  1. The brewers SP depth is like 9-10 wide. They need a bat. They don't have money to compete with the big market teams for said bat. There is no help coming from Nashville in 2026, except for maybe Pratt. I don't think this increases or decreases the odds of the eventual Peralta trade.
  2. players like him will want to maximize 2026 earnings with likely no 2027 season+, so doubtful unless that's the best he can get.
  3. I think people are forgetting he got the 10MM buyout too, so the brewers are committing 30.05 million to woody.
  4. Maryland is a team that Marquette has to beat. I have no issue with losing to Indiana although I wish they were in the game at least. Maryland is #60 in KenPOM, Marquette is 51.
  5. This is a big surprise to me. It would appear that Weeks decided he didn't want to be in the dugout anymore based on Arnolds comments.
  6. I really don't think a salary cap will help. The small market teams have a revenue issue, not a payroll issue. The LA dodgers signed a 25 year / 8.35 BILLION dollar TV deal in January. That is 345 Million a year to show their games. On the flip side the brewers get paid 12-14 million per year to show games. How does a salary cap fix this? I'm tired of those saying Mark A is cheap when other teams are basically getting 300 million+ more per year to broadcast their product over TV. fix that issue and good owners will invest more in their team and a salary cap won't be necessary. Also as I posted before, the concessions the owners would have to make, would hurt the brewers (ie getting rid of arbitration) would affect the brewers worse than not having a salary cap.
  7. Mark A has done a wonderful job to bring in former GM's under Arnold as obvious replacements if needed. This would make a succession plan easier as they would learn the "Brewer way"
  8. I do wonder if this promotion came with a contract extension, if not he is up after 2026 anyway. I wouldn't be surprised that after the 2026 (if there is a 2027) season, he is the POBO only and a new GM is named (assuming he doesn't leave obviously).
  9. Honestly, the brewers would benefit more from keeping arbitration rather than a salary cap IMHO. But I agree, the PA would start there.
  10. the Miz parts makes sense. If they lose today, I don't think you want to throw him out in a do or die. That's more suited for Quintana. The Ashby part confuses to me to no end
  11. To me, Megill or Keonig makes so much more sense than throwing out Ashby again. I hope it works out, but I'm worried.
  12. The issue is the 7th and 8th. Koenig has struggled. Miller has been ok minus a bad outing or 2. This is own is overworked and now everyone moves over a chair. This would be a great time to use yoho but it’s clear that murph doesn’t trust him (hopefully just yet)
  13. August is another Brutal month.
  14. I don't think since it makes sense to rush Pratt's development for minor short term gains. He is 21 and batting .250 in double A. I don't think shaking his confidence by having him hit MLB pitching in a pennant race helps him or the crew.
  15. if we can 12-14 users to participate, I think its feasible.
  16. No fees, just for fun. I’d commission. I heard many say it’s the best way to do it. The h2h fantasy league that I have done forever isn’t happening. Seeing if I can do something here just for fun. If I get enough responses I’ll start one and pm people with info to sign up
  17. Castro would have been a great pickup to replace Montesario as a UIF.
  18. more than Mason Miller I would think since he is a starter with as much control. Its why I cut ownership and Arnold some slack on their lack of activity since they did than any other team to improve their team prior to deadline week.
  19. Deadline: B-. thats just above average they got a (hopefully) high end reliever and didn't have to give up a prospect. That being said, this thread misses the point, if you throw in Vaughn and Priester, its an A. If the brewers wanted to get a pitcher with 5 years of control and has won 9 straight decisions, the price would be enormous. Vaughn also would have cost way more than Civale. The trade deadline is just a day.
  20. you cannot get comp picks for an in-season trade. Brewers would get nothing. This was all vetted out during last season when trying to figure out what to do with Adames.
  21. This makes the lockridge pickup make sense, easy to cut him loose once Jackson is back. When I heard the name, I would have preferred someone that was didn’t have to be on the 40.
  22. I totally forgot he was already in the organization in 2020 until I looked at his wiki page.
  23. I’ll give Arnold credit for creativity, but it’s frustrating that every team in contention was throwing around prospects like candy and the brewers only did these moves that basically offset salaries. to be clear, I’m not advocating for the Arnold to act like preller and be wreckless, but the brewers doing habe trades a prospect or 2: in the 8-18 range and be ok.
  24. well lets see what the asking price is at 4:45pm. He is a unrestricted FA in 2 months.
