  1. yeah his last couple of outings have been bad, he hasn't been able to finish the inning, and he isn't stretched out. I don't think its a huge deal to let him start against Pittsburgh though on Saturday.
  2. i would be interested in both of them, size XL
  3. from Todd Rosiak: Chris Narveson sliced the thumb on his pitching hand trying to repair his glove earlier tonite. Eight stitches. Out for next start. please send down dillard and let peralta start. i don't want estrada starting for this team.
  4. i know its in blue, but as long as they don't get swept they will be fine. a series win would be great though.
  5. i know we have our speculation thread but i think it will be one of nashville's relievers that have been up here at one point and then a mid-level hitter.
  6. i agree, when punk just went off on the fired wrestlers on friday, nobody really knew if that was scripted or not.
  7. seems to me to be a better option than Flores if someone is going to get called up this month. http://www.mlbtraderumors...p;utm_source=twitterfeed
  8. ey he was decent when he was with the cards. let him pitch in nashville for 3 weeks, if he can help us they can bring him up before aug 31 and put him on the post season roster. they really do need a lefty in the pen, just not sure if this is going to help.
  9. thats my point, minus getting hits in his first 2 atbats, he hasn't done much. still better than wilson or counsell, but I'd give Hairston a shot.
  10. Hart 9 Morgan 8 Braun 7 Fielder 3 Lopez 4 Betancourt 6 McGehee 5 Lucroy 2 Greinke 1 going to the game tonight and was really hoping Hairston was in the lineip
  11. a couple of points, first of all while hairston and lopez aren't headline grabbing moves, they did get the best reliever acquired in july. secondly none of the 3 teams competing with the brewers made an impact acquisition. Lee and Ludwig are shells of their former selfs, while the cards did get dotel, there is a reason why jackson has been traded so many times and furcal is also a shell of his former self. To say that the brewers aren't going to the playoffs because of what they did this weekend, is premature. I'd be more worried if the cards got bell or something. that being said i'm disappointed that they didn't get a lefty reliever, but understand that there wasn't much there.
  12. yeah they tried him running 2 heel stables, i'd like to see him do something else.
  13. bikeage, i agree with everything you posted, i'll second his recommendations.
  14. also with the lefty on the mound tonight for houson, i'm assuming we won't have to wait long for him to make his brewer debut and start in center tonight, if he can get into town before the game.
  15. i like the move. i think this also means that melvin is done. I'd like them to make one more move and replace wilson with a vet, but with furcal going to the cards, the astros telling teams that barnes is not available, and the high apparent price of carrol, i don't see it happening. Kotmatsu, while had good aa numbers, didn't have much of a ceiling being a 23 year old AA player. probably a backup of at best.
  16. don't want to turn this into the lineup thread, but to start I think he should be batting 5th. I know its Lucroys day off, but I'd like to see him get a chance at 5. McGehee has been better of late, i'd rather see him. Lopez may reclaim his 08 form and we may be fine, but he hasn't been in the bigs for a month and a half and didn't do much while up in TB.
  17. yeah i think it was lucille's, you're saying that place is lame during the week and only go on sat night, huh? i think thursday - saturday is fine, i just had a horrible experience there on a wednesday night and there wasn't even any piano playing.
  18. yeah Punk has become my favorite wreslter. Didn't have one since the Undertaker started making his once a year appearances. Wasn't a fan of him when he was in the SES or Nexus, because they weren't using him right. This remaking of Punk has been awesome. I still usually only DVR raw (so i can watch MNF or the brewers) and skip most of it, so i can keep track of the story lines and miss most of the boredom. This angle has me hooked though.
  19. wed: miller park tour, miller brewing company tour, there's a ladies night at some piano bar that was rated highly on tripadvisor.com, and possibly sneak in a lake front/riverboat ride I assume you are talking about Lucille's (DON"T GO THERE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS). I took a date there once on a wednesday night. There is no piano music, there is a dj. There are free chicken wings. There were drunk people playing beer pong, but thats about it. The lakefront tour is a blast, I believe they do it afternoons during the week. Id recommend it over the miller one. looked it up, ladies night is thursdays not wednesdays so maybe we aren't talking about the same place, but i don't know of another piano bar in town. sat night i wanted to come back to milwaukee about 10pm and hit some clubs. i heard good things about cush. would anybody recommend any other places? Kind of depends on what you are looking for. Water street is where all the college age kids hang out, Brady Street is where the "hippy" people hang out. Milwaukee Street is a booming area downtown. Its sort of higher class clientele though. North Avenue can be fun. Its more of a mixed crowd. Has a couple cool bars. Cush is part of the North Avenue area, before it burnt down. Lucilles is a blast on Saturday nights though. there will be a ton of bachelorette parties and birthdays. They bring them up on stage throughout the night to write songs for them.
  20. I know they open up 90 minutes before the game. I was always the impression that they close on game days after lunch and then reopen to ticketed people, but haven't ate at fridays before a game or on gameday.
  21. i think its shortsided to trade away next season's first base man for a fill in for weeks. I guess if you get alexi, he is your SS next season and you figure out 1st base in the off season. Thorton and Rios would be horrible. that being said he doesn't appear to be a whack job just throwing out rumors like people do on twitter. Still don't give much credence to this.
  22. me too, didn't play last year because my league shut down, would like to get back into it.
  23. his numbers aren't there, but he wasn't getting regular playing time. I assume you atleast try to plug him in to play 5 or 6 times a week until you have a better option.
  24. Tim Allen was all over this on the post game last night, i'm sure he will be happy. I think this means Farris is back down tonight, which is why Green wasn't called up? I hope so.
