  1. if you run the NBA trade machine on ESPN that trade (without the 1st round pick included) has the bucks expected wins is at +4 and cavs -1. i agree i am not sure how Kyrie fits in Milwuakee nor do i see him staying here after his contract is up. the move does show Giannis that the bucks are serious about putting stars behind him. Middleton is a great player but he isn't an all star. Brodgen is a good player but i do not think he has much potential for improvement. you are correct, my hesitation is that the team is still Giannis's and if Kyrie gets traded he is going to want to be the man or else he might as well stay in Cleveland.
  2. i would do this, you really then have a clear big 3 if jabari can get / stay healthy.
  3. the brewers have an problem (a good problem but one none the less. they have atleast 1 and maybe 2 infielders too many. I'd player Walker at 2nd everyday and i would platoon Villar and Broxton in CF the rest of the way (at make it clear that they are both playing for roster spots in 2018. those 2 players are by far the most disappointing brewers this season. Sogard can then back up Arcia and Walker. If Villar continues to play well I could then let him return back to 2nd next year and not worry about resigning Walker. If he doesn't then the brewers have a decision to make.
  4. i think this depends on how Villar performs the last 40 games. I think Stearns and Counsell still hasn't given up on JV. I would love to have Walker back but Villar is 5 years younger.
  5. He is owed $5mil over two months. That is a lot of money...a lot. They have to pick up money just to make him a salary dump. i think the worst case prospect wise is Clint Coulter, this is a salary dump for the Mets.
  6. i think its so sogard no sense to have villar, sogar and walker on the 25 man and only 1 has options.
  7. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/08/brandon-phillips-clears-revocable-waivers.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook he cleared waivers, maybe he could be the solution at 2nd base for the stretch.
  8. is this the norm? if the brewers are paying for the stadium, why should anyone get to use it when not being used. wouldn't the brewrers want the field surface in great condition at all times and not just used by any schmuck?
  9. i am happy that there were really no changes to the bucks uniforms and they were not nikified. http://www.nba.com/bucks/harley the patch doesn't really look like belongs though, it really stands out on the jersey, which I guess is good for Harley Davidson but bad for bucks fans.
  10. personally I do not see how ANY town investing into a spring training stadium is a good investment. you basically are paying millions of dollars to have a team play games there for 5 weeks that locals have NO connection with. Yes for that time, tourism is very good, but at some point it is a bad investment in how long the ROI is. that being said, I ould think that if Gilbert falls through some other city would be interested in a new stadium depending on how much the brewers are willing to invest. I think the best way to get this done is to find a Florida team to pair with, this seems like the best way to get a deal done based on past stadium projects. it seems that the brewers are the ones being proactive in getting out of Maryvalle, which is a good thing.
  11. thanks Laura, you backed up my thoughts. I am going to enter in at the hot corner, and am hoping to be in line by 6.
  12. id love the move, but I agree not going to happen. doubt Pittsburgh would trade him and if they would it wouldn't be inside the division unless the price was HUGE.
  13. hi i am going to the game on thursday and am looking for suggestions on how early one should show up to guarentee getting a backpack. i think its slightly tricky, with the packers, albeit just a preseason game, playing, but the twins always draw well at Miller Park. i would assume before 630?
  14. i am not sure if i should be impressed with Woodruff or not. He has gotten out of every mess he has made, but seems to be getting more confident in the last inning or 2. yeah this offense is brutal. hopefully have the DH the next few games will help somewhat.
  15. i think he is a starter, just not this season. he wouldn't be the first top prospect to get his MLB feet wet in the pen for his first season.
  16. when I saw this I checked with my friend who used to live in Arizona, says Gilbert has almost no crime and is experiencing a lot of new growth and is also a short drive to Tempe and Awatukee. I hope that this happens.
  17. It has to be Susac, he was decent last year after the trade, but obviously has fallen off drastically. Pina has earned the right to play 6 out of 7 games, so i am not too worried about the catching situation until Vogt returns.
  18. ESPN has woodruff starting on Thursday
  19. I agree, but just because they lose 8/10 there are not that team either. I think once the dust settles the brewers will finish 500 and I can atleast call it a successful season since it will be about 10 games better than I expected. the brewers got everyones hopes up by a hot late june / early july and now people are freaking out because they are as cold as they were hot. I think most people on this board are realistic, especially compared to the general fan base, but I agree with you.
  20. Wilson seems like another swarzak, not much there before this season. Wilson though does have another year of control, but if he returns to 2016 form the brewers would get pennies on the dollar for him. Look at Jeffress and Lucroy. if the brewers were still 5 games up, fine. lets go for a division title this season. loosing 2 out of 3 really sucked this weekend. at this point, I want the brewers to get a starter for the stretch today but hope that nothing more than fringe / very low level prospects are involved.
  21. This will be awesome
  22. Torres? That was a real quick hook yesterday
  23. its very rare for a traded player to show up the next day. although the image of Kevin Mench showing up mid-game to a hero's welcome will always be ingrained in my head. players are people too, who have families, belongings to pack, etc. just think if you go transferred in your line of work to a new city, would you be able to be in your new office the next morning? throw in that the white sox were taking on a player on the DL, and i am not mad at him at all.
  24. Why? Would just take ab's away from Phillips and Brinson. Get 1 more pitcher for a fringe prospect and call it a day
