I don't get it, but I approve.
  5. Almost looked to me like Rickie had it, but the slide into second knocked the ball out of his glove. Either way, he should've been able to hang on. Another nice throw by Lucroy...maybe now Macha will give him more than one start a week.
  6. Traded for Al Albuquerque. He's also terrible. .213/.268/.387 so far this year.
  7. Only restriction is that he can't be the home plate ump for Wolf's starts.
  8. Man, this has to be like the Brewers getting beat by Wes Helms. Definitely sweet to win a game they had no business winning with the way they swung the bats for the first 7 or so innings.
  9. Tough break on the Soriano RBI. Axford had him fooled, but he hit it softly enough that the run scored. Here's to hoping we get Wild Marmol tonight.
  10. Yeah, I promised a new one in the Suppan thread, but the draft left me with little time to look for a new one. Between my last two (Hoffman and Suppan) I'm afraid to transfer the bad mojo to someone else...maybe I should just change it to Ted Lilly and be done with it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. That Nats farm system is really starting to look good. The NL East is going to be scary good in a few years.
  12. Indications are he won't be cheap.
  13. Mayo saying Chris Sale is going to CHW at 13. Damn...so close.
  14. Cincy taking Grandal is at least a little surprising to me. I heard he has the same agent as Yonder Alonso, and those were some bitter negotiations last year. They're definitely stocking up on 'Canes, though.
  15. DeShields does in fact go to Houston at #8. I love having Ed Wade in the division.
  16. Apparently, Chris Sale may fall a bit. It'd be interesting if he were there at #14, but I'm with bk on Ranaudo. Get the guy who was the #2 on a lot of mock drafts before the season started? Fine with me. Edit: jimcallisBA It was Harvey or Cox to Mets. DeShields goes 8 to Hou, believe Whitson at 9 to SD then Choice is 10 to Oak. Cox could slide some. #mlbdraft
  17. Keith Law saying the Mets are taking Harvey after Arizona takes Loux, so there goes one name linked to the Brewers. Edit: bk's too quick for me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. The talk about the Royals backing away from Grandal in the past few days has been interesting. Doesn't seem to be as much of a lock as it used to be.
  19. I can finally get rid of the avatar. Nice. For whatever reason, I wasn't expecting this today, but it's a nice surprise. Jeff seems like a really good guy and I feel bad about being happy that he's losing his job, but he's getting one hell of a severance package. I hear the Pirates are hiring.
  20. Manny deserves better than this. Tough luck. Villa's been good in this spot all year, but I probably would've been more likely to keep Loe in, since his sinker would make that sac fly less likely. Hopefully the offense has one more run in them.
  21. McCalvy said on Twitter he'd ask after the game. There's some speculation it was done to keep Bush available for a possible start on Thursday against the Cubs, as this would be similar to throwing a bullpen session between starts.
  22. Bummer of an ending for Parra's night, but leaving him in against Rasmus was probably better than bringing in Bush or Loe to face him. Neither are very good against LHB, and this series notwithstanding, Rasmus is typically bad against LHP.
  23. First time Manny's had 9 K's in a game since 2008, when he did it twice in the span of a couple weeks. His highest K totals: 9 - 7/20/08 @ SF 9 - 8/10/08 vs WAS 8 - 8/1/07 vs NYM 8 - 6/4/08 vs ARI 8 - 5/1/09 vs ARI 8 - 5/12/09 vs FLA 8 - 9/25/09 vs PHI
  24. ....he doesn't have much choice (to complete that sentence). I don't know how accurate a lot of the rumors in this thread are, but it wouldn't be the first time Melvin had his wishes overruled by his owner (Tom Hicks and Alex Rodriguez).
  25. I don't know how I feel about Biddle. It doesn't seem like there are a ton of raving reviews out there, at least compared to the other guys that may be around at #14. Part of me is hoping it's a smokescreen or at least a "Plan C" type of thing in case certain players don't fall. Maybe I just fell in love with Stetson Allie and his awesome name, or had hopes of getting one of the college arms that could be pushed along more quickly (especially considering how bad Arnett has struggled this year).
