  1. Where's he going to play? They're not going to bench Villar. Gennett and Perez are currently hitting so they probably won't be benched. I'll be livid if he comes up here and just sits on the bench.
  2. Did anybody ever think that at any point? Maybe the idiots on the TV broadcast thought that with their constant "If he could just figure out how to throw more strikes/take more walks/have more power/improve certain pitch he could be (insert comparison of awesome HOF player)" but I don't remember anyone here or anyone else thinking that.
  3. Interesting note. Sandy Alderson was in the booth during the game tonight on ESPN. They asked him about Lucroy and whether they were in it, he said yes and that they had a lot of discussions and that they wanted him a lot but then said something to the effect of "the other team has to have their needs filled too" which to me is basically his way of saying we weren't going to part with our top prospects and they weren't interested in d'Arnaud, Nimmo etc. So it sounds like the Brewers were using their talks with the Mets as leverage for other teams but never seriously considered trading him to the Mets as long as their top prospects were off the table.
  4. No. I would be willing to eat some salary to get better prospects though. Obviously it's not my money though.
  5. I would much rather have this deal over the Cleveland deal, even with Jeffress included. Quality over quantity.
  6. What are the chances that the Brewers flip Susac to the Braves for prospects? That's an interesting idea I hadn't even considered.
  7. Bickford is going to either Brevard or Biloxi. He's in advanced-A currently. He's also been pitching in the Cal League and pitching well there. That league is a hitters paradise too.
  8. Milwaukee, I'm guessing.
  9. As a 22 year old in AAA this year, Gallo has hit .246/.381/.557 after hitting .314/.425/.636 in AA as a 21 year old. If he hits .230/.360/.540 as a major leaguer, that's great.
  10. I'll trade anyone on this team if we get enough in return. We don't have any players where the answer is a flat no.
  11. Jeff Wilson ‏@JeffWilson_FWST 2m2 minutes ago #Rangers trade news (from sources): Talking with #Brewers about Jonathan Lucroy + reliever, with Joey Gallo involved, but nothing imminent.
  12. You answered your question a sentence later. If he can be a .240/.360/.550 hitter and play an average 3B, that's an amazing player.
  13. We have to be giving up probably a reliever and starter along with Lucroy if Gallo and Mendez/Ortiz are being named.
  14. So glad I didn't see that but part of me kind of wishes I did.
  15. Are Mench, Nix and Cordero available? Mench walking through Miller Park was one of the most cringe-worthy moments on Brewers telecasts. It still makes me shake my head. I didn't see it, so yay! Although I wouldn't mind details.
  16. Are Mench, Nix and Cordero available?
  17. Source tells me Lucroy to Rangers is in "final phase." I know more than anyone that no deal is done before its done.
  18. He's a far worse prospect than Santana.
  19. Stearns isn't in a position to be picky right now.
  20. Do they have the classic option on gameday anymore? The new version is horrible.
  21. You're way overvaluing him. Nobody is going to pay a 31 year old catcher $25 million a year for 4 years.
  22. He basically said trade me in the offseason and then again during the all-star break, we work out a trade and he declines it. That doesn't sound loyal to me.
  23. This. The Indians aren't going to say we're playing Yan Gomes over you. They know Gomes suck, if they didn't, they wouldn't have been in on Lucroy. Gomes is hurt and out 6-8 weeks. And the Indians are a very likely playoff team who will get him back for the playoffs. As I said, they know he sucks and want an upgrade. They aren't benching or moving Lucroy to a different position for him.
