  1. brewers helped get the new stadium and also probably stuck around longer in hopes of getting the new stadium. I don't really care that Nashville left, and by all reports Fresno has a nice facility and only issue is getting flights out of their airport. It was nice though to be so close to Milwaukee. I know the brewers minor league system is not a top one anymore, but Huntsville had a good year. I know this happens all of the time and Nashville was under no obligation to renew with Milwaukee, but its still a little busch league.
  2. I think Counsell would be a great manager, but if he was interested in doing it or the brewers thought of him as the manager in waiting, he would be managing Rookie or A ball this season and not the special assistant to the GM.
  3. Marquette also got an athletic director today. Looks like a pretty solid hire. Former assistant AD at Notre Dame and current AD at Ball State. Right now Marquette's class is ranked 11 in the nation, and if Ellenson signs it would be top 5 which is shocking considering the state of the program only 6 months ago.
  4. I don't know how Broxton is doing, but it seems his numbers are pretty good for pitching in Cincy, and if that is the case, the Brewers would probably pick up his 2016 option for a net cost of $7M. He still hasn't pitched for the brewers, but had a rough august
  5. I have seen a lot of calls for the firing of RR. I don't get it. Do brewer fans think that he is doing anything different than what he did in the beginning of the season, warranting his termination? I don't think Narron would do anything different. Nobody on this team is playing at their level of ability. I do think that if they miss the playoffs, it would be hard to have RR return but to make a change with a month to go just for the sake of making a change seems pointless.
  6. I don't understand the Fire RR, stop going to games, the season is over sentiments. They lost 8 in a row. so what. The brewers have won 8 in a row twice this season as well. The fact that now people think the brewers will be lucky to win 6 games over last rest of the season is craziness. Drew Olson says it best that each team will have 2 hot and cold streaks over the course of the season, the brewers have used those all up. Now is the time to get off of the snide and start playing more consistent.
  7. doubt it, more likely coming to Milwaukee. I don't think the players will be announced until after the season (rule V)
  8. that article showed a side of Bruce that I was not aware of. He will be tough to replace.
  9. haven't seen it anywhere else but WSSP's facebook page, no mention on when this happened
  10. Milwaukee Brewers director of amateur scouting, Bruce Seid has passed away at 53 while visiting his family in Las Vegas, NV. General Manager Doug Melvin has released this statement on behalf of the organization: “We are stunned and devastated by the news of Bruce’s passing,” “He was a great friend to all of us, and no words can describe the sense of loss we feel. There are only a few people who have been with the Brewers as long as Bruce, and he was a kind and highly-respected member of our organization. There are also very few who worked with the passion and dedication to the Brewers that Bruce did. A number of current players on our roster were given the opportunity to play Major League Baseball because of Bruce, and he was so proud of them. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Erika, and all of Bruce’s family.”
  11. The Bella Twins story line may be the least interesting one in years (due to an unbelievable reason for Nikki turning and Brie's awful acting (not that Nikki is much better), but I am shocked that they aren't fighting at Night Of Champions. I think having AJ - Paige and the Bella Twins wrestle at the PPV would bring the most bang for the WWE's buck, but looks like that is not in the cards.
  12. I don't think the brewers gave up too much. This reminds me a little of the K-Rod deal (but we are taking on an additional season this time). We were worried about the player going back and it turned out to be no one. I think the Reds wanted to dump his salary so bad they traded him inside the division with a year left.
  13. I hope he does, but its hard to think he will pass up playing for cal or izzo to play for wojo in the big east. According to the 247 2015 class rankings, MU is 14th, getting Ellenson would give MU a top 5 class I am sure http://247sports.com/Season/2015-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings
  14. Rockies pulled him back so I don't think a trade is no longer possible.
  15. yeah I don't think we gave up / got much but if we got a lottery protected pick in 2017, then its a fine trade, plus Dudley is a high character leader who has shown the ability to hit 3's in the past.
  16. the Steph - Brie and Ambrose - Rollns match stole the show. In hindsight the Nikki heel turn was the most obvious turn in years.
  17. Summerslam is going to be very interesting on Sunday. With the lower than expected numbers of the wwe network and the need to get the initial subsciptions renewed (i'm considering canceling mine, after WWE announced you can go month to month for 12.99 and I can only get the pay per views I want, instead of making a 6 month commitment), I would expect some surprises and big story line turns to get people excited. I'll predict: Lesnar over Cena Wyatt over Jericho Brie over Stephanie (interference from Vince, Kane??) Rusev over swagger Paige over AJ Reins over Orton Miz over DOlph Ambrose over Rollins Overall this card is stacked and will easily be the best PPV of 2014 IMHO.
  18. great trade for the wolves. Love wasn't coming back after this season and every team knew that. To get the last 2 #1 overall picks and another first pick for that is a great haul. Normally when other GM's know that the player will not resign with 1 season they only give lowball offers, Minnesota got much more that that.
  19. who would they call up? I see no better player right now on their roster. I hope Doug makes a trade for an arm this month for the stretch. He does serve one purpose, when used right. He is good at inducing double plays, but other than that hasn't done much.
  20. Fiers' last 2 starts have been awful. I am not sure if Estrada is any worse or better of a choice than Mike
  21. Bucks unveil new jerseys for next season http://www.nba.com/bucks/features/bucks-unveil-jersey-changes-for-2014-15 Very minor changes, but I like it as opposed to the larger B and S. Still hope for a full overhaul in 15/16
  22. Amazingly Gooden for this year as well. They can stop paying him next year though. the top thing that has impressed me about this ownership group is that they didn't do anything dumb like throwing money after drew gooden or bobby simmons to try to move up to the final playoff spot in order to help create support for the arena. This team will probably be not that good next year, but much better than this year obviously.
  23. http://www.nba.com/bucks/release/milwaukee-bucks-announce-new-executive-leadership-and-enhanced-focus-community-affairs-and really the only thing I take away from this press release is the new owners are really trying to move away from Herb's guys, quite the demotion for John Steinmiller.
  24. I think this is an cheap trade that makes sense. He is an improvement over Overbay and is 9 years younger. I don't think Boston would expect too much back for him either. I like your suggestion of Kintzler, but I am sure Boston would be looking for a minor leaguer back for him.
