  1. Yes, it was awful. The whole team other than Delfino was terrible. Salmons missed the entire preseason.
  2. Not as bad as Sparky saying that fans would buy tickets if Bobby Valentine was named manager.
  3. Joe Cowley is saying it's Ron Roenicke.
  4. Why do we have to compete? Why can't we just wait a couple years and see how our prospects do?
  5. But that's my point. He has never fit into the framework of any offense and he kills the defense. He thinks he's much better on offense than he really is. A career .519 TS% is not someone who should be taking as many shots as he does. That's worse than Charlie Villanueva's career TS% and no one would mistake him as a good offensive player. He's also horrendous on defense, slow on everything. Can't play out on the perimeter because he's too slow and too slow to react on the weakside. Also commits dumb fouls. Skiles is going to hate the way he plays when he sees him more and I think it's pretty clear he's already starting to hate the way he plays based on his minutes. This is going to be an albatross contract that we're going to be looking to shed and soon. Kohl wants the home opener on a weekend and the season never opens on a weekend so we always start on the road.
  6. Gooden isn't going to suddenly change in his 9th year. He is what he is and that's a detriment to the team he's playing for.
  7. It works again.
  8. Noboby else was doing anything and Boykins wasn't horrible for the first few minutes. After we got within 6 I would've taken him out though. Way too much of a defensive liability with his size to be playing a lot of minutes. At one point last night Jennings was guarding Wesley Johnson who has 6 inches and 35 pounds on him.
  9. You guys realizing what I said about Gooden? The guy is a horrendous basketball player who is a negative contributor on the court.
  10. Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks, Corey Hart and Yovani Gallardo were all untested too.
  11. 3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. I loved napping when I was a kid. Still do. 5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? What the hell's a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? Kind of. I write with half cursive, half printing. Like if there's an es somewhere I'll write the e in cursive, won't take the utensil off the page and make the s in print. It's really something. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. This is the truth. 23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time! I never use the snooze button. I'm too lazy to reach over and actually hit the button, so I just get up when the alarm goes off. Or if it's not important that I get up, I just turn the alarm off and go back to sleep. 24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. It's not that the brain isn't important, just that getting hit in the head hurts less. I'd rather have a headache than the pain down there to go along with a stomach ache. My experience you say? I have hit my head on a basement floor playing football (yes, we played football in the basement) and I have been hit by a puck down there as well as kicked during a fight with another dude. Yes, a dude kicked me there. I went down like a heap in the parking lot.
  12. The thing about Gooden getting tougher on defense is he's going into his 9th year. You just don't change players that late in the game and he's too dumb on rotations as well.
  13. Not 8 years into his career.
  14. Gooden is our new Hakim Warrick, only we have him for five years. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. Took the dog out at about noon. Was actually pretty nice, sunny, fairly warm. Just took her out again. Cloudy, cold and awful would best describe it.
  16. Lame. Arrowhead played DeForest in non-conference games a couple of times when I went there and they were called the Fighting Norskies then.
  17. It's probably going to take a lot for him to give up his cushy job at ESPN.
  18. Bill Scott says the Brewers are working on a deal with Bobby Valentine.
  19. Is DeForest still called the Fighting Norskies?
  20. 16,500-17,000 sounds about right. The Bucks averaged 18,178 the year after they went to the Eastern Conference Finals and were one of the favorites to come out of the East.
  21. I hope the Hornets get contracted and we get the first pick in the dispersal draft. Welcome to Milwaukee, Chris Paul! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. I've gotten around five obvious scams in my email today. Some dudes in Burkina Faso would like to send me between $15 and 19 million for some reason that I didn't read completely because it's so obviously a scam.
  23. Would prefer to see the Giants win, but I won't be upset if the Rangers win.
