  1. 5 is a major league record: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/home_runs_allowed_records.shtml
  2. perfect, shows that DS has a price and will not overpay no matter what ownership wants. the brewers got 2 arms and really have up 2 fringe prospects. i would love to see those that freaking out about Cordell's reaction when the brewers got him less than a year ago. I am OK with giving up players like Cordell to go for a division title while still keeping all top prospects in the organization.
  3. that link doesn't mean the brewers are not in on Verlander, its just why he doesn't make sense. it would be a way to get a good starter without giving up prospects. i don't rule out the brewers getting him.
  4. huh? from where?
  5. i just reviewed his game log, he has had 3 bad outings so far this season, which has really inflated his stats. i think if the Tigers are simply looking to unload salary and do not expect top prospects back this would be the way to go rather than unload the farm to get a Gray.
  6. i think its more clark than Cordell, Hernandez is only 19.
  7. i felt that it wasn't going to happen, if it was going to happen it would have happened a few weeks back when they first met. he really hasn't been linked to anyone but Milwaukee so he didn't really have much of an interest if he does sign i would be interested to see what he signs for, maybe the bucks wanted him and couldnt' shed salary and didn't want to give up picks / pay the luxury tax to make it happen, who knows. . I don't see how he fits in Cleveland either though.
  8. if this is true, this is great news for bucks fans: https://cavsnation.com/breaking-derrick-rose-in-serious-talks-with-cavaliers-on-1-year-deal/
  9. yeah i don't know why Arcia is not batting leadoff for now
  10. putting this here because this is one of the dumbest things i have ever saw: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2722326-nike-and-nba-reveal-2017-18-uniforms-with-3d-body-maps-and-recycled-materials?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=programming-league&utm_medium=referral home uniforms will now be known as the "association edition" road uniforms will now be known as the "icon edition" 8 teams will have classic edition uniforms, i doubt but would love to see the bucks as one of them with the uniforms from the late 80's with the different shades of greens
  11. i think thats the point, i don't don't think Neshek would cost a top prospect and would be more of a salary dump for the phils. Maybe something similar to what the brewers got for Aaron Hill last season.
  12. IF they sign Rose to a contract of equal or less length than what Henson has left (3 years or less) and trade Henson / 1 for salary relief, i think that is OK. Henson doesn't fit this team at all. I would rather see that money be spent on someone other than Rose though. In theory it should be a late 1st which is a crapshoot in the NBA. seems like ownership is more concerned in bringing in a name that will sell jerseys rather than someone that can help this team and now we have a GM that is over his head and will do the owners bidding.
  13. in all honestly he is blocked. id rather do a move like this rather than something like the Will Smith last season (from the Giants perspective) pitching is expensive, so i think any trade for a starter or reliever, the brewers will give up something of value. i am OK with this. i though wish they would just have kept him out of CS, and brought him up right away to help.
  14. great use of a trade chip without giving any top prospect and filling in an important need with a controllable player, kudos to Stearns.
  15. i don't get it, great for the brewers but he is having an average season at best and the cubs just gave up the farm for him. better them the brewers!
  16. They would have to replace Guerras spot which may just be with blazek
  17. The corresponding move will be interesting, I think blazek moves into the rotation for now and maybe Wang comes up?
  18. id like a K-rod (2011) trade. no top prospects involved and really helped down the stretch
  19. totally agree, the cap is just under 100MM, but when marginal players like Snell is getting 12MM and hardaway is getting 17, the large cap doesn't really matter. the bucks are in cap trouble because of bad free agent signings made the last 2 off seasons, mostly because they anticipated the increased cap due to TV revenue. the best way to stay competitive is to draft well and not overpay for free agents, no matter how large the salary cap is.
  20. if Suter continues to pitch like this, i really don't see the need to add Starting pitchers. He could fill in for Guerra if needed once Anderson comes back. I would still like to add a reliever this month
  21. they do, they really need to draft well and now with a more competitive team, somehow do it in the middle to back of the draft, which is very hard in the NBA. its why the GM fiasco is so concerning. By the way, did anyone else see Thornwell's NBA SL debut last night, 26 points. him and McCaw would either / both look really good in bucks uniforms. I hate giving away picks for cash.
  22. there is alot here to say but 1) maybe giannis would only sign for 4 years, who knows? 2) the vasquez trade was for a 2015 second, and a conditional 2017 1st, that was never sent. i said at the time it was a dumb, but look at the back half of the 2015 draft, there ended up being nothing there. the pick was used for Norman Powell, who did little (besides the 1st round of the playoffs against the bucks this past season) 3) i didn't know about the MCW or 1st round pick, the 1st round pick would have been nice, but they still turned MCW into Snell which is a nice player (albeit overpaid). was it for philly's 2015 1st, i doubt it. 4) i have criticized (and will every time) not letting restricted FA's sign offer sheets to determine the market. the bucks cap situation is a mess, because of bad free agent signings. now it appears that they will have to give away picks and young players to get under the cap, which sucks. to say though that there hasn't been any good basketball moves is being overly critical though IMO
  23. That's not true, they signed Giannis to an extension, drafted thon and Malcom, snell for MCW was a good trade.you can be upset over the notching of the GM thing and rumors of giving rose huge money is concerning, but this isn't Brooklyn bad like you are insinuating
  24. i think that has to be an error, brewers would have announced before the game and i am pretty sure he can't be in the dugout as a player not on the 25 man roster. i just checked to see if CS posted todays lineup yet and haven't as of yet.
