Well, it's nice that Looper is giving the lead back and then some. Anybody else think Brian and Bill were taking veiled shots at Happy Youngster after Telly was done interviewing the guy who caught McGehee's homer?
Yeah, I would say McClung. Dillard needs to have more strikeouts than walks to become a viable option to me. I just can't see Cody having success as a starter in the majors.
Yeah, I wasn't saying there was, just posted the numbers. The start after the "Fielder incident" he pitched 7 innings of 1 run ball and struck out 9. Of course that was against the Nationals, but still. If it really effected him, I would suspect it would've been the next start.
Trey Watten doesn't get nearly enough pub, but he has struck out nearly a batter per inning (8.75 per 9) and has been a ground ball machine with over 3.5 ground outs for every air out.
According to Dick Stockton, Juan Nieves played in the last game at County Stadium. It would be great if he just didn't talk. And before anybody points out "Why are they paying him then?" I would pay him not to talk.
Fleury and Talbot won that game for them tonight. The Pens were way too passive in the third period not wanting to make mistakes. They allowed Detroit to play in the offensive zone way too much. They're lucky they didn't go to overtime or lose.
I think they want it to be comfortable for the fans. So when it's in the 60s like it was today, fans wearing shorts and t-shirts are going to be pretty cold, especially when they aren't in the sun. Although when the roof is closed, it's pretty muggy and uncomfortable inside the stadium, even in colder weather so I'd prefer the roof be open on days like today.
If it was his back I would think we'd have heard something from either TH or on the broadcast today. TH hasn't said anything about his back and I don't recall Brian or Bill mentioning his back during the broadcast. And it was pretty weird that Macha used Rivera in the 9th when Hardy was still available.
