I swear I posted a message in the Manny Parra thread, but now I cannot find the post I thought I posted.

 

Is this one of these issues you have been experiencing or did I not ever post it in the first place possibly because of the 60 seconds in between post rules

 

Or is some mod deleting my posts?

 

I said something along this line "that i really worry about parras innings too much, we are in it to win. but i dont like idea of him in the bullpen, it could screw him up, we have seen how some pitchers are really ineffective out of the bullpen.

Sometime this afternoon, its really weird. And this is the first time I thought I posted something and its not there. Maybe I just have an issue with pushing the button or something. weird.

Late Wednesday night, I had a devil of a time making one post in that night's IGT. It would appear, then not appear, then appear again after I'd retried. That was some type of Yuku weirdness whose source we haven't figured out.

 

Perhaps something similar happened to you.

The board was crazy for about an hour on Wednesday night, starting at 11:45.

There were problems that manifested themselves to varying degrees on various Yuku servers. There were a handful of issues reported regarding the server hosting Brewerfan, but they were pretty much scattered and random.

 

Here at Brewerfan, there were big problems during the time span hawing mentioned. Replies and edits submitted between about 11:45 PM CDT Wednesday and 1:00 AM CDT Thursday weren't posting, then showed up around 1:00 AM. After that, I personally experienced occasional short delays before replies or edits would show up.

 

The server hosting LambeauLeap was more problematic. An entire thread was lost over there. It's been manually restored by Yuku staff. Some boards reported issues that extended well beyond anything that would have happened at Brewerfan or LambeauLeap.

 

A fix was pushed to all Yuku servers early this afternoon.

Because of the server issues, Brewerfan has been credited with one additional day of ad-free service. LambeauLeap has been credited with an additional 1,000 ad-free page views.

Hey TBONE, one thing to try is to drop down your "Navigation" toolbar at the top of the page. There you'll see a display of "Recent Posts" -- at least then you can tell if the post was hidden (for some odd reason... PITCHLEAGUE!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ), or if it just mysteriously disappeared into the depths of Yuku.

Yeah I just posted the updated Wild Card standings and it appears that the post keeps disappearing. Did I do something wrong?

I wasn't the mod that hid your post, but there were instructions in the thread suggesting that the practice of posting entire standings tables be discontinued. The message I've linked to includes directions on how to provide a link that will "stick" if someone chose to follow it in the future. Providing such a link should be an occasional, rather than a daily, thing.

 

As far as threads and posts that disappear inexplicably, the Yuku issues are lingering. I've done edits on posts that take a minute to take hold, for instance. And LambeauLeap members certainly know about the big Favre thread coming and going at will.

I agree that the timing was reasonable. The main thing my message was trying to ward off was making the standings posts a daily occurrence. The first two came one day and five messages apart. If there's no discussion in between the standings posts, that forces members to open a thread to only see something most of us are likely checking anyway.

 

Secondarily, I don't know that we necessarily need the part that includes how the Rockies, Padres, etc. stand in this race. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

 

Mods will need to come to a consensus on this so members and mods alike can all be on the same page.

The Silver Lining Thread is stuck on a blank page 34. I just posted in there, but it doesn't show. I know the thread was 'stuck' like this since at least this morning.

I think there's still some serious bugs with the post counts not matching up with the right pages and the last page of a thread still not being the last one to display on the main forum page, and unfortunately Yuku doesn't seem in any particular hurry to fix the problem.

There's some not particularly helpful stuff about the reply and page numbering bug in the new toys thread. I haven't heard anything about this since it was first reported.

 

All I know is that it's a mess, and the further we move ahead from the last push, the more likely it becomes that we'll have to wait even longer. What's frustrating is that this is something that used to work just fine. It's not like a new feature was introduced with part of the new feature being flaky.
