Eveland is starting today for the Athletics.

6 IP 6 hits 1 ER 1 BB 7 SO up to this point.

It should be interesting to see how he does the rest of this year.

His dozens of innings in Milwaukee weren't pretty, but his hundreds of minor-league innings show that using 60-ish MLB IP as a talent indicator is not a good way to analyze.

I'm not questioning Eveland's talent. He just wasn't mentally ready for the Big Leagues when he was called up to Milwaukee. We don't have time to wait around for pitchers like that anymore. It's win now which is obviously not the mode that Oakland is in if they are giving guys like Eveland a spot in their rotation.

I can tell you they love Eveland out here...one of the few young A's who's getting a lot of press. I think Beane and the Oakland organization really love the guy and Eveland's found a home and room to grow.

Yeah the Brewers only throw out there old vets like Manny Parra, Yovani Gallardo, and Carlos Villaneuva!

Manny, Yo and Carlos seemed more ready last year than Dana did two years ago or last year with AZ. Dana has had one good game this year, I don't think the final judgement is in yet.

Relax. Somewhere on the internet the team he went up against has a fan forum with fans SCREAMING about why they can't hit off the soft tossing lefty rookie, and how they always seem to get dominated by soft tossing lefty rookies.

Eveland isn't soft tossing. Manny is older than Eveland right now. Most 22 year olds don't do well in MLB, Yo is special in that regard. Not saying Eveland didn't have some problems, but people just seem not to really understand how good he was in the minor leagues.
