Prince Fielder: Past Uniform Numbers...

Does anyone know if Prince Fielder once wore #34 for the Brewers...more specifically, during 2005 Spring Training before he was called up to the majors in June 2005?

Please let me know.

I know he wore #37 in Huntsville and I think he was #60 in Nashville. I'm not sure what number he was in spring training of 2005.

I know he wore #66 in Nashville. Thank you for the information.

I am still wondering about wearing #34 as a Brewer if anyone has any information.

You might want to adjust your thread title to say "...Jersey Numbers", otherwise it sounds like the topic is his historic stats.

When a jersey number is retired, they don't issue it. I've never heard of a retired number being used by someone other than the retiree, even in Spring Training, except for the Jackie Robinson #42 honoring deal.

Rollie Fingers' #34 hasn't been issued since it was retired. Heck, the Brewers never allow anyone to wear Gantner's #17 even though it only gets worn for a week in ST when he shows up as a guest instructor -- and it's not like he's a future HOFer or that there's any legit reason his number ought to be retired.

I've seen Gartner batting balls for fielding practice before games at The Keg. He caught my attention when I saw one of the coaches was wearing #17.

Gantner is always behind the scenes at Miller. Atleast he was before he became a coach again.

In spring training 2005, Prince wore #27 in minor league camp and #28 when he played in the major league exhibition games.
