  1. Kirksey was as much of a lock as there possibly could be. Not shocked on Wagner, but did think there was a chance they'd keep him due to Bakh's injury. I get that the packers will have Martin and Barnes, but he did end the season well. I guess 7 MM in cap space when you have guys that can do it just as well makes it predictable after all.
  2. Agreed on Bud. He needs to get to the finals to save his job. His predecessor was so terrible it can cloud your evaluation of him. Its often hard to judge coaches who have the 2x MVP on their roster because he can sit back and let Giannis do his thing. It seems like when things are going bad, the bucks are slow or not to adjust to figure out a way to fix it. Thats on him.
  3. no surprise Wagner as cut, Kiksley is. He did have a decent season. Packers still have 10MM to go to reach the 180MM salary cap.
  4. I think you have to accept this or being a brewers fan is not for you. Until the brewers can get TV deals remotely on par with the Mets and Yankees, this is how it goes. Brewers got their one big free agent, which was in the 7-10MM range. After Wong signed, I pretty much resigned myself to only minor deals moving forward.
  5. its a league wide issue. Stars get to play GM. This doesn't really happen elsewhere. Heck Rodgers couldn't even get the Packers to not draft his replacement rather than get him some help. you can get out of the holiday business after this season, but yes loss a lot of draft picks to get him. I don't envy Horst.
  6. I would rather have had Anderson at his deal than this personally. Mets can take the risk though easier.
  7. I think the holiday trade was made because Giannis wanted him here. If thats what it took to get him to resign, then it was worth it. He did give a list of players he wanted..
  8. yes they just lost 5 in a row, but noone remembers that they won 5 in a row just prior. These 5 games happen to coincide with holiday missing time. Forbes is a nice player, but he isn't a starting PG in the NBA.
  9. i think they are pretty similar players, only difference is that Rameriz did have a solid month in 2019 of great production. Both excelled in the minors and are looking to find their footings in MLB. I think the brewers can spare the spot on the 40 and if nothing else he is a starting corner OF in Nashville.
  10. He was DFA’d today by the Marlins. If the brewers are taking fliers on outfielders this is a good one to get and bonus is that he has an option remaining.
  11. they don't need one.
  12. hot takes is where the ratings and money are. The highest paid guys are guys like Cowheard and Skip whom atleast half the time don't even agree with their points and just through out hot takes to stir the pot I believe.
  13. I think you're reading too much into it, as it's nothing more than a virtually no-cost flier. May see something they feel they can work with him on or something. If he fails, meh. I think McKinney & Fisher are typical 40-man fringe guys who amount to depth pieces. And if something better comes along, they're possibilities for trying to slip through waivers to get 'em down to the AAA roster. At the end of ST, if they don't make our Opening Day roster, there's a good chance at least one if not both gets to Nashville since the waiver wire gets flooded with guys like this. that was my first take, just looked at the stats. I do see that it probably was a smart move to see if there is something there. The issue, is that he never got consistent playing time and with Yeli, Cain and Garcia, he may only see some consistent in Right depending on Garcia's performance and then to give the starters a day off now and then.
  14. Whole heartedly agree. I like Taylor as a backup but seems like there a chance atleast that they may have something here. They do need to figure out what to do with ray. At some point he has to come up here to see what he can do. Atleast there will be competition for the 2 backup OF spots
  15. Blue jays gave up a pretty decent package for him at the 2019 trade deadline.
  16. I think eventually teams will produce their own broadcasts, but they have to figure out how to make money doing it. I think if you can sell your own ads and get fans to pay 10-15 bucks a month to watch the games you could do better than whatever Sinclair is paying the brewers to show their games.
  17. I doubt that. He seems like nothing more than competition for gamel’s role.
  18. Head scratcher. Yes maybe they will catch lightening in a bottle on this one, but seems like you can do better for backup outfielders between free agents out there, or internally.
  19. Atleast baseball prospectus is optimistic about the brewers https://www.baseballprospectus.com/standings/?fbclid=IwAR24bkArZ4E_8w6P0qwrKEjAAsC2xWvyCIMeVLjm_HqC2txkiy0U1mJJMj8
  20. One could argue that cornerback, offensive tackle and center and larger need positions than wr. That being said I hope they get Aaron some help
  21. He is not. Personally I would have hired Evero or Gray based on what I read. Walter football was not a fan of the hire, although his assessment is full of hot takery. https://walterfootball.com/coachfirehire.php
  22. i don't think just because they deferred money that means they are going to get another, probably just accounting for the lack of fans in the stands in 2021.
  23. brad miller, ugh. why can't we just let urias have a chance at 3rd? or if you want to pick someone off the scrap heap get Jake Lamb.
  24. well it is. The brewers have been success putting catchers and Braun there in recent memory. I think Hiura has good footwork. He should be OK there and it hides his poor arm. I think most knew his long term future wasn't 2nd when he was drafted and/or brought up.
