  1. small question, if k-rod pitches the top of the 9th, in a road game that the brewers are loosing, does that count as finishing a game?
  2. i think Loe has been mismanaged, and definitely cost us some wins, I'll point to the 3rd and 4th of July as possible examples, but 10 is very high. Plus there has been other factors in even those games. Maybe we can point at 2 or 3 wins max that we would have been better. Also don't forget that until Hawk and Saito came back, RR had few options for an 8th inning guy.
  3. doubt its gamel, having hearing alderson's comments i'm pretty convinced McClendon or Kinzler is one of the 2. I am perfectly fine with loosing either one of those 2. The other player I still think is a midlevel high A or AA player, like Schafer or Ross.
  4. if stetter, mcclendon, kinzler or parra is in the trade, i'm not going to loose any sleep.
  5. how much money did owners loose its articles like this that don't give me much hope that there will be a season, if 22 owners lost money last year, they are really going to want concessions that i don't see the players giving.
  6. honestly, the women haven't finished less than 3rd in the history of the cup, so i don't see this as a big deal. I am not a soccer fan but if the men made a run to the semi's I may be more interested, as they have never won it.
  7. when owners are saying they will loose less money with a lockout, i don't see much motivation for them to give in and i don't think the players will either, if they are willing to go to europe to get paid.
  8. i really hope its not meadows who could have a thatcher like contribution to the brewers in the bigs.
  9. they usually pour them up to the fill line which i think is the 12 oz? flaming lips were the highlight for me too, such a fun show. Loved Wayne Coyne starting in his space bubble and the over sized ballons that he threw in the audience that when popped they were full of confetti. http://www.oklahomarock.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/coyne_bubble.jpg
  10. i cringe too, i hope thornburg or peralta are not part of it.
  11. yeah park on the street, i think beer is 7.50 or 8 bucks for a 16 oz cup and usually it is warm when you get it because they just pour it in mass and have it out for people who buy it. at the pabst you can have a pbr tall boy for 4 bucks.
  12. a little off topic, but was that first the first home run too in brewers all star history, i can't think of another brewer to hit one and i can't seem to find all time brewer all star results online.
  13. don't forget beer more expensive than miller park...
  14. I love seeing shows at The Rave and it has been a few years so it may have changed, but I don't recall there ever being floor seats, it's just a wide open room. i should have said on the floor. The rave was fun when I was younger, but now i would rather go see a concert at the pabst, riverside, or turner any day of the week. They do have packages for the just a balcony seat, or you can do the all you can drink package. Its about 60 dollars more so you really need to get your drink on http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. The VIP balcony surrounds the floor on the second level. Personally I try to stay away from the rave, and have never been up there. I can't comment on the view, but if you go up there, you will avoid getting pushed around or ending up in a mosh pit. If you really want to be close to the artist you may want to get floor seats. if you go up there you will either be on either side of the stage, or way in the back of the hall.
  16. lucky, they are on my musical bucket list.
  17. i think we need to wait until july 31st to estimate what it will take. I wouldn't be surprised if the pirates made a big splash at the trade deadline if they continue to play well since they haven't even been above 500 in 19 years. The Cards always looks to improve at the deadline. I'd love to see the brewers get a relief pitcher atleast but understand that they really have 2 pitchers that any team would be interested in getting and you need to have some prospect pitchers in your system.
  18. I emailed their PD and got a canned response, for those that are interested: Thanks for your thoughtful feedback. We do care what our listeners think and you represent a particular group who doesn’t care for Bill. I understand and accept that. But, our belief and research indicate that Bill has a strong following and is larger. We also believe a program that will be able to spend more time talking about Wisconsin sports than a national show will be to our benefit. That’s not to take anything away from Rome. He’s a powerful brand and tough to let go. I’m sure he will find a new home I hope you will continue to use the station for the shows you enjoy. You’ll be missing a lot of excitement. Thanks, Tom Parker i am just happy that we live in an age where i can stream madison's espn affiliate and still listen when i am in the office.
  19. maybe if enough people contact Tom Parker, their PD, he may change his mind. 1250 has really made some bad decision in the land of public relations. I plan on atleast shooting him an email to tell him that after the Doug Russel thing and now this, I'm done. Its not like 1250 gets great ratings as it is, and to constantly step on their core audience is no way to run a radio station. I know I am not a PD, and I don't know what shows get what ratings, but wouldn't it make more sense to get rid of Dan Patrick, and put a local show up against the Herd, instead of putting the unit up against the D-List?
  20. link seems like this is the second horrible decision the radio station made in the last month. All they are doing is taking away a popular national show and replacing it with a local show to compete against maybe the most popular local sports talk show on the other end of the dial. The Doug Russel thing was obviously a cost cutting move, I don't think this is that, not sure why they would do this. Never liked the Big Unit. Jim Rome is really the only sports talk show i listen to, and once this goes down I will only listen to the postgame show.
  21. crossing off a band on my "musical bucket list" by seeing Flaming Lips on Saturday. I'd recommend it, they put on a great live show, no matter your musical tastes.
  22. wouldn't be surprised to see Spader move into Kathy Bates job quickly and someone gets promoted internally.
