  1. id admit i really don't start following the NBA at all until after baseball is done, so i am not up to speed. I did see in todays bleacher report power rankings they are ranked 20 (bucks 18). I know they added Teague and Ellis but their defense is horrible, how did they give 125 up to the bucks? Plumlee is going to be a disaster of a contract, like Tim Thomas and a few others that the bucks have done. Its why you don't sign your own restricted free agents EVER. you let the market decide what their value is that decide if you want to match or not.
  2. i think parker, when he is on, can do a little bit of everything. last night he went 11-17 from the field and had 8 rebounds. As others have said he has only played in 106 games in his career and is only 21,fans need to be patient with him as he develops. on a side night, last night was the first game i have watched, as i have been focused on the mlb playoffs. They did look really good against a pretty weak opponent. Seeing Maker make 2 garbage time 3's was pretty cool though. If he can grow into his body and make that shot, we could have something.
  3. my favorite mid-late lottery guy is Lonzo Ball, 6'6" PG from UCLA .
  4. I agree McCarthy is a great football coach, if he is fired he would be the most in demand coaching candidate out there. I just feel that after 11 years, for whatever reason his message isn't coming across any more. The concern with firing him, is that who is going to replace him. I do not see a great candidate out there.the last few offseasons where full of underwhelming coaching hires. I just don't want the packers to fire McCarthy and replace him with a Ray Rhodes. If they do this, they better have a great idea on who the next guy is and i don't think he is currently on the packers staff.
  5. there are early signs that it may be a tough season, the bucks beat the nets by 2 and then the bulls followed up by beating them by 20. that being said, its way too early to make statements that the bucks are going to be the worst team in the league. Do i think they are a playoff team based on the first 4 games of the season? NO. Will they atleast have a better record than the sixers, nets, magic and lakers? Yes
  6. i don't necessarily agree with this. The bucks made a huge mistake by trading away Dudley and Zaza to have cap space for Monroe. Trading Knight for MCW was also a disaster. It takes time to recover from these mistakes. Don't underestimate how much is sucks to replace Middleton with Beasley and Snell. Injuries are no excuse but it has to affect the win total this season. I think the bucks learned the evil of their ways, but signing a locker room guy in terry and guys who fit better with the team then top FA's in Delly and Teletovic, to compliment their big 3. There is something to be said about turning over the roster as much as the bucks have been doing, it takes some time to gel as a team. Regarding the cap and FA's its going to continue to skyrocket so i don't think anyone can say the bucks won't have cap space to sign a big FA if they want.
  7. i agree, my point was that they would have lost to 80% of the league playing like they did last week. Atlanta has a terrible defense and i am sure the offense will look good on sunday but i shutter about how they will play defensively. its another Ted thing, they have no freaking cornerbacks. I know you cannot account for all of your RB's to go down and 1/2 your cornerbacks, but he could have atleast tried to make the davis trade before the cowboys game or something.
  8. Obviously i am not blaming McCarthy for any personal decisions, My reasons for McCarthy is because the offense has become very predictable and stagnant and it has been like this for atleast 1.5 years. the 2 weeks they played a good or great defense they did absolutely nothing and they cannot beat up the bears every week.
  9. well he finally did give up a 7th for a need, but i agree i think its time to get a new coach and promote elliot wolf to GM. the packers have been stagnant for a few seasons now and Rodgers is now on the wrong side of 30. the fact that they got caught with NO running backs on Thursday is grounds for firing alone.
  10. If De Leon is on the table, id take that in a second.a young controllable pitcher who has had success in triple A? thats exactly what the brewers need. when you trade your most marketable player you need to do better than all guys under 20. I am OK if you get 1 or 2 in the deal, but there is a large risk / reward when you trade for guys so far away from the bigs. if the plan is to be good in 2-3 years, then to have guys just hitting their arbitration years, i think is a good thing, instead of having some guys just hitting double or triple a.
  11. Celtics released RJ hunter today. i would be interested in taking a flier on him and cutting ties with Novak or even Beasley.
  12. I have a report of things I just made up also. Report: Ryan Braun won't be traded this offseason. this article was trade suggestions that could happen in the offseason. its not a scoop, leak or anything else. nobody knows what type of prospects were being discussed in August when the dodgers and brewers talked last. This is just one mans opinion that i posted in the transaction rumors.
  13. bleacher report suggests that the Braun trade could be LAD: Braun MIL: Puig / McCarthy, 2B Willie Calhoun (#4 MLB Pipeline), SP Brock Stewart (#14 MLB Pipeline)
  14. KenPom released their preseason rankings and Marquette is ranked #47 with a record of 18-10 (9-9 in the big east) if this holds true i do not see them making the tournament. UW is ranked 8th, for those interested.
  15. So the question is whether they will be ranked at all during the season... or even make it to March Madness (top 65). i think their ceiling this season is a bubble team. Last season they played good enough to make it to the field of 65, but their SOS and RPIs were horrible which kept them out. This season, Wojo has atleast scheduled a tougher non conference schedule. I am concerned about their lack of size, but excited for the prospects of betting shooting from the outside. I think the Big East could put 5 in the dance, so obviously marquette has to do better than 7th to get in.
  16. Yes, they traded knight, because this was the pg Kidd wanted, He was going to groom him into an elite pg just like they signed Monroe, because thats who Kidd wanted, and both were disasters who couldn't get into the rotation.
  17. if Delly can slip in as the backup 1 and the jet can help out, i think its OK. my working up was only due to the fact that there were no other point guards on the roster after trading Ennis and MCW. to me delly and terry were always short 2s, but maybe I'm wrong.Delly does have 6 apg in the preseason, so this may just work out afterall. Beasley will help get some of the ppg that they lost when they lost middleton, but i did like Ennis as a backup point, since he is a true point and Giannis isn't. was much more upset about that trade then this one. i would have made only 1 of these 2.
  18. 1. Brinson 2. I. Diaz 3. Ortiz 4. Ray 5. Hader 6. Bickford 7. Clark 8. Phillips 9. Lopez 10. Diplan 11. Erceg 12. Woodruff 13. Ponce 14. Medeiros 15 Lara 16.Nottingham 17. Harrison 18. Burnes 19. Cordell 20. Williams 21. Orimoloye 22. Gatewood 23. Peralta 24. Feliciano 25. Kirby
  19. i really don't think Hammond has much to do with trades / FA's. I get the sense that Kidd is making personal moves or atleast has a huge say in them.
  20. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/17804426/milwaukee-bucks-chicago-bulls-agree-michael-carter-williams-tony-snell-trade Does anyone else hate this move? I am no MCW fan and on the surface this move is OK because Snell can help fill in the lost of Middleton. what i question is why the heck did you trade ennis for Beasley already this offseason to make up for the loss of Middleton, thus having NO true point guards on the roster, and a bunch of 2's and 3's that are average NBA players. is there another move? is beasley not making the team? who knows but something smells.
  21. and yet the bullpen coach keeps his job?
  22. Marquette is 7th in the big east coaches poll.
  23. Loosing an entire top 20 recruiting class minus cohen sucks and I think it pushed mu back. You are tight about the 3 guards but once Marquette gets into league play they will need someone to get rebounds. 3 years ago, they only had Gardner and otole as bigs and it hurt them
  24. welcome to the board, we look forward to first hand accounts on this board when you make it to games.
  25. Regarding Marquette, they are going to have trouble replacing Ellenson, with only two PF /C's on the roster (Heldt and Fischer). The Transfers that are coming in (Rowsey and Reinhardt) will be very interesting to watch and should give Marquette a more 3 point presence. This is a big year for Wojo, I am not sure how many more seasons he can miss the post season and keep his job. He continues to get top 25 classes but that hasn't translated to much.
