They're hitting Pedro pretty hard already...3-1 Cubs top 3 with a man on second, no outs. Let's hope Suppan can actually make some pitches tomorrow. If this is the lineup the Cubs put out we REALLY have to have that game.

I think Fukudome's fallen off the all star train with the way he's been swinging his bat, but if you look at the stats and September splits this lineup isn't that bad

Walks are the only thing keeping the Mets in any of these games. Yesterday they had 5 runs on 2 hits at one point, today 3 runs on 2 hits. 1 unearned run in the first with no hits, 2 runs in the 4th with 1 hit.

 

And the rain has started...let's hope the Mets don't get the lead at any point.

Hilarious that they took Pedro out after Hoffpauir hit him well in the first two ABs, then Rincon gives up the 3-run bomb on the first pitch.

 

Edit: So you know the reaction fans at Miller Park would always give Ned Yost when he would walk out to pull Gagne after he gave up a 3-run homer? Multiply that a few times and that's the reaction Jerry Manuel's getting right now as he walks out to pull Rincon. The guy's gone from being a hero to goat in like a month.

The cubs middle relief is their only weakness, and Chad is a butcher. Lou can afford to take chances with Gaudin thus far, but he really is awful.
