Could Sabathia win the Cy Young?

He'd get my vote, he was clearly the best pitcher in the NL for the 130 IP he threw and if you look at the full body of work I think he was the best in baseball.

I really believe there's no one in the NL that has meant more to his team. I think he's the NL MVP.

I couldn't agree more, we just have to hope that the sports writers are not to stubborn to vote for a guy that was only in the NL for 130 innings or so.

I'll agree that Sabathia has a better shot at MVP. He will be under serious consideration for both but I think Pujols/Howard get the MVP and Lincecum get the CY Young. No one has meant more than CC but voters might not use that as criteria

I'm sure he'll get votes, but it's clearly Lincecum's, and Santana is pretty deserving as well.

I think his performance today has helped his CY Young chances, but MVP is tough for a pitcher to win.... however, in the context of "meant most to his team" i think CC by far SHOULD run away, and has gotten lots of press.... so.. you just never know... I would love for it to happen but there is still too much bias towards major markets for that to happen to a Brewer...

I do believe CC has a chance to win this, I won't be surprised if Lincecum is passed over, simply because his team didn't reach the playoffs.

I'd prefer he win a World Series MVP anyway.

I think the NL MVP should be between Manny and CC.

I think, by definition of the term (most valuable), CC should win the MVP, hands down. Now, as far as how voting goes, I think there are more deserving players stat-wise for both the Cy and the MVP. I think the fact that CC played half the season in the AL will prevent him from winning either honor.

They usually start handing out awards about a week after the World Series, starting with 'lesser' ones like the manager & rookie, then move on those 'big' ones. So, I'd guess somewhere around mid-to-late November.
