This game is a perfect example of why walks can kill. The Brewers were the beneficiaries of free passes in the 1st, and all of the Cubs' runs have come after leadoff walks.

I really should've made my first post a more positive one, so here you go:

We're still winning!

After putting put a 5 spot in the first inning, looks like the Brewers O decided to head out to wrigleyville a bit too early - they have to tack some runs on before this is said and done.

Glad to see yost with a short leash when one of his relief pitchers doesnt have their usual command. Now i'd like to see him yank turnbow that quickly when he's struggling.

Yeah, I'm really nervous about the Turnbow 8th.

He just needs to get ahead in the count. When he falls behind, he either walks guys or serves up fastballs down the middle. When he's ahead, he can break out the slider and keep batters guessing.

By the way, Wise needs to be allowed to pitch to more than one or two batters on a more consistent basis.

Why don't a I own a WISE jersey yet?

Wow, two first time poster's on page 9 of an in-game thread. Russ, what are the odds of that happening on June 29th. Welcome aboard guys.

PS - Well done Wise!

Wise has really been on a roll lately.

I'll also give Yost some love for pulling Villy before the inning got too far out of control.

Alright Matty!

I think we can all agree that Yost has been flawless tonight in his decision making.

He cannot control what CV does, but when he failed he brought in Wise instead of Spurling or Capellan. So far so good.

Let's get a few runs here and let Spurling close out the last two innings. Uh oh, Marmol is in. He has been pretty nasty lately.

Wow, way to squander a nice headstart today, Brewers. I guess I should have expected it. It's never good when you can take one inning off the board and be left with a shutout.
