  1. Sedar gave him a stop sign, then Marte bobbled the ball so Sedar starting waving him in but Davies didn't recognize it so he went back to 3rd.
  2. You mean other than the player not performing and not being able to trade them? Even if Span can only get a one year deal, he could probably get a deal more than we would be willing to pay with a team better than us. I'm sure the Nats would take him back if he couldn't find a multi-year deal in free agency. Even if we're using the Feldman/Arrieta example. At the time of that trade Arrieta was a 27 year old with a 5.50 ERA. I don't even think the Cubs thought he would basically turn into a Cy Young contender. I'm not really seeing a whole lot of players at positions of need that would be willing to take a one year value building deal anyways. We should be more focused on maximizing the value of Lind, Lucroy, Davis, Segura and maybe Braun instead of looking for one year value buys that we could maybe flip later.
  3. Are you even looking at Olt's numbers? 2011 Advanced A ball .267/.387/.504 2012 AA .288/.398/.579 He no doubt struggled in AAA in 2013 but then went to AAA in 2014 and hit .302/.348/.585 and this year he's hitting a not as good but still decent .265/.333/.460. Minors career Rogers .290/.372/.466 Olt .263/.361/.486 And while Olt hasn't done much in his time in the majors, neither has Rogers. Unless you consider a .647 OPS doing something. And I really don't care where he plays although it would obviously be 3rd base with us since we have nothing there. He's just as good of an option as Rogers, Herrera, Clark or any other player you could think of throwing out at 1st or 3rd base with the potential to be a possible solution for at least a few years.
  4. Olt for any of those positions over any of the players you listed. For the sake of something different or because you think he has more to offer? I could see 3rd, but not First. I think he has the potential to be better than any player you listed. He was once one of the top prospects in the game. Now the chances he fulfills that status are now slim to none, it's not like any of the players you listed are going to be any good.
  5. Olt for any of those positions over any of the players you listed.
  6. The Texas League is pretty neutral.
  7. Likely to have TJ surgery. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/323329531.html
  8. It's going to be steamier in Miller Park than a fresh pile of dog crap on a cold winter's morning.
  9. The strike zones in LLWS and softball are notoriously horrible but not in the way where there's only one called strike in 39 pitches. I've honestly seen strike calls that are thrown in the opposite batters box. It's horrible.
  10. Is #WisDataStrongFan the dumbest hashtag in the history of hashtags?
  11. This has been known for a while. They had an overslot deal with him until they discovered the elbow issue which made the Brewers lower their offer to an underslot deal, which Kirby took. I just hope Tommy John or something that would cause him to miss a bunch of time isn't needed. Edit: I see that all the things in my post above was put in that story.
  12. Pittsburgh is very likely to make the playoffs for the third straight year. The Brewers have made the playoffs four times in 46 years.
  13. If we're trading Braun and Lucroy and offsetting a ton of the cost of Braun by taking back Mauer, we should be getting at least one of Sano, Buxton or Berrios.
  14. We are not contending, we are rebuilding. As much as you don't want to hear that, we don't need any batter handedness. We need a ton more talent, preferably prospects or major leaguers with little service time. If we aren't getting that in trades, we shouldn't even bother.
  15. I don't know why this producer thinks this right field camera is a good view for watching pitches, but it's not, so stop.
  16. Lincecum was no better than a 4-5 when he threw his last no hitter. Chris Heston is probably a 4-5. Somebody already mentioned Humber. Dallas Braden. Eric Milton. Scott Erickson.
  17. [sarcasm]Probably for Berrios if the Twins make the playoffs.[/sarcasm]
  18. "You gotta have someone with experience at the top." No you don't. Shut up, Brian.
  19. Sarcasm? This should be sarcasm. Who cares if a last place team has a crappy bullpen?
  20. I'm fine with this as long as he starts. Don't care if it's a corner or CF, if he sucks defensively, which he probably will, that's okay. Just want to see his bat and it's not like Peterson is a great defensive player either.
  21. I've said it before but lack of a third pitch, specifically a changeup against lefties kills him. He had a decent one but the Brewers never made him throw it so it never improved and now he has trouble getting left handed hitters out because he throws a fastball that leaks to the middle of the plate and a slider that goes low and inside, which is where most lefties want it.
  22. It's really a shame the Brewers never made Peralta throw his changeup in the minors. He had a decent one in Appleton but rarely threw it and now that he's in the big leagues, lefties crush him because he only has a fastball that runs over the plate and a slider.
  23. Didn't Jimmy Nelson have a velo spike at AA or AAA as well?
  24. Cravy is why I wasn't thrilled with getting Davies back for Parra. He's going to need amazing command to get big league hitters out with stuff that mediocre.
  25. Davis in center would be like Braun at 3rd.
