Yost is very lucky that that rocket was hit right at Fielder. If it wasn't this game thread would've exploded.

Parra hasn't been working ahead all game - he's going to have to start doing that if he wants to pitch more than 5 innings a start.

Right now he's a lefthanded Vargas for this team

Totally agree. If he can start working ahead in the count he has the stuff and he is going to be an awesome pitcher. But until then he is basically like a lefty Vargas. Perfect analogy, Manny and Carlos are both awesome young pitchers but they have to start being able to throw first pitch strikes and get ahead. If they don't we are in trouble.

That was about as shaky a 5 inning stint as can be and still have a lead. Barring a complete turnaround in his next start, I think the decision who goes down when Sheets is back healthy is pretty well made.

I think this is where we need to relax. We have a lefty in there and a lefty hitter. Seems like a pretty reasonable situation to leave him in. He should be done now but I dont know why you would have made the switch for that hitter. If we switch the pitcher everytime someone in the chat said so we would use 10 pitchers a game.

Tired lefty starter facing the lefty or warmed up, rested lefty reliever facing the lefty? Maybe Ned was trying to get Manny the win.

Come on Corey. What the hell is up with you grounding into a bunch of DP's? This is like your second one in three days. You might have grounded into two all of last year.

Looks like Kyle Lohse is finaly getting what he deserves.

I don't know why, but that made me laugh out loud at my desk.

Well you know what I mean? Dude has been practically un-hittable so far this season looking like Cy Young. Were finally hitting him.

Oh yeah, my laugh was more like, "Exactly." The whole cardinals teams they just seem to be getting an inordinate amount of seeing eye singles and inexplicable pitching performances this season.

No kidding. It was a great move by Yost to keep Parra in for the lefty and get out of the inning. The bullpen is overworked as it is.

Parra's performance is exactly why I was somewhat advocating for him to start the year in Nashville (before Cappy's injury and releasing Vargas). He's going to be good, but he's still developing.

Not only that, but we don't have an off day for awhile. It's not asking a ton out of Parra to go 5 innings.

I am curious if you would still be saying this if that rocket that Ludwick hit wouldn't have been right at someone. I understand the reasoning in a way, but I think it was quite obvious that Manny was gassed

Don't you live in Nashville? Just be honest, you wanted to see him pitch in person.

Question Robin was our bench coach in 2006, I heard a rumor the reason he left was he didn't agree or get along with Yost very much and one of them had to go and it wasn't Ned so Robin quit. Any truth to that?
