  2. Did you even watch the game? Ersan made a great pass to Bogut, got a great pass from Bogut and nailed a 3 down the stretch while also playing good defense on Dirk. Gooden had his ass glued to the bench where it belonged until Bogut fouled out and Gooden failed to grab a rebound that gave the Mavs another possession with the oppurtunity to tie it.
  3. Why is Wolf "expected" to rebound? He's in his mid 30s, pitchers don't normally rebound in their mid 30s.
  4. You probably shouldn't complain about schedules this year. The Brewers have 18 games against the Cardinals, 16 against the Reds with 9 on the road and only 15 against the Pirates and Astros. We also only have 5 against the Padres but 6 against the Giants, 6 against the Dodgers and 9 against the Rockies. We also have 7 against the Phillies, 8 against the Braves and 7 against the Marlins and only 6 against the two worst teams in the NL East. Plus, our interleague schedule is easily the hardest in the league. vs, Minnesota, vs Tampa Bay, @ Minnesota, @ Boston, @ New York. It's also not really fair for us how the Twins are our designated rival while the Cardinals get the Royals and the Reds get the Indians. So don't cry to us about that either. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. I don't know how anyone can listen to that guy for more than a minute.
  6. Great win. Ersan is so much better than Drew Gooden it isn't even funny.
  7. Thank you. That's exactly right. $100 million sets him, his kids and more than likely a couple of other generations of family up for their entire lives. It's so refreshing to see a player take less money to go to a place he truly enjoyed. You rarely see that and it makes me respect Cliff Lee a ton.
  8. I don't think much of this Brewers team right now and with Fielder's impending free agency, I think this is the last year they have to "compete" for a couple of years, so this year was our only chance and I don't think we're even close to good enough.
  9. Joel Sherman says the deal is 5 years and about $100 million. Just a touch of irony that the Yankees struck out on every big name free agent and now one of the best free agents on the market is Carl Pavano. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  10. Good for Cliff Lee. Taking less money and years to pitch in a place that he likes.
  11. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News says it's a 5 year deal.
  12. No terms on the contract yet. Kind of sucks that the Rangers couldn't keep him but at least the Yankees have struck out on every big name free agent.
  13. Ugh. A rotation of Gallardo/Marcum/Wolf/Blanton/Narveson isn't a playoff caliber rotation.
  14. You aren't using his splits between reliever and starter. Starter: FIP - 5.24 xFIP - 4.34 Reliever: FIP - 2.87 xFIP - 3.08 I agree with And That, his fastball is awful, -75 runs. He could have a ton of value to us in the bullpen though. He can go multiple innings, he has a good strikeout rate, his walk rate is better it sucks but he's best suited as a reliever.
  15. Why would they want Hart? They'd rather pay Greinke, a much better player than Hart for two years than trade for Hart at this point. And Hart's contract isn't a bargain right now, if he reverts back to 2008 and 2009, it's a horrible contract.
  16. What is this, Wisconsin or California? http://media.jsonline.com/images/600*377/03storm-nws-kwg-3.jpg http://media.jsonline.com/images/600*339/10storm-nws-kwg-1.jpg
  17. Ryan will solve their offensive problems for sure. They basically got a Jack Wilson clone when they already have Jack Wilson on their team.
  18. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.
  19. Teams aren't going to give up a lot for Parra the starter because of how he has fared as a starter. His value to us as a reliever is more valuable than what we would get for him in a trade imo.
  20. His changeup has been worth 60 runs the past 5 years though and we know the Brewers love a good changeup. Plus, if Shields actually is cheaper prospect/player wise to acquire, he'd be preferred to me, especially since he potentially has an extra year of control.
  21. Ehh, Shields' LD% this year was 20.3% and his BABIP was .354. Last year his LD% was 20.5% with a .317 BABIP. I don't really think it's a factor unless you have like a LD% of 30% or something.
  22. Shields is basically a harder throwing Marcum who is under control for four years. I'd take Shields over Garza, especially if we have to give up less. I would take that with a huge grain of salt. Big Rygg and South Side Rob call into WSSP all the time and I'd be absolutely shocked if they have any inside sources.
  23. Less than an inch of heavy, wet snow but the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen. Had to walk to the street light to get decent pictures because all I have is my crappy cell phone camera. http://oi53.tinypic.com/5kmwye.jpg http://oi51.tinypic.com/11jrwhe.jpg http://oi51.tinypic.com/2hi6qh3.jpg
  24. I would take pictures, but it's raining by me or maybe some gross rain/snow mix.
