  1. yeah i heard they had a promise to him. i would have preferred Bam. a lot of great options on the board that they passed on. Allen, Ferguson, Giles to start with.
  2. he would have been perfect, but just taken by the hornets. i would have given up next years #1 to move up 6 spots.
  3. draft night, one of my favorite days of the years. i find it as the most entertaining draft to watch (have seen most of the players, shorter time between picks, 1 day event, etc) Prediction time: Who i want: 1) Isiah Hartenstein 2) Frank Mason Jr Who I predict: 1) Jarrett Allen 2) Dillon Brooks
  4. like i suggested, i think if the bucks threw in parker, thon, monroe's expiring contract, their 17 and took on Noah's contract, i think it gets it done. It also works out money wise. I am not sure the bucks would want to give up that much though (nor do i necessarily think that it is prudent thing to do)
  5. well they do, but the question is do they want to give up that much and will he want to stay here long term. parker / thon / monroe for porzingas / noah
  6. i would give up ANYTHING in the organization but Giannis to make Porzingas happen.
  7. i think that is up in the air, Helena's PDA is expiring in 2018 too. Right now the only thing that we know is that the brewers will have their Low A team in Appleton and double A team in Biloxi in 2019.
  8. i believe if we go back to last fast when the brewers were looking at Fresno as an alternate to CS, the biggest draw back is the stadium. i agree anywhere the brewers go is better than what they have now. Also moving into a double A park isn't the best thing either if they stay in San Antonio. the other issue is that i am sure the brewers would rather move east rather than further west. When they were in Indy or Nashville that was a great situation if a move had to be made quickly. the brewers have a good farm system and have a good relationship with the owners, i don't think its entirely 100% assured that the brewers won't be in San Antonio, just think its unlikely.
  9. i think the most likely scenario is that the brewers and astros swap affiliates and get Fresno http://ballparkdigest.com/200905261902/minor-league-baseball/news/affiliate-dance-2012
  10. already posted this in MLB forum, but the brewers are still screwed IMHO. I am sure the ownership group will want to get a texas team as their affiliate. my guess is that the brewers will get stuck with Fresno and Houston gets San Antonio http://ballparkdigest.com/200905261902/minor-league-baseball/news/affiliate-dance-2012
  11. https://www.milb.com/sky-sox/news/affiliated-baseball-to-remain-in-colorado-springs/c-237820390/t-196093366 So sky sox will move to San Antonio, time will tell if this will be good for the brewers, my guess is that the brewers will just get another crappy affiliate after being the last team at the table at the end of next season.
  12. -how does that work when teams play eachother for the 2nd time? -most of the pitchers in the brewers proposed rotation, all teams have a solid scouting report on and also most batters in the league have faced, so its not going to work.
  13. pitching half your games at Petco has to help.
  14. i agree, fivethirtyeight gives the brewers a 32% chance on making the playoffs and give the cubs a strong chance on catching them. I can't see the brewers making a deep playoff run. I wouldnt' want to mortage our future for a short playoff gain. Think about the bucks trading for JJ Reddick to simply make the playoffs and how much they regret that now. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2017-mlb-predictions/brewers/
  15. its the joys of having a really good minor league system. not a bad problem to have. there is some fat on the 40 now that could easily be gotten rid of and easily 5 players that need to be protected,
  16. maybe they did, maybe they didn't. My point was that we really knew nothing about him before mid last week and that he wasn't on the original list of GM candidates. I am interested to see what he says in his press conference and the draft has definitely some added drama on Thursday.
  17. Wouldn't He get about as much as the brewers had to pay for Jerry Hairston jr? It wouldn't be a hall.
  18. don't they. the closing position is the most fickle position on the diamond. While they may be dominent one season, the next season they could lose it in a second. How many dominent closers have the brewers had in the last 20 years that completely fell off the radar the next season (Axford, Kolb, Turnbow, Hoffmann, Doug Jones, Doug Henry, (I could go on). Also Knebels season came from nowhere - he showed nothing last season to make Stearns think he could close or they wouldn't have given Feliz 5.3MM to close. i think if the brewers are in it, i wouldn't trade him, but if they do not feel they can pass the cubs, considering the market for closers, i would trade him to the highest bidder in a second.
  19. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2017/06/bucks-close-to-naming-jon-horst-gm.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook Jon Horst to be bucks GM. don't know anything about him and didn't know he was in the organization for the entire Hammond era. Justin Zanik has to be irate, since it was clear from the beginning (hindsight being 20/20) that they never wanted him as the GM.
  20. Wisconsin Herd logo release party is next Thursday, during the draft. Anyone not think that its a basketball with 3-5 running deer in it, green and white color.
  21. I heard unconfirmed rumors (on the Mark Belling show), that the 3 owners and Thorn all have different #1 choices, which is what is taking so long. Its why you really need to have 1 guy, similar to the brewers, in charge making these decisions for better or worse.
  22. very interesting, Arturas Karnisovas was promoted to Nuggets GM and withdrew from the bucks GM search. Presumably this means that Justin Zanik is the last man standing, unless the search is opened up again. I wonder if this means that the nuggets felt they had this move because the bucks were close to hiring him. https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-nuggets-promote-arturas-karnisovas-gm-234104018.html
  23. he has done nothing to indicate to any team he can pitch in late inning situations. Why would any team claim him and be on the hook for basically 2/3rds of 5.35MM. I could see him signing a minor league deal with someone once he clears waivers at most.
  24. Feliz was (thankfully) DFA'd today to make room for Garza. I know Suter was sent down after the game, presumably for Garza, so I think another roster move needs to be made. Moves have been fast and furiour of late, but I think i am right?
