I love it when Duke loses. As much as I dislike Huggins, I dislike Coach K and his smug Duke team even more. So good work by WVU!

<--- Proudly picked West Virginia over Duke in his bracket. LOVE IT. Wasn't sure I was going to be able to watch basketball today after the Clemson heartbreak yesterday, but it's gotten off to a darn fine start. Now the Badgers just need to take care of business....

Is there anything more predictable than a Notre Dame exit in the opening weekend? Hahaha, I love it. That's what happens when you're perennially overrated and seeded better than you should be. EMBARRASSED by Tony Bennet and company. Awesome.

Wow, marquette, wayyy closer then I expected!

Really? You must be a die hard Badger fan then.

I expected them to win. I really thought they had a shot to make the final 4.

and Texas A&M loses as somebody, again, tries to recreate Tyus Edny and go coast to coast. You know, fellas, it worked for him because he was fast, agile, and the team spread out and forced the defense to come out after them a bit. The A&M guy? He decides to drive the lane, 1-on-4, among the trees. Gee, no wonder he got his shot blocked by two guys.

Is this really the play that the coach drew up? That's the best he could come up with? Where's Homer Drew when we need him?

^ I've seen a lot of guys try to be hero's in the games so far. Chucking up deep 3's late in close games, one-on-two challenges. Some real headshakers.

Yeah, I've never gotten why teams just abandon their offense when the clocks running out. Not necessarily at the end of the game, happens at the end of halves too. Although in A&M's case I think they had less than 10 seconds so it's hard to really run your offense I guess.

However, that was really frustrating when McNeal took a 25 footer with 8 seconds left.

Wow. I can't see why really. And that's not a knock on Marquette, I was rooting for them...they're just not that good.

Marquette is quite good, actually. They played very well tonight. I think they're a top 15 team, top 20 for sure.

Badgers look outstanding right now.

I've been noticing this, too. The point guard will dribble around until there's less than 10 seconds left, and then try to penetrate, which invariably results in the hoisting of some wild shot. Teams seem to be so obsessed with leaving no time on the clock for their opponents (which is understandable at the end of a game) that they don't bother to play offense smartly themselves.

Marquette is pretty good when they are knocking down 3s. When they aren't falling, they go through periods when they can't score and thats why they wouldn't have gone very much further. They don't play a great team game, a player gets the ball, and jacks up a 3. Or James trys to take over when he should just pass the ball.

in the western kentucky game the guy dribbled down the court, passed to a wide open guy and he hit the 3 to beat Drake. Amazing how a guy with a wide open shot has a better chance of making it than the guy who is trying to go 1 on 5

Yeah!! "Pacer" FTW!

Went 7 for 8 on games yesterday. Unfortunately, my one miss was a Final Four team (Pitt). *cries*

Wow, after looking at this picture from the final shot of the UCLA A&M game, I don't know how the refs swallowed their whistles. Can you say home cooking for UCLA?

wow, all the games going down to the wire including an overtime game.Davidson is up 5 with Curry going nuts all of a sudden, Tenn and Butler tied in OT

Davidson FTW!

With Curry-Lovedale, they are a legit Sweet 16 team and have decent chance to beat Wisconsin, who is about equal to Georgetown.

wowsie, woosie, wowsers! We get Davidson instead of Georgetown.

Sorry, guys, but I better not read any posts about how "easy" a game that'll be. Especially since we all remember a game back on January 20th in Green Bay that so many people thought would be a sure win for the home team.

Davidson reminds me a ton of Gonzaga back in 1998-1999 when they first gained prominence.

I think I'd rather face Georgetown. I think the Badgers would have beaten the Hoyas. Now instead they're the "big favorite." Curry scares me a lot.

Curry scares me a lot.

Yeah, you and me both. I remember watching him in the tourney last year and was extremely impressed with him. That's one of the big reasons I picked Davidson for the Sweet 16. He is an extremely good shooter, who can also take the ball off the dribble and score. Wisconsin is in for a challenge.
