    Arcia was ranked as the Brewers 22nd best prospect by BA after the 2011 after he hit .294/.386/.459 as a 16 year old in the DSL. He jumped up to 17 after the 2012 season despite being injured. He jumped to 7th after the 2013 season after hitting .251/.314/.333 at Wisconsin He jumped to 2nd for the Brewers and #94 overall after hitting .289/.346/.389 at Brevard County. Now, I think every publication agrees that he's a top 15 prospect in all of baseball. And remember, this is all with a much worse farm system than what the Brewers currently have. You put a 16 year old Arcia in this system and I'm not sure he cracks the top 30 either. They may say otherwise but prospects are downgraded if they're in the lower levels unless they're a top pick like Swanson or a guy that's so far above and beyond everyone else that they have no choice but to rank him highly, like Trout. It's understandable because there's so much that can happen between rookie ball or even Class A and the majors but that doesn't mean there aren't any good prospects. It's probably even worse for international guys since I'm guessing very few people get to see them so they're relying on second hand reports from a few scouts, so if they catch a guy on a bad day, the report won't be glowing and they'll just be forgotten about until they get to America or another scout gives them a different report.

    You're taking that list way too seriously. In the Brewers farm system they have Kyle Wren ranked above Cody Ponce.

    Why for both teams? They already have Castillo who's a good defensive catcher and was good with the bat in Arizona and we have less than zero need for a 28 year old outfielder with three years of control left.

    The funny thing is they just had to unload Arroyo's salary and 6 months later they give $206 million to Greinke. Like, what are they doing? I give them credit for realizing that Greinke isn't enough but giving up a good prospect to unload salary only to give the highest AAV contract in baseball history 6 months later is ridiculous.

    @nickpiecoro Hearing from multiple sources Ender Inciarte, Aaron Blair and Dansby Swanson are involved in the Shelby Miller deal. Hard to argue with that type of return.

    I would target Edwin Diaz in a Lind trade to Seattle and one of Mazara or Brinson along with Ortiz, Mendez and Jurado in a Rangers trade with Lucroy.

    Disagree with this. He hit .221/.277/.298 against LHPs. That's a complete disaster. He's a fantastic platoon bat, or at least that's what he should be.

    The GM typically only sees a few possible first round picks and gives input on those players only. 99.9% of the draft is left to the scouts, crosscheckers and scouting director.

    He's gone 7 innings or more 19 times in 47 starts. If we were close to competing and had a really strong farm system, Fernandez is a guy you consider selling prospects for. We're not though, so we shouldn't even consider it.

    Yes, thank you. Needing to get a catcher of the future or a 3rd baseman of the future is not the way to trade. You're severely limiting the talent you can get back if you only focus on getting certain positions or getting guys close to the majors. Get the best package of players you can and figure it out later.

    These last two trades are pointless to me. I'd rather have Stearns spending time working on trades that will actually make a difference for this franchise. Make these kinds of moves after you have Lind, Lucroy and anyone else sorted out.

    Could this be the end of Gennett? Villar could play 2B, Herrera can play 3B, Perez and Rivera can fill in everywhere. Gennett might be trade bait either alone or as an extra piece that could give us an extra prospect we like as part of a bigger deal.

    I know a lot of you don't like him but Keith Law on his Periscope chat yesterday said Betancourt is at least a utility player with a chance to be a star.

    Chisenhall moved to the outfield last year and they seemed to like him there.

    Don't think we even match with Toronto. Their farm system is depleted and they already have Revere with Saunders coming back next year to fill in in LF so it's not like they're going to be out pursuing an upgrade over pitching or anything.

    That seems like a really poor return for two solid, controllable pieces to me.
